I've travelled to all seven continents both on a shoestring and on luxury trips and my recent vacation to Vietnam and Cambodia that was arranged by ( my now favorite) Travel Designer, Diep Nguyen, at Exotic Voyages by far exceeded my expectations. This was my first visit to Vietnam/Cambodia so the "must see" places were, needless to say part of the tour. Diep however went to bat for us to make certain we experienced the best of the tourist spots during the busy season when we were traveling. She managed to get us one of the best rooms in the colonial section of the Metropole Hotel in Hanoi. She arranged a trip on Halong Bay that was far away from what is now an almost Disney World touristy area. Similarly unique arrangements were made for a cooking class we took in Hoi An, that included a river boat trip and a USA experienced chef. The Bassac cruise up the Mekong Delta was another highlight and a trip that I would gladly extend to a few days rather than the single night we spent on board. What made this trip exceptional however was that it was totally hassle free. Tour guides were always on time. Drivers were always waiting at airports. The one thing that will always stick out in my mind as exceptional service however is when our flight from Hoi An to Siem Reap in Cambodia was delayed by several hours. Not only were we immediately informed and drivers on both ends rescheduled but the hotel manager of the Jaya House River Park where we were staying in Siem Reap was informed and greeted us as we stepped out of the taxi at midnight and graciously invited us for a light meal and wine in the event we had not eaten. You can't get more hassle free than that. I sincerely thank Exotic Voyages and Diep Nguyen for organizing this memorable trip. I would recommend them to anyone. Rieny New York City

We had booked our trip through exotic voyages. It was just an amazing experience. From the time we landed to the time we left we were given a royal treatment. The hotels, their guides and all their arrangements were 7 star arrangement. Diep their agent was looking after us. We had started from Hanoi to Cambodia to Hue to the south. Everyday we would get a call from Diep checking with us if everything was meeting our expectations and if we needed anything. Thank you Diep and exotic voyages. Bindu Sharma Philadelphia USA

NEVER will we go on a multi-person tour again (and we have been on many). There were only 2 of us (middle age American women-friends) and the itinerary they put together was excellent, geared toward our interests and outstanding. Car/driver & guide instead of bus/mini bus & group. If we felt that we had seen enough pagodas for that day, we did something else. No waiting, no big group dinners with pre-planned menus, this was seamlessly perfect. Cooking classes, street food adventures, zip lining in Angkor Watt, overnight boat ride in Halong Bay.....great allover cultural experience. AND the shopping was perfect.

I first learned of Exotic Voyages when I happened upon an article about a tour that is inspired by Anthony Bourdain's travels to Vietnam. Being a big fan of Bourdain along with a burning desire to travel to Vietnam, this was the perfect scenario for me to make the trip, so I contacted Exotic and Diep Nguyen to put together an itinerary to include Cambodia. Having just returned from the trip on March 5, I have to say the results exceeded my expectations. Being an experienced global traveler there are certain characteristics I'm looking for in an organized tour: Planning, Quality of Experience and the Guides/Drivers, and Responsiveness & Flexibility. Exotic Voyages made sure we saw a good representation of the Vietnamese and Cambodian people and lifestyles, and the Vietnam landscape from north to south. The itinerary had us fully immersed in the culture and social fabric, from the rich experiences on the farms, on the boats, in the marketplaces and the restaurants as they "connected the dots" for us on how food is farmed/caught, produced, sold, cooked and eventually delivered to the table. We loved the hands-on experience of a cooking class in Hue and we'll be practicing our new skills back home. Then of course the connections to Anthony Bourdain, meeting the Banh Mi Queen, eating at Lunch Lady and staying in his favorite hotels. The fairly complex logistics of the flights, hotels, guides and drivers were perfect. We especially appreciated seeing our guides/drivers awaiting us at the airports for each flight (there were six flights), handling the visas when necessary, guiding us at the airports for check-ins, handling the luggage, etc. They never missed a beat and constantly made sure we were comfortable and happy throughout the tour. The guides were all very knowledgeable and proud people, but I would especially call out Xuan in Hanoi who was informative and fun to hang with. When traveling in a foreign country, and with many connection points, responsiveness and flexibility are also extremely important. Diep was always there for us both before and during the trip when we either had questions or wanted to make some spontaneous changes to the itinerary. Overall I give high praise to Diep and Exotic Voyages for putting together a fantastic journey through two fascinating countries. It was certainly the most immersive and emotional trip I've taken, partly because of the US war history but mostly for the connection to the Vietnamese and Cambodian people who are the sweetest, most considerate, welcoming and accommodating people one could meet.Hiển thị ít hơn

