I reside in Hartenbos and recently ordered goods that did not suit my needs. Contacted Takealot and was told to utilise their online return system, which was easy enough to follow. Goods were returns and I received my full refund within a few days. What a service…..top marks to TAKEALOT.

Takealot does not respect their customers time. I placed an order and selected same-day delivery, paid the premium for the option and nothing! The order says I will only receive it 3 days later.

Order 89585906 driver was irritated because he couldn't get hold of my unit. And when he finally found me he threw my stock on the grass and turned his back. Not brought my stock to my door and then he left. Poor service

The worst customer care service of earth. An order before its delivery, got an email to say i should reject it. Then i ordered a different item. Regardless of the cancellation the cancelled order came and i was forced by the driver to may COD payment and i did for peace sake. When the desired order came i nolonger had cash and told the driver to reschedule or give me a few minutes to uber to the ATM. the driver then started swearing and went out of my house to come back with a big brick and hit ne in the head multiple times. I had to get 8 stiches at the hospital and tried to contact the management at the different branches in the western cape area where this all happened but no action was taken

Please bear with me while I tell you a story... On 22 June, I placed an order with a delivery date of 24 June (bear in mind this is a Thursday). 24 June 06:35: I receive an SMS informing me my order is out for delivery 24 June 08:12: I receive another SMS saying that you tried to deliver but couldn't. I checked the app which informed me that I refused delivery. I had not received ANY communication or a knock on the door. Bear in mind, I had arranged to be home for the entire day in order to accept the delivery. 24 June 08:14: Two minutes later, I call the delivery team and speak with Kieran P who informs me that the order was never even close to my location meaning the driver or someone in the warehouse set the status to "customer refused delivery", placing the blame on me. The agent assures me they will contact your Parow branch and rectify the issue. I remind him that there is liquor in the order and it would need to be delivered before the end of the day (I placed this order in anticipation of another liquor ban). Again, they reassure me that the issue will be sorted out. Shortly thereafter I receive an email saying that they had received my call. 24 June 11:17: No communication. I call back (also bear in mind that I need to stay on hold for 5 - 7 minutes each time). Again, I am told that they would contact the Parow branch to rectify the situation. At this stage, I dread the words "we'll call the Parow branch" because I know that's code for "I'm probably not going to do anything about this" (this isn't the first order that's gone wrong recently). 24 June 12:59: I respond to the email requesting an update. No response 24 June 15:20: I call for the third time informing them that I have received no information. I am told that they would contact the Parow branch (the dreaded words) and call me back. I again explain that the order includes liquor that must be delivered by 17:00 according to legislation. This time I receive no email record of the conversation 24 June 16:06: I receive a call back to say that they have tried calling the Parow branch on three different numbers but there has been no answer. I am dumbfounded that there is no direct line of communication between your delivery team and your drivers. I am, however, informed that effort would be put into rectifying the situation. 24 June 16:15: I again respond to Kieran P.'s email to inform him that there are 45 minutes left in which the delivery can legally occur. No response. 24 June 16:39: I call back AGAIN. I inform the agent that there are 16 minutes left to deliver (remember that I have to wait on hold for at least 5 minutes per call). He sounds despondent but tries to reassure me. At this stage, it is becoming less of a practical issue and more of a principled issue. He promises to get back to me. Of course, that didn't happen. I call it a day, horribly disappointed in the experience. 25 June 06:32: I receive an SMS saying that the delivery has been rescheduled and would arrive by 17:00. Now I know that delivery of the liquor is not permitted, but I hang onto hope. What a silly thing to do. 25 June 11:15: Usually my orders are delivered early in the morning given I live close to Parow. I realise that there's probably another problem but I hadn't received a SMS. I go into the app and see that the order has now been damaged and will be rescheduled. At this stage, I'm angry, but hardly surprised. 25 June 11:17: I call the delivery line AGAIN and, admittedly, get quite worked up (I'm sure you would too). I expressed my discontent at the broken procedures and communication lines within Takealot but assure the agent that my anger is directed at the company and not at him (I feel bad for agents who receive angry calls who had nothing to do with the mishap). He proceeds to explain that the elusive Parow branch probably damaged the order and proceeded to blame it on me by marking the delivery as refused. I can't make this stuff up. Nonetheless, I request that the undamaged items be delivered and the damaged items replaced and delivered later. He promises to get back to me. At this stage, I know that a Takealot promise is an empty one. I accept that the problem won't be resolved and move on with my day. Of course, that's exactly what happened. Nothing. 28 June 07:00: I receive a generic email from Takelot saying that my order will be delayed due to the newly imposed liquor ban (remember that is what I anticipated and specifically placed this order for). Had the delivery be made on time and blame not cast on me, all would have been well. Now I presume that the entire order will be delayed due to the liquor ban instead of splitting it up and delivering those goods that can be delivered. Again, I remind you that this all could have been avoided very easily. Gosh, if your employees could just communicate honestly and openly, and manage expectations, this whole experience would have been better. Now, I'd like to come back to the "we'll call the Parow branch" line again. This isn't the first time. In an almost comical way, the same thing happened with my last order (88189955). I would love for you to check that one too. Takealot used to be my go-to e-commerce site, but I'm afraid you have become complacent and used to substandard service delivery. Your discounts are inflated and you are starting to resemble a Onedayonly/Daddy's Deals type business. It's disappointing. I receive better on time and in full service from Amazon, shipping from the other side of the earth, with orders requiring customs clearance. Takealot isn't able to get this right when delivering goods that are in stock from a warehouse barely 15km from my house.

