Whilst we're always here to help and advise we appreciate that ordering shoes in different fittings can end up in a return if the fit isn't quite perfect. Knowing that you're based in the US, we do work with a lot of stockists over there that could be better suited to order from as some do have a wide range of different fittings in stock and if anything needs to be returned it's domestic and less costly.

“I bought the Heather Full Sole in Beige. Shoes are amazingly comfortable, very soft leather with padded insoles and fit perfectly. Arrived quickly. good customer service and helpful advice on their website regarding sizing an width fitting. Very happy with the shoes.”

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review and we're glad you love us and our shoes. We really hate the impact of Brexit, believe us. In terms of a breakdown though, you're not paying VAT to us, that is part of the collection of the local taxes. Before you would pay our VAT and it would sail right through however now you pay excluding VAT, plus the shipping, then all should be due on arrival is the payment of the local VAT. The shoes are made in the UK so under the rules of origin, there shouldn't be any duty, just VAT and perhaps a clearance fee (which is tiny in some countries, a bit more in others, but it is always worth querying anything when you make a payment as sometimes clearance fees can vary!).

“I wanted to love the shoes (Bella in IDS heel) however, the size I ordered was too tight on my toes and front of foot. I had previously tried this size and it worked well. After reaching to customer service I was told they updated sizing back in 2020 and they said the shoe I previously tried on was probably a model using the older sizing. I was disappointed when they told me that even though the issue was probably their new sizing chart, that they would not help exchange this with shipping covered by IDS. Because the shipping cost between the return and exchange would equal getting a new shoe I decided it was not worth it, especially because I was nervous the exchange would also not fit correctly. I tried using the shoes in hopes that after they break-in a little they would work ok but after some time it caused too much pain on my feet and also I noticed the fabric was very easily starting to have threads peeling.”

My only gripe is when exchanging the same shoe for a different size having to pay postage again. What with paying to return then and twice for delivery, it made the shoes very expensive. Thanks for taking the time to review us and we're very happy you really like your shoes and our service. We wish we were able to offer free postage and returns for exchanges but sadly, it's not something that we can afford to offer. We're not the biggest business and we're very much a family business and offering free return postage would probably do more harm than good as that's what the footwear business is like sadly! Shoemaking in the UK is very expensive and unfortunately, we can't do it. We offer free postage on orders of £140 and if one day we can do more in terms of returns/exchanges, we will always try our best!
