"Terrible experience hiring

This isn’t exactly a review against the company, but they are part of the problem for not controlling what their freelancers publish. I hired a freelancer to help me with a task I couldn’t figure out due to a lack of time. So, I went on Fiverr to look for someone. I found a freelancer named Anada A and selected the basic service, which was priced at $20.

The task was simply to open a port in a firewall—something that, if you truly consider yourself a networking specialist, should take no more than five minutes. This so-called "networking specialist" accepted the order, but once it was confirmed, he reached out and demanded more money. This infuriated me because it’s an unethical tactic that takes advantage of customers' needs.

It’s not about the money—it’s about respecting what you offer. If you advertise a service at a certain price, you can’t change it after the customer has already placed the order. But that’s exactly what happened. I saw the price was $20, I placed an order, and then he changed the terms. Fiverr should take action against freelancers who list services at low prices just to attract customers, only to later increase the cost unfairly.

I had a terrible experience with this freelancer, and I won’t be using this platform anymore.

Date of experience: February 24, 2025"

"My first foray into using Fiverr was an absolute disaster, marked by subpar service and a complete lack of professional competence. Despite multiple attempts to resolve issues with my project, getting support from an actual human was impossible—responses were automated, unhelpful, and delayed. It’s clear that customer satisfaction is not a priority, and there is no accountability for freelancers who fail to deliver. This entire ordeal has been a frustrating waste of both time and money. I strongly advise potential users to consider other more reliable services where customer support and quality are taken seriously."

"DO NOT USE THIS PLATFORM IT IS A SCAM. I purchased a gig on 9/24 and it was supposed to be completed in 10 days. Here we are (10/28) several weeks later and it is still not done. What is worse is the freelancer that was 'helping' me did something and now when my business is googled, multiple versions of my website some up. There is no customer service at Fiverr, they only have AI customer service. I am not sure if this is allowed but his username on Fiverr is Mike Oliver and he is from Pakistan."

"I’ve been a loyal Fiverr user, but my recent experience has been incredibly disappointing. I hired a seller for a project, but the delivered work was full of fraudulent practices and copyright violations. As someone without programming skills, I initially couldn't verify the quality myself, but the seller was struggling with their team to get the software working. They were practically begging me to mark the order as complete, and in good faith, I did.

After a month of continued issues with the software, I had a programmer from Holland review the code, and he discovered that the seller had copied content from different applications into mine. After confronting the seller, they agreed to cancel the orders (#FO83193B8C708 and #FO61E7330EA84), but despite this mutual agreement and solid evidence of fraud, Fiverr refuses to issue a refund.

Fiverr's position is that, because the orders were completed more than 14 days ago, I’m not eligible for a refund. However, this isn’t just a case of delayed dissatisfaction – the work was clearly fraudulent from the start, and I’ve provided Fiverr with extensive evidence, including a document detailing the issues and screenshots of the seller admitting fault and agreeing to the cancellation.

To make matters worse, the seller has refused to return the money directly, leaving me with no choice but to rely on Fiverr’s mediation. Unfortunately, Fiverr’s support has been unhelpful, sticking to their policies rather than addressing the fact that I was scammed.

Fiverr’s marketplace should be a safe place for buyers, but this experience has left me feeling frustrated and unsupported. I trusted Fiverr to help resolve fraudulent activity, but their lack of action has me considering legal steps and filing complaints with consumer protection agencies.

This experience has completely shattered my trust in Fiverr. If you’re considering using Fiverr, be cautious, especially when it comes to their refund policies and handling of seller misconduct. I sincerely hope Fiverr takes action to protect buyers in the future, and I still hope I can recover some of the money I’ve lost."

"I needed a flyer made more appealing and found someone who did a good job quickly. After completing and tipping (fiverr takes a fee of both project and tips) I started to receive cold solicitations for work. I deleted my account, but they still come and customer service won’t do jack about it. Don’t use the platform if you like having privacy and not using your time to sift through these solicitations."
