“I recently bought clothes from their website. I am happy with what I got and paid for. Would be nice if they put measurements up on all their clothing, otherwise they wouldn't be wasting people's time and gas by sending them back ,which isn't eco friendly. Shipping also took awhile to get here. 2 weeks.”
“I have had good experiences with Thred Up until they started using VEHO to deliver. Now my packages go missing and I never get them. VEHO customer service is awful. I think this company is mainly scammers. Thred Up customer service takes no responsibility for using this shoddy delivery service and is of no help getting me my package or issuing a refund. I will not be ordering from them again. I will be going back to Poshmark who has legit humans who use USPS to track and deliver your package in a timely manner. Goodbye ThredUp!”
“This review refers to purchasing only as I do not sell on this site. Takes FOREVER to receive your items! Unacceptable! I'm not waiting a month. Also, measurements are incorrect. I ordered a top that was 23" in length supposedly. Actual length 20". Sooooo.....buyer beware. Honestly a pathetic joke thrifty shopper site. Do not bother. I repeat Do Not Bother! They'll be out of business shortly, I'm sure.”
“First it took 8 weeks to process the items that I sent it to sell. They want you to pay for expedited processing. The most expensive item, which was brand new, was not listed to sell. Per thier policy if you don't request unlisted items to be returned before you send the items they are disposed of. They give you such a low percentage of money back from a sale that buy the time you cover thier processing fees you are lucky if you make any money back. They have no way of contacting them if there is an issue. Never again. I'd rather take my designer items to Goodwill at least then I won't feel ripped off.”
“I am 4’9 and wear child size cloths and shoes. Because of that it’s always been very difficult for me to find stuff when I want to dress up and feel like a women. I’m 39 and have never been able to find pumps in my size, which I always loved the most. After I found ThredUp I saw a pair on there in a size 4 and was so excited, I bought them immediately. They came in less than a week and they fit me perfect. I wore those shoes all day, everyday for a month. I’d walk around and clean my house in them lol. I just ordered my second pair from them and have the same experience. They came in less than a week and they are gorgeous. Both time I got $100 pumps for less than $20. You can’t beat it. Without them I can’t really afford to spend $100 on shoes for an event, let alone anywhere that sells my size in person. Thank you thredup for giving great customer service.”
“Do not purchase from ThredUp if you live in Canada. I paid $30 in shipping - however ThreadUp did not include my contact information on my shipment… So Canada border control could not process the package. It was sent to Mississauga Ontario and I was told I needed to pay FedEx another $30 in shipping to have it sent to my house. In addition to that there was a $30 customs fee. In total, I paid $90 for shipping and handling.. customer service is nonexistent. I’ve opened a dispute with my credit card company to have the charges reversed.. Go to Poshmark instead..”
“Now they charge an up front fee which is usually more than what you might earn on a 30 pound bag of clean quality items. Most of my clothes were not even listed. It is hardly worth the time and effort and Good will you put into trying to work with this company. Cleaning, folding, shipping and cataloging turns into a huge waste of time. You will feel better donating to the Salvation Army! I even sent in a brand new pair of Hermes shoes which just mysteriously disappeared. No explanation!! It is such a disappointing exercise in trying to do the right thing for the environment. It's truly TOO Bad!”
“I had been sending in items to sell and they were doing ok price wise but then i sent in a high end bag that was listed and then disappeared with no explanation, I wasn’t even given the option of having the bag returned, customer service is non existent, also i noticed the payout wasn’t even worth the effort since they started charging a fee, I would say you are better off selling at a garage sale, i have since deleted my accounts”
“Don’t waste your time. Either do Poshmark or just take clothes to a local shelter instead of PAYING to ship your items only to receive NOTHING in return. What a joke. There is little to no follow up from them and even the best clothes in the best condition sell for nothing.”
“I took months for them to process my items. Customer service is completely non-responsive. When they finally did process my items they didn't even mention some of them and they split up one matching set without explanation.”
“Terrible deal for sellers. My seven mint-condition, higher-end items (premium denim, dresses and more) only added up to a total of 21 dollars potential earnings to me. And even if they all sell, TU will charge me a $16 fee (on top of the upcharge on each the clothing items!) so I will get 5 bucks. Only if everything sells… and nothing has so far. I should have just donated them locally. Such a waste of time.”
“Disappointing --- Sold 28 items with a payout of less than 130.00. Most were NWT and Torrid, a preferred brand. (item inc. LN Kate Spade Purse, a leather Sak- so imagine), I just noticed that a dress of mine that was NWT but not listed as such had sold AFTER my period for compensation. I think it's fishy ---.
I ordered items 3x ---of that, only 2 items were what I'd call high quality, like new. Some of the other items, I have donated to Salvation Army. Will not use this company again ---- and hey, there really is no viable customer service. Wonder what happened to my unaccepted items? A lot of those were NWT, current styles ---- this is NOT for me, I'd rather donate locally! Suggestion: Favorite /ALL your own items so you can see if they sell AFTER the window and get removed from your ownership.”
“I sent in brand name quality truly gently used clothes. I was aware of scale for pay out. But damn, seriously, only $1.54?? Not the higher dollar on scale? I knew I wasn’t getting rich doing this as shown on Today show. But come on. I should’ve just donated locally. AND THERES NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!”
“This website is a total scam. Three weeks to get my order. Got sent one wrong item. Another was hemmed up so it was not a tall (BTW, if you brave the site when browsing items in pictures make sure you see the tag to ensure it is a tall as they have a lot of items posted as tall that are NOT). $4 "restocking fee" per item and then they want you to take shopping credit for a return and when you say no, they sack you a lot for the return label. And the quality of two of the items I bought certainly did not match the description of "new/tags attached" or "exceptional". Stay far, far away from this business.”
“I was a faithful customer with this company for many years, probably since around 2015 or 2016. Despite all of the negative reviews, I tried to support this company as much as possible placing numerous orders. I had a couple of different accounts with Thredup from not being able to remember passwords. Nonetheless, my daughter who is currently in college decided to open her own account and placed an order. She used the discount code to place her first order. Now mind you, she is in college and I allowed her to use my PayPal account not to mention she lives 45 miles away from us but will use our address to get items shipped to our home (it's safer than using hers and getting them stolen) from Amazon and all the other companies that she has ordered from. Thredup went and canceled her order because she is using the same household address and payment method. They didn't even provide a reason in the email, she had to contact customer service service so that she could get an answer. Apparently, they can't afford to have someone using a discount code with the same shipping address or payment form. Really?????? They bottom line is that they are getting paid but apparently they can't afford allowing a discount when they are making a huge amount of money off of everyone else who sends them clothing that they don't even have to spend a dime on. I'm disgusted with this company and decided to delete my account and my daughter also deleted her. I will not EVER give this company any business nor will I recommend them to anyone. They lost a customer.”
“I found some nice things but forgot to type in CHEERS. It looked like it was already discounted. It is not. I spent a lot of money. It is not possible to get help from this company. They have no real customer service. It lists websites and phone numbers. NONE of them allow you to ask for help with a purchase. They may say otherwise but it is not possible regardless how many times you try. Save your time and shop at a legitimate store with access to customer service when you need it. They do not value the individual customer regardless how much you spend. I am done with them as is my family and all my friends and clients. Bad will travels fast.”
“Terrible!!! No customer service, no phone numbers for help, very sketchy business.
I just received 3 shirts and they are all pulled and snagged- if they were mine I wouldn’t even donate them. I can’t find any info on the company except that I have to pay shipping and some other costs if I even try to return. I started the process but hit a wall when it said I didn’t have the correct shipping number. It is exactly copied from their email. Never again.”
