“The service from AvantiGas is horrendous. Three separate occasions now they have messed up my DD and let our family home run out of gas.
We have a 4 year old child and were left with no heating and no hot water in the Winter months. They made no effort to deliver and made us wait 10 days, even though the DD issues, were their errors.
If you ever have to call their Customer Service, the person who answers the phone is never able to assist and with bizarre consistency, the person you actually need to speak to, is never available either. They always promise to call back and NEVER, EVER do call back. Its kind of a running joke in our household...the AvantiGas "No One Available And We Won't Call You Back" dept.
Our direct debit has gone from £150 to £175 to £250 and we are now being asked to pay £325 per month for gas. There are only two adults and a 4 year old child and we only use gas for heating a 3 bedroom house, everything else is electric......and they now claim we owe a further lump sum of over £1100, in addition to the £326 per month.
They literally have no idea what they are doing at AvantiGas. Their admin is in complete disarray. One dept has no idea what the other dept is doing. Their Customer Service is more about getting Customers OFF the phone, by offering call backs, than actually providing any Customer Service.
I could go on, but I am sure you now get an idea of how poorly managed this company is. I have started, operated and sold, three multi million pound businesses and if AvantiGas was under my control as a Director or Owner, I would be wholly ashamed of its standards and processes.”
“Don't answer the phone, don't respond to message on their contact form, website like wading through the mud due to the amount of information therein...The result?...freezing house and unable to cook...god knows what the elderly and vulnerable do...terrible...”
“Stuck in an unfair 2 year contract where Avanti can force price increases through without providing any evidence. Sure enough, 12 months is up and they are demanding an additional 8% to cover supposed Admin & Distribution increases.
Had a look at their financial accounts and their total Admin and Distribution costs for 18/19 was £35M. With turnover nearly £150M they are asking me to believe their overheads have jumped by 35% to £46M in a year!!!
Its a complete scam with the sole intention to rip off customers in the second year. I can't believe the Competition and Markets Authority haven't clamped down on these cowboys yet!
What's worse is that all the major LPG providers force you into similar 2 year contracts so you are at their mercy in the second year.”

2017 we were told they could replace our old rusty above ground tank with a new underground tank, so we signed a 3 year contract. They then told us they could not replace the old tank as their machines could not get down the drive, but we were in contract so tough.
December 2019 we phoned them when our tank was on 25% to say we needed a delivery, a couple of weeks later we were told they had failed to deliver due to the driver getting lost and not able to find us. Its was a few weeks before they tried again, so his meant Christmas with no heating or hot water, for us and our children, it wrecked Christmas!
In March we were finally out of contract so decided to move supplier, we told Avanti we were moving so please do not deliver any more gas. They then tried to deliver twice more but we managed to stop the driver and phone Avanti each time. We moved to the new supplier with a new underground tank, we told Avanti to collect their old tank as it had only 12 months of service left and the new supplier didn't want it. Instead 6pm one night whilst we were having dinner they filled the now disconnected tank with gas!! To cut a long storey short, we finally got the tank emptied and taken away in July, 4 months of phone calls and hassle and 8 weeks later they still haven't credited our account with the gas and are trying to charge us for collecting the gas and old tank.
Customer service is a complete nightmare, do not use this company!”
