“We decided to fit a gate to our property and visited the showroom at North Valley Forge, which has an expansive display of gates. We did not know which one to get or whether to replace our old farmhouse gate posts and we arranged for a site visit and a survey to be carried out. We got lots of helpful advice and we went away to think about it. When we eventually returned, we had a much better idea of what we wanted and North Valley Forge once more surveyed our premises to make sure that what we wanted would work. They drew up some plans for our approval and we returned on several occasions with minor amendments before we selected the final design. Both when selecting the original gate or when amending our plans, nothing was too much trouble and often when calling at their premises, you would bump into the Managing Director, Peter Ratcliffe. I was impressed that he was rarely hiding away in an ivory tower, but was often “up front” meeting customers. We placed our order and there was a little delay before they could supply our gate, as they were very busy. (I am not surprised). When they came to fit the gate, it involved several of their engineers and each one was pleasant and helpful and each one could not do enough. We were very pleased with the gate and the automatic controls which had been fitted and ironically, no sooner had we paid the bill, then the control box developed a fault. I telephoned them in the morning and by lunch time, an engineer had arrived to replace the box. This is typical of the service which we have experienced from this firm. This is the culture which runs throughout the business. All their employees go out of their way to be helpful. This applies from the moment that you walk through the door and meet their reception team, all the way to the very top. We are delighted with our new gate. It looks good, it has been manufactured to a high standard and I feel sure that it will outlive me. North Valley Forge may not be the cheapest, but in life, you get what you pay for and a low price does not often represent value for money. I feel that I have got value for money and I cannot recommend this firm highly enough.”

“Excellent support from my first phone call with gate problem. Andy the technical support was really helpful over the phone in trying to help resolve the issue remotely, however still required site visit. Craig the engineer arrived as booked and was knowledgable, friendly and a pleasure to talk to. In all my communication I have found the staff to be very customer focused and willing to do what is necessary to resolve the problem with the least impact to the customer. Kelly organised everuthing quickly abd efficiently. Excellent after sales customer service and definitely recommend North Valley Forge.”

“I ordered both gates and underground automation from North Valley Forge with the expectation that I could successfully install them both. I completed the installation after receiving what was enormous help from North Valley’s Craig McLaughlan. The quality of the gates, the Rogers Automation and Craig’s considerable help provided me with the means to achieve exactly what I wanted. “If you are thinking about getting gates the single best piece of advice I can give you is: use North Valley Forge. They were, quite literally, exceptional. Their designs, quality, range of options were all beautiful. What really, truly made them exemplary however was two things: 1) Customer Service. I have been a loyal customer of some of the most prestigious companies and shops in the country and the customer service I received from NVF was among the best I have ever had. Simply put: if you’re not 100% happy, neither are they. On the rare chance something is not 100% right, they WILL put it right. Without quibble, without trying to upsell, without delay. 2) Empowerment and effective problem solving. Far too many contractors/ tradespersons these days turn up, do what the tick sheet says, and hand you the bill. Not in this case. The people and specialists who work for NVF actually doing the installing clearly enjoyed what they did and enjoyed working for NVF. Best of all, they were empowered and trusted to use their experience and situational awareness to agree deviating from the plan with you as the project evolved- without ratcheting up the agreed price. This was to ensure you get the effect you actually want instead of the exact dimensions you agreed at the start of the process. They anticipate potential problems or benefits/ improvements well ahead of time and act accordingly. Head office would then be back-briefed that the plan had changed and it would be actioned happily. There was no micro-management, bureaucracy, or penny-pinching and profiteering. It was like working with genuine craftspeople as opposed to just contractors. It was an absolute delight to work with North Valley. I would, and have, recommend them to anyone with evangelical fervour, including you, dear reader.”

“NFV helped us design and then manufactured a stunning balustrade for our garden. It represents the wildlife seen in and around our pond and is a fabulous centre piece to our garden and talking point whenever we have visitors. It really did surpass expectations and we’re genuinely delighted with what they have achieved……they also made and fitted some wrought iron driveway gates which have also been personalised. All in all great to deal with and amazingly skilful iron workers. We can highly recommend NVF.”

“Project to automate my gates started with a presentation of the recommended product for the site and all questions answred to my satisfaction. The installation date was set, two days in all. The work was completed as per forecast and done professionally and tidily! Handover and instruction on operation of the gates was the final part of the project and I am completely satisfied with the result. Many thanks NVF.”

“North Valley Forge designed and installed 2 sets of substantial wooden gates for us over 6 years ago. They have been transformative, giving us much needed privacy, security and looking very much in keeping with our Victorian house. Signing up to their service plan is highly recommended. Electrics and weather mean there are always unexpected issues, however NVF always deal with any isues really promptly and their staff are knowlegeable and super friendly. Just this week David came to look at one set of gats which weren't fully closing, resolving the matter quickly despite the dreadful weather. He's a credit to the company, along with Kelly in the office who is really efficient.”
