We placed a order a few days ago and on the day of delivery they came and because the shop was close for a while they just left from there the drivers didn't bother to phone or anything

It's clear that not everyone shares the same experience when it comes to online shopping however, my first and most certainly not the last order here at TAKEALOT's online shop has been one of pure bliss. Not only did parcel reach me in a swiftly i was updated every step of the way via SMS. No logging online in attempt to track the whereabouts of my order. In addition to that the comfort of paying on delivery is also a complimentary option. Generally i am wary of ordering online but knowing i have not paid in advance for something i did not recieve does give me peace of mind. I HUGE THANK YOU to the team involved for the OUTSTANDING service!!! I will highly recommend your business and logistic operations.

What a disappointment. I missed calls from them regarding my order delivery at 16:18 and returned the call at 16:24. The reason for them calling was to inform me that the driver was stuck in traffic, which I appreciated. What created this 1-star review is what happened next. At 16:31 I get an SMS to say that I am not available for delivery. Without any follow up phone calls to say they are there, the doorbell did not ring or anything. My delivery was just cancelled. This is after paying the extra R95 to have the order delivered today. This is definitely the last time I will ever be ordering anything from them and I wish I had read the reviews on here before placing the order.

Really bad service we order a smart watch it was delivered excited to assembled the watch straps the straps was not working phoned and lodged a return up on checking my order status there was a pen with the watch ow ever there was no pen phoned and enquired they said that they emailed me the email does not provided a option to give a response i was told item declined due to missing parts ask them just to return the watch now i get it back with no charger so process begin again will never buy from them again it seems someone is tampering with the packages before it gets delivered

Pathetic customer service, no dialogue, no feedback, no callbacks on issue raised. Absolutely appalling and disgusting. You cannot escalate your problem to a manager cause each advisor will give and excuse the manager is unavailable so you stuck with incompetent advisors who cannot resolve your issue. I am still owed money after two weeks of their error. Will never use this service again, very disappointing customer journey

Basically Takealot has the proof that the product was clollected. I have the proof that Takealot has reseived it. If there is a problem between Takealot's courier and Takealot. That is literally not my problem. I will no longer wait. Bloody hell its the 29th (I have been waiting almost two months for my money back- this company is stealing from me). Please return my money today or put me in contact with a manager. No one is responding to my emails. I cant call to talk to someone at Takelot because your phonline is switched off due to covid. So let them call me. I am now at the level of anger that I can hit someone with something. I really have never ever work with or baught from a business that is so unprofessional. I expect my money back today 29 September 2021 before close of business. No nonsense that you are waiting for feedback. As mentioned. That is your problem!!!!

I bought two expensive sound speakers from Takealot. I received both. However, the original packaging was clearly tempered with. Nevertheless, I didn't open the items until I bought the required TRS cables. Upon opening the boxes, one of the speakers had some chipped damage. I didn't really care about it, even though I did pay for new speakers. This was not the case when I played some music through the speakers. One of the speakers were not playing correctly. So I logged a return for exchange because I already have the other one, and I want the pair to be uniform in my audio setup. It was collected from my home, and a few days later I was informed that my request was declined due to "visible user damage" in reference to the chipped off covering. This is Takealot alleging that I damaged the speaker. Now I sit with 1 speaker that works, the other 1 that doesn't. I will have to pay an electronic technician to fix it for me. All of this, after paying big bucks for something that was advertised as brand new and in working order. I supported Takealot for several years, and I spent well over R40 000 through them, but this was the last, and I will discourage others from using them.

