“The weather was cold and there was little shelter which was compounded by long waiting times. 1 car was cancelled and the substitute Porsche was clapped out.The other car had a gear box problem which could only be driven at half powe.”
“Waiting for ac cobra to be fixed, after 3 hour wait then being told I can't change cars until they know when the car will be ready, I then gave up and went home, standing in a cold airfield, even the coffee stand was stone cold,, never again wasting money on that”
“Absolutely dreadful service. There was nothing about this experience that made me feel like I was having a fun experience: I felt like I was on a conveyer belt with them trying to extract money from me.
I was gifted a voucher to drive a lorry by a group of people that wanted to thank me for something significant that I did for them. The booking was a pain and I had to pay extra for a weekend drive (I work Monday – Friday) They wanted more money for me to pick the location most convenient to me.
I got to the location on time and had to queue for an hour to get in. Once in the queue there was a real hard sell to get the extra insurance: telling me that if another car hit me while I am standstill, I would be fully liable. I was up sold to pay for taking a passenger in with me. They tried to sell many other add on’s such as a fast lap as a passenger etc etc.
Then went in and was told it would be 20 mins until my drive… I waited 2 hours, kept getting told it would not be long, other customers complained and jumped the queue going before me. I noticed two others asking if their partners could sit in the truck with them: they were told, yes, no problem after I had to pay for my partner to come with me.
I felt like they were trying to get as much money out of me while there.
While there, multiple cars broke down or were over booked so they were asking people to swap to other cars before it got dark otherwise they would not be able to drive. It was just a mess and I will never use them again.”
“Had a fun day out with my Dad, well organised but perhaps a little too much traffic congestion. The Escort took us back to our rally days in the eighties and was the catalyst for much reminiscing later in the pub.
Thanks to Rebecca for helping with the booking, Jen for booking us in on the day and both Chris and Roy for excellent instruction.
Cheers!”
“Very overbooked. Pure greed. Hundreds of people all booked at the same time, about 40 cars on a small track. My 12 year old was really looking forward to his three cars but one was taken off at the start of the day, and by 2pm we were still waiting. Disgusting response to my complaint email as well. Would not recommend”
“Item omitted from initial booking, was corrected after querying.
On the day access road to track was diabolical (damage to car likely).
Facilities very basic. Track too small for number of cars running.
Felt like cattle market rather than a 'special experience'.”
“Had a great day driving an artic truck . The instructor was informative and fun and strict made you do the movements correctly. I felt I had achieved something at the end of the session .
I thought communication with the company was poor nobody greeted you and made you feel welcome . There were no notices on the entrance gate when we arrived and we missed our turning .
The weather was perfect which made a great improvement to the day.”
“Very bad organised, left stood in a field open to the elements for over 3hrs, complete lack for consideration for their customers. Then it off the 3 cars I'd paid to drive only got to drive 2 as they'd forgotten to put my name down for them all. One of the staff members I spoke to was very rude towards me and one of the instructors was moaning that he had to take me round the track as he wanted his tea break.”
“Time slot booked was for 2.30pm but didn’t get into a car until nearly 5pm, by which point it was dark outside (no lighting on the track) weather forecast was rain but no gazebos for people to wait in, just rows of chairs sat in the pouring rain getting soaked. Just felt poorly organised and not worth the £200 I paid for me and my mate. Enjoyed the cars themselves but wouldn’t use or recommend this company again.”
“Booked this as a present for the wife back in July. Got it through Wowcher so costs £89 for 3 laps in 3 cars (9 in total). Booked via the CCH website for a 25/11/22.
We got there and there were hundreds of cars in the car park and I was thinking this is going to be really chaotic, however, I was totally wrong.
All staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. The day was really well organised with experiences taking place in timely fashion. The instructors were all brilliant and very friendly. Listen to the instructors and you will have a super experience.
For the day I had;
James in the R8 V8 who gave brilliant advice and set me up for the other cars.
Les in the DB9 Volante who let me push the car to my limit and gave great advice
Daniel in the Corvette C7 who was great and really let me enjoy the experience.
There was extra availability on the day so snapped up a Lambo Guillardo for £35 for 3 laps and had the pleasure of Nick sitting beside me.
The instructors gave really good briefings on the car before setting of on the laps so build confidence straight away by knowing the car they are letting you drive.
As a finale we had 2 speed laps with Wes in the 330i and boy can he drive! He was a super cool guy pushing that car to its limit, tyre screeches and all. What a way to finish the day.
For £89 from Wowcher, it's a deal at twice the price. Would I do it again.........most definitely YES!
Well done Car Chase Heroes in putting together a well organised fun packed event.”
“Great day out, the organisation was 1st class, lots off folks there but the organisation was so slick I got all my 4 drives in 1 hour, no waiting around...it was intense....as for the fast lap, my driver probably was the stunt double for the film Baby Driver :). Recommended 10/10”
“I purchased the experience for my daughters birthday, she loved the whole Getting behind the wheel of a Lambourghini. The issue i have is with the £25 insurance waiver, from the moment you get there its being pushed on you,and its blatentley scare mongoring, designed to rob everyone of an extra £25,your cars will already be insured for these experiences, and the cars are equipped with dual controls, not everyone who books these experiences will have the luxury of a credit card to leave as security. You would be better making the initial price a bit more, rather than these scare tactics.Put a damper on the whole experience,so wouldnt look at doing anymore in the future”
“Track day at Castle Combe. Ques were organised to your time slot. Much more organised then other locations. Good facilities at the track.
Instructor for the E-type was excellent. Mixing old with new cars you had to constantly give way.
Staff were very helpful and enthusiastic.”
“Disappointing. Don't bother. As most have said, there is a ton of waiting around. The worst part is when you drive though. If you are lucky enough to get some free space to put your foot down you will find the cars are significantly hobbled and slow. I drove an E-Type, Huracan and GT500. In the Jag you have to change gear at 3000RPM and the other two change at 4000RPM, but all were slow. The E-Type was the fastest! Depending on who you talk to, they will either tell you that that the power is developed below 4000RPM (really!!!???) or admit that the cars are restricted in other ways. I was told at the event that 10 year olds were allowed to drive the Lambo so it had to be restricted - hardly my problem! Others then then denied it was the case. They bang on about how it's about "the experience" and not going fast... In any case - if you're used to driving a normal small engine hatchback, you might like it, but for anyone who's driven anything faster - expect disappointment.”
“Great day out, really well run and the instructors very good. I would definitely go again. The only point I would make is 3 laps is not enough in each car.”
“I enjoyed my experience very much, I'd just say there was a bit of waiting around before we actually got going, but saying that I had a fantastic time thanks”