We began planning our holiday vacation for two couples to Vietnam and Laos with Exotic Voyages back in June. As frequent international travelers, we've worked with a variety of tour companies over the years. We found Exotic Voyages and their travel planners to be super responsive, clear and concise in correspondences, and flexible in planning the best activities given our timeframes. We included a couple of days in Hanoi, two nights in Ha Long Bay, two in Sapa and three days in Luang Prabang. A few observations for those planning travel in similar cities/areas: 1. Laos and Luang Prabang was our favorite part of the trip. We had possibly our favorite guide of all-time, Latta Latda, who showed us so many great gems of her city and region. If you're considering Laos, DEFINITELY add it to your itinerary. It is a much-needed relief to the hustle/bustle/honking/smells of Hanoi! Also, I think it's probably the massage capital of SE Asia, with plentiful and excellent $6 massages (we got lots of these!). Also, great restaurants, amazing night market, great day activities, quality lodging and friendly locals. We're already planning our trip back to Laos! 2. Ha Long Bay is stunning and a must-see for northern Vietnam. We did the Paradise Luxury cruise, which we'd highly recommend. It's apparently the nicest boat with fewer than 20 cabins, so you get to know your fellow travelers as much or as little as you like. While a gorgeous area, be warned that this is a very busy place with lots of other cruise boats floating nearby. Also, there was more trash in the water than we expected. Hopefully Vietnam and UNESCO will work on this in the future and consider limiting the number of visitors or expanding the area a bit. 3. Sapa is another must-visit when in that part of the country. The terraced fields are breathtaking and there are lots of small villages to visit throughout the valley. We did a 10 mile hike through these villages where we got to see things close-up (and get some much-needed exercise!). The town is pretty touristy and busy and many of the roads are under major construction, so things can be muddy/dusty. The lodging was great. We stayed at Aira, which is walkable to everything downtown, yet far enough away from all the noise. Highly recommend. 4. We took the luxury night train to/from Sapa/Hanoi. It's small, but comfortable, but there's lots of shaking/banging, so bring some pills to help you get to sleep. 5. I'd say Hanoi was probably our least favorite part of the trip, but only because we're into more quiet/relaxed experiences. Hanoi - much like Saigon - is a frantic city of scooters and honking. We visited the Mausoleum of Ho Chi Mihn and hit a couple of museums, but beyond that, there weren't many things to do. Lots of little shops, interesting food and people-watching though. If planning a trip, I'd say 2 nights there is more than enough unless you're into big crowds and noise. Overall, this was definitely one of our favorite trips and Exotic Voyages made everything super easy. If you're planning a trip to SE Asia, I'd definitely recommend using them!

We traveled for a week. Visited Hanoi, Ha Lang Bay with a night on a ship, Flew to Da Lang and spent couple of days in Hoi-an, then flew to Saigon and visited the city then a day in Mekong Delta. We had an unforgettable experience in Vietnam and very highly recommend Exotic Voyages. We will use them again. We went to Hanoi, Halong Bay, Hoi An, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Cu Chi Tunnels, Son Tra Mountain and much more in about 2 weeks. The staff and guides at Exotic Voyages could not have been better: reliable; friendly; helpful and accessible. All our needs were taken care of: great hotels; tours; meals; transportation; itinerary and more. We want to specially recommend Van Ly and Giang who organized the trip. Xuan was a fantastic guide in Hanoi - knowledgeable and great company. Remi was very informative and helpful in Dan Nang and David showed us around Ho Chi Minh City and the south. David was very erudite and helped us understand the history and folklore - he was great. The Orchid Cruise in Halong Bay is an un-missable experience including the trip to Trung Trang cave on Cat Ba Island and the guide - Mike - was terrific there. The scooter ride in Hanoi and motorbike ride in Ho Chi Minh City were also marvellous as were the drivers-guides. Vietnam is a great place to visit - good food, great people, a cultural cornucopia and heroic history. All in all a great trip with a wonderful travel company.

Cost-effective, thorough, constant, personal service. Cars and guides were top-notch. Arranged private dinners. Great time in Vietnam. Poor country, but some luxury accommodations. Can't recommend enough. Need them if going to Vietnam. Don't try to do it on your own. They know the country and will provide you top-notch service. great trip. Great people. We did Vietnam a great dis-service; they don't hold a grudge. Very cost effective.

I worked with travel agent Tran Thuy who did an amazing job planning our vacation to Thailand! I went with three other friends and it was so nice to have everything planned out and ready to go once we were there. Tran was very knowledgeable about the area and very helpful in designing a itinerary around the places we wanted to see. She was also very prompt with returning my messages, which I greatly appreciated :-) I would definitely work with Exotic Voyages again and recommend them to anyone looking to visit Southeast Asia without the hassle and time of planning it on your own. Thanks Tran and Exotic Voyages!!

I cannot say enough great things about our experience with using Exotic Voyages for planning our 2 week honeymoon in Thailand. Even from the early planning stages, everything was seamless and very easy. Nhung and Quyen were both very helpful with putting together our itinerary and were very accommodating as we made revisions and changed our minds. From the moment we landed (actually from the very first email!) we felt like we were in really good hands. At every stop, there was an English-speaking guide waiting for us as well as a private mini tour bus that would help get us to our next destination. It was all incredibly easy and we never had to worry about how we would get somewhere or any of the logistics- it was all handled for us. We also loved every single tour/activity that was on our agenda. From snorkeling at the Surin Islands, to trekking in the national park, to visiting the elephant sanctuary to a private cooking class in Chiang Mai, everything was absolutely incredible. Also, the hotel selection was amazing and we loved each place more than the last. Even with a last minute adjustment and a change of plans, everyone was really really friendly and helped to accommodate what we were looking for. The team and the tour guides were all unbelievably helpful and made the experience unforgettable. We would absolutely recommend using this company for all travel needs- they go above and beyond and we'll definitely be using them for any future trips to SE Asia!