Utterly Disgusted by the Mistreatment as a Seller I'd like to start this review by stating that I have been a loyal Takealot customer for years, I've recommended these guys to both friends and family as being reliable for years. However my complaint isn't with the Takealot platform but rather the Takealot Seller Portal and their incompetent compliance team. I've been a seller on the platform for just under a year now and I've sent hundreds if not thousands of tickets and queries trying to resolve issues. Of which most of these tickets are either ignored or set as solved without anyone actually responding to them or helping you in any way or form. And the people that you do eventually connect with listen to your problem, state they will contact/call you back and you never hear back from them again. Over the last month, I've been trying to add new products to my Catalogue, these products are branded and were bought in a retail store, I have the receipt for them and everything. These products kept getting rejected however by the compliance team due to needing a letter from the manufacturer or a receipt for the products. I then uploaded the receipts and the products got rejected yet again, I was then told to contact the retail store and ask them for a direct invoice for the products. I did this and got a new invoice from the retail store. I then uploaded the new invoice to the compliance team, this was on the 14th. I woke up on the 15th with an email stating that my account has been suspended because the specific agent has the opinion that the products are fraudulent. Note none of these products were ever actually listed under my account let alone sold to anyone, the requests were for permission to sell the specific products. No member of the compliance team had ever mentioned that these could have possibly been fraudulent over the month-long period that I've been uploading the products. Even so the Takealot T&C state that "You may not provide Product Information or Listing Information for any Unsuitable Products, or otherwise seek to list such Products for sale on the Website, and Takealot is entitled at any time to suspend or remove the listing of any Unsuitable Products from the Website. A list of Unsuitable Products may be included from time to time on the Seller Portal, but Takealot is entitled at any time without prior notice to You to declare any other item as an Unsuitable Product, whether or not it also amends such list." Therefore like in the past, the listings should have just been rejected like they have been in the past. Except the reasoning should state that these are potentially fraudulent products. My account shouldn't have been suspended. Takealot also states under Prohibited Content, "Illegal and potentially illegal products: All Products sold on the takealot.com site must adhere to all applicable laws. Our sellers are therefore legally liable for their own actions and transactions. As a seller you are expected to familiarise yourself with the legal parameters surrounding any products that you intend to offer for sale on takealot.com. This would include the sale of products by entities outside the Republic of South Africa." None of these products were ever added to my listings let alone sold to anyone, I was simply requesting permission to sell these products, unknowingly that they were fraudulent. If I had known that or if it was ever mentioned I would have gotten rid of the products and never looked back. I'm not the manufacturer nor the importer for these products, again, I bought these from a brick and mortar store, It's illegal in the first place for that retail store to sell fraudulent products. This has been the latest issue, last month a bunch of my products got disabled because they were "branded" and associated with "PS5" which wasn't allowed to be sold at the time. This is funny because the products that were disabled are generic products that are simply compatible with the PS5, Xbox & Switch controllers. Because it's a generic controller display stand. And on top of that, if you search for "PS5 controller stand" there are still hundreds of products online that weren't taken down like mine was. Another issue before this, a bunch of products getting rejected due to the primary image being a lifestyle image. This means that on a phone stand or holder, it must be the stand alone without showing the phone. A headphone or controller stand, without showing the controller or headphone. This is especially funny because if you search for a phone/headphone or controller stand right now, there are hundreds of products showing a lifestyle image as the primary image. Mmmmmmm, Its rules for some and none for others and its BS. I've even had reversible plushies rejected 12 times because either the image with the plushies had to be the same angle, then no arrows allowed on the image and then the product would get rejected for no "dimensions & weight" even though this is a compulsory field when uploading a product. So in the excel sheet that you get back when a product is rejected, a reason is mentioned like the one before. So I'd add those specifications again and reupload. I'd then get the product rejected AGAIN and in the same document with all the specifications listed, I'd get a BS "No dimensions or weight" issue again. After 12 attempts I gave up on those products. That was still when there was a single reversible octopus plushie on the market, now there are hundreds. All with shitty images, arrows on the image and I'm pretty sure none of their listings were rejected. I'm still dealing with the suspended account, and my whole company runs around selling on Takealot, it's everything, our whole importing market of products is on Takealot. I'm losing thousands because of this and no-one can tell me how long this will take, how long the suspension is, how I can get it reactivated. I have the option to repeal the suspension, which I've done several times without any responses. I've never received any warnings, tickets or suspensions before, this is all a first. And my account is being suspended even though I haven't done anything illegal or against the T&C of Takealot. I hope someone that can help me sees this and attempts to help me because going through the compliance team and sending them tickets is useless, nothing ever gets resolved, let alone answered. I ordered the Elephant Pillow from takealot. I received the dirty,damaged smelling pillow with a mouse droppings in the package. Looks like their storage had mouse and they don't double check the products before the give to customers. When I logged the complaint after 2days received the Elephant I waited for them to respond on what next can I do. I then decided to drop the Elephant in few hours I received the email saying they declined the complaint with a photo of what I complained for. They seemed to say I am the one who damaged the product pretending as they did not read my points on my complaint. I am soo disappointed in takealot service. They seemed to be fake and not organized I don't recommend anyone to buy from them. 😔😔😔😔😔

I ordered a robot vacuum with self charging docking station and remote. I got a cheap R200 robot vacuum that doesn't self charge has no sensor no docking station no remote and the suction is pathetic. This is not what I ordered! This is the second time I ordered from Takealot and didn't get what I ordered! Is Takealot becoming the next Wish!

I ordered a few cleaning supplies thinking it would be easier..on the 30th of July 2021. It is now 26th August 2021 and they still cannot tell me what happened to my order, when the new order will be couriered and why I cannot get a refund. Absolutely absurd. I will never buy from this company again. All that happens when you query is..it goes from person to person on a 17..yes 17 forwarded email..that says the matter will be escalated. Absolute joke

I bought a Russell Hobbs PuriFry Max 3.2L Air Fryer. The advertised pictures are simply false. Don't try to get the advertised chicken into the fryer... You will have to squash it down or it will touch the element and fan. How else is one supposed to try it out... I wonder. Don't even try to return it to Takealot... You will get nowhere fast. PS> I love Takealot but unknown items... never again !!!

Ordered on 11 August 2021 and my order expected to arrive 22 Aug, then 27 Aug now I just check the tracker online and it says 7 September 2021. Being a former employee at Takealot this is a bit embarrassing. I am really disappointed and a bit angry.

I'm absolutely horrified at the condition of the parcel that arrived yesterday. The item was handed to me not even in a sealed bag or packaging brown box, just in the item box, unsealed and the box had holes in it and was in a disgusting state. This was a Birthday present! How do you give something to someone in this condition. This was my 1st takealot order and will certainly be my last!!

Service is terrible takes a day to reply you then they struggle to find the delivery problem then finally they find they sended the package to the wrong courier I ordered from take alot 5times now and theres always a delay firstly with getting the items then shipping the items then there a shipment delay and honestly using courier it the worst delivery service in SA.My wish and amzon orders are faster than take alot.thats just plane pathetic.

In general Takealot delivered the goods we ordered in time and in good order. But when they erroneously charged me for items I did not order, their help to resolve the issue was pathetic. They could not provide details of the alleged orders or proof of delivery. The customer has to proof that he bought nothing by...sending them proof of the order...which since I did not make an order is impossible. Check your bank statements - you may have donated to the Takealot does not give a damn fund as well.