Takealot has been rescheduling my delivery and the funny part is that they send an sms a day after about the rescheduling. I gave them my work address and I must be out by certain times. I had to wait outside until 5 pm, just as stated on their sms, and the call center lady was telling me the order is on the way after I waited for more than 30 minutes on the phone. This is such a bad service. I will never buy from takealot any more. I guess my mistake was paying online. Perhaps, cash on delivery was gonna be much better.

Honestly, terrible customer service. Ordered 4 items - All listed as 'In stock' in CPT warehouse during placement. Selected next day delivery and paid premium. After payment taken I was informed one item not available and the whole order would be delayed a week. No live chat or phone number available on website. Customer service appears to be outsourced as email came in early hours. Anyone ordering take note: They will not allow you to change to collection of items under any circumstances. You must CANCEL the whole order and then RE-ORDER if an item is not available. Takealot needs to look at their Change Management Ordering process and Operational Management processes as there was plenty of people who could have assisted when I was in branch but were not able to due to archaic internal management. Ordered from Syntech across the road - no issues.

if it was up to me to give takealot a rating i was going to give them zero star. I am struggling with getting my refund back from takealot.com. I ordered a phone and when the device was delivered to me, I opened the package and the brown box of takealot was fine so when i opened the package the box of the phone that was inside was broken/torn. When i switched on the phone everything seemed fine and only after i put the phone on dark mode that's when i noticed a second lining/trace on the screen of the phone as if it came into contact with water. I then went straight to the returns and it didn't take long for them to send a driver to fetch the phone, the following day this other guy from takealot came and fetch it but now the problem is takealot has been quiet no sms no notification no update no nothing. I decided to call on Sunday and i spoke to one of their assistant and he gave me the due date of Monday thats when i was supposed to receive a notification since he told me that they were still processing my refund, come Monday still nothing was done. I gave them the benefit of the doubt hoping maybe Tuesday i will receive an update from takealot. I then reached out to them via email Sikelwa Nqolowa replied to me and said "we have received your phone but we will revert back to you" but still i have not got any updates from them. I tried calling again no one picked only after 3 days when i called again finally they picked up, the lady that i spoke to told me that my return has not reached the warehouse yet but on the email they sent me after i reached out to them, Sikelwa Nqolowa said my phone has reached the warehouse and they will revert back to me. So now i feel they are two different statements from takealot. I have been patient enough but now i am very tired of the empty promises, i am disappointed with their customer service. All i want now is my refund. My order number is #88551405 (Nokia 2.4 Charcoal) i paid R2399 COD, i just want my refund and i dont think i will ever order anything again because now i am scared if ever i happen to order something and its defective i will struggle with refund again, i am disappointed with the poor service, poor communication. I will give them zero star.

Bought a Dolce gusto coffee machine. The selection for hot or cold button was missing. Did a return, they came to fetch it, sent to warehouse and said that the machine is new and nothing is wrong with it. Of course it's still new cause you can't switch it on without that specific button . The machine was sent back to me with the button still missing. Contacted Takealot again and now they refuse to refund me because of some idiot that don't know anything about coffee machines. Very disappointing.

A month ago, the incorrect colour order was delivered to me. That was the suppliers fault. But from there, Takelot has bungled everything to do with this order. So a month later, I still do not have what I ordered and paid for. They have no telephone number, using Covid and work from home as an excuse. They don't read their emails, only the last one, where they say" So sorry to hear" but nobody takes any ownership of their horrific service. Stop using them. I will surely not use them again.

brilliant service!! i needed my delivery earlier and the gentlemen arranged it for me, I've also sent a-product back that i wasn't happy with and no probelms at all. Service and delivery has been amazing every-time. So many pp only go on to complain and cant say anything when a provider is doing a great job. Well done Takealot!! I love using you guys!

