“We brought an electric indoor insect fly killer. We tried to return it but had lost the receipt. The reason for the return is that the cable was very short and came out of the top of the item so we had no where to plug it in as it also said not to place it on window sills”
“Ordered wardrobes and wish I hadn't. Terrible quality, items damaged when unpacked and the general quality was very poor. Called customer service for a refund and return but was told it was acceptable. Replacement parts were the only way forward and I would have to wait around 20 days for the delivery......in the meantime wardrobe components and packaging all over the bedroom or my son. After numerous emails and comms there is no accountability at all. Just want the issue sorted bug not a conclusion in sight.”

“Having to select at least one star is frustrating for what can only be described as APPALLING customer service and APPALLING quality of goods.
I helped my brother who as Asperger order a ready assembled wardrobe so that he could just start using it without hassle....when it arrived the delivery drivers were curt. After they left he unwrapped it and was puzzled as the doors and handles weren’t attached. My husband went to his house and discovered it was the wrong model that had been delivered....it was also of very poor quality , flimsy . I called customer service to complain and the Indian call centre explained that he could have a replacement or a refund, my brother chose refund as the whole process was affecting his anxiety....based on this my husband put the doors on and drill the holes for the handles as they were in the wrong place. Then more problems began....my brother started to get calls and emails about picking up the wardrobe. My brother had a meltdown as it was so confusing for him and I had to call customer services again for clarity. They said that ‘what they meant was’ my brother could only have a partial refund and the supplier was only offering £22 for the £400 we had paid!! The agents take no responsibility on behalf of Robert Dyas , they just blame the suppliers even when I insisted our contract was with them. It is clear as well that being in India gives a slightly different understanding of English language and that they had actually offered a refund...no mention of partial or otherwise. My brother is so fed up he is going to accept the £22 and live with the shoddy wardrobe just because he feels harassed and anxious. I will never order from them again and would certainly not recommend them”
“Ordered a greenhouse in feb was meant to be delivered by end of march when it didn’t arrive phoned Robert dyas what a joke they couldn’t tell me what was happening as they couldnt get the suppliers on the phone this was the day before Easter Friday so obviously everything is going to be shut for four days also the greenhouse was showing 5 in stock on their site so we asked why they were still selling them when they obviously don’t have any and are just taking your money and hoping you wait on it we were then told to phone back on the Tuesday and they would find out for us in the four days we were waiting Robert dyas just cancelled my order and said I’d get a refund so now I’ve wasted nearly two months trying to get a greenhouse from the worst company for customer service ever I would never use them again they are useless !!!!!!!!! If you want a greenhouse in time phone greenhouse stores I’ll get it in three weeks and now when you go on to the site for Robert dyas selling greenhouses you have to wait 10 to 12 weeks now for the same greenhouse that’s because I told them I was phoning trading standards as their advertising goods they don’t have and taking your money AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE USELESS COMPANY”
“Absolutely terrible customer service we bought a ride on motorbike after one use the battery went flat and would not charge after 2 weeks of trying to get this sorted I get the same email reply saying sorry your item has gone faulty we have referred this to manufacturer give us 24-48 hours to reply if they don’t hear from manufacturer they will issue a refund guess what no refund and when I email I get the same reply. Shocking company, customer services vey in helpful avoid this company at all costs. I am now considering my options possibly citizens advice or trade and standards”

“I have used Robert Dyas twice now and will never again.
In the first experience, I was sent a toy robot for my son which didn’t work. I returned and after multiple phone calls was sent a replacement, which actually turned out to be the same robot as the first time.
My latest experience was the purchase of a lawnmower, delivery was supposed to be yesterday so I took the day off especially costing me £200 in wages, but it never arrived. Not only that, it doesn’t yet even seem to have been dispatched judging by email communications (or the lack of). I have contacted RD to see what’s going on. They are “chasing it up” but I’m not holding out much hope…

“Ive had to give 1 star as thats the least i can give, if there was an option for zero i would of chosen that. Ordered a electric ride on vespa for my granddaughters birthday i was told it would be delivered on Sunday, waited in all day, nothing then on the Monday Amazon shipping said they had delivered it, they may have done but not to me. I called there customer service and explained and even offered to send them my cctv which proved Amazon never delivered it, guess what? they were not interested, then they said they would get back to me within 2 days, guess what after 3 days nothing. Apparently they offer exceptional customer service lol, this company are a disgrace they take your money and dont deliver, ive purchased the vespa from Smyths, yes it was a bit more but at least i have it. Only order from here if your desperate and want to loose your money, im still waiting for a refund”

They have decided to ignore UK consumer law by refusing it - because the item had been worn? It's a pillow - virtually untouched and certainly not worn (or slept on for that matter). “Bought a 2 seater sofa from here which has barely been used in the 2 years I have had it as it is a guest sofa. One of the legs has completely snapped off, I've been in touch with Robert Dyas to request either a new leg, a refund or replacement and they have said they have no responsibility after 12 months for damages or faulty goods.
Clearly this low quality, faulty furniture is not built to last more than 12 months and you will not receive any assistance when it inevitably breaks. I would not recommend Robert Dyas at all.”

“Ordered a cooking set (costs £145) and it didn't arrive on the day stated. Like many I had to chase them and get an update. It arrived over a week late as they had to put in another order. When I got it, it was damaged. Clearly used. They would only replace the item after collecting it. Seeing as they are incapable of sending items in time I wanted it replaced on the same day. However, they don't do that! The first company I've had say this! Been shopping online for years and a replacement is always sent before removal! This company is a sham.