Poor delivery service. Seeing that takealot.com don't have a complaints link on the website I thought il just use this platform instead. Purchased my product on Friday 14 May 2021 and was promised delivery by Tuesday 18 May 2021. Im still awaiting my product i have called in numerous times and was promised it will get delivered by the end of the day. I tracked the order on the takealot website and it states that they tried contacting me and I was not available so they are going to reschedule, but yet no one was calling me or trying to get in contact. The call centre promised that they sorted out the situation on 3 occasions. And told me i must collect it from the Branch. What is the delivery service for? And why are your drivers lying saying they contacted me? What is funny was that the Call Centre agents told me that the drivers werent even in my area, and i told them if im not reachable please leave the item by security. Im tired of calling after you guys to stick to your promises. I hope you guys are going to reimburse my airtime i wasted on calling you, to do your work. In fact the item was needed for Tuesday which has now passed so im not even sure that im going to use it. Can someone competent of Takealot.com please contact me to resolve this. I bought the table top drum grater from Takealot, used it only 2 times, when a small part of the feeding jar broke off while using the product to grate cheese. I filed a complaint, sent it back, and after a whole week of hearing nothing from Takealot, i decided to check their tracking service, only to see that my return/exchange has been declined and concluded, without them informing me of the reasons why. I expected a refund, just for a “Dale” to email me and informing me that they think that it was my own negligence and me “not knowing how the product works”. I knew exactly how it worked, and im disgusted at Takealot for assuming i broke the product. What i want to know is, what happens to the money i spent on that product ? Including delivery fees? Does Takealot just expect us to let go of monies we spent on their products and not expect a refund again?????? I m TOTALLY DISGUSTED WITH THEM!!! I want my refund and will rather use some other online purchasing services!

Ordered online, received wrong parcel. Took it back the next day, but they didn't want to accept it. Whole email fight for days. Must drive again 60km just to hand parcel in to be checked before they refund us. And only then they will send us the correct parcel. Bad service!!! Their mistake!!! Hopefully we receive our correct parcel!!!

WARNING!!! READ TILL END!!! DO NOT SELL ON TAKEALOT!!! WISH I COULD PICK NO STAR as they don't even deserve one star!!! Or for that matter, Don't even buy from them. Rather contact the supplier directly. If you think ordering from them and receiving terrible service is bad, then you can't even begin to imagine what headaches the Seller part of Takealot will give you! Just getting your stock to the warehouse is a hassle and NO One in the TAL departments know what is going on. I had to ask an external Courier company what was going on to eventually get my stock to their DC's. And don't think that their big and confusing user guide that they make you study is any help, because it is out dated and when you phone the customer service line, they don't even know what to do or what is in the manual themselves. The hoops you have to jump through and the amount of plastic that you have to use to ship with them is terrifying. I felt so guilty for all the plastic as we pride our selves in using safer products for the environment when we personally ship to customers. The warehouses are constantly loosing our items and don't think they tell you this. We only have 8 products we stock with them and I feel for the people who sell more items. If I don't watch my stock like a hawk, then we would never know. Then you have to go through a stock discrepancy process that take days to finally hear that your stock is indeed missing. Then they still make you pay the fulfillment fee and success fee as if it were shipped to a client. So even though they pay for the missing or broken stock, it is still not reaching customers. This is a weekly scenario now. We have only been selling with them for 4 months now. And it gets worse. Their stock reports don't reflect correctly with the sales and the actual stock items you have jump around with NO explanation. For example, if you shipped shipped 5 items to TAL and all of a sudden it shows you have 10 and they make you pay storage fees for these items that magically appeared in your Seller portal. There seems to be NO communication or order within this company. Maybe when they started, but now that they have made their money, they DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE SMALL BUSSINESS or about keeping high standards. The customer service staff are basically just there to hear us complain. They cannot do anything to help you has it gets escalated to the person in charge, and don't think you get to speak to "These" people. And if you do not hound them EVERY day, your problems are forgotten or pushed aside. If you were to look at my phone bill and my emails, it is JUST Takealot. Every single part of dealing with selling with Takealot from getting stock to them and their "Daily Deals", to just plane recon of my stock has given me headaches and sleepless nights. And you would hope that the money you make from selling with them is worth it....NOT ONE BIT! I am just waiting for them to find more of my missing stock, then I AM PULLING Everything OUT!!! And please do understand. Every issue I mentioned hear and the ones I didn't I have taken up with TAL directly. I am yet to be contacted by the manager or person in charge of these issues as again, and I quote "They do not speak to the sellers directly." NOW THAT IS TERRIBLE SERVICE! I feel everyone has a right to know. If this was a one time thing I wouldn't even be here typing this review.
