Unfortunately, despite numerous telephone conversations with the tactical department neither they nor I could get it to pick up a satellite signal. I therefore returned it within the statutory period however my reimbursement was not quite what I paid for it.”

“As a long time user of RAs (have three) going right back to the B2 origins, I was at the point of upgrading my elderly units that were struggling with the size of the current updates. Did think twice about it as the database seems to be struggling to keep up with the changes in the roadworks average speed sections these days and I'm starting to get my head around Waze now that cars have Appleplay.
The subscription is now a not inconsiderable £200/year and for that I'd be expecting perfection. The massive diappointment however was the new hardware, the same body moulding but for some reason the base has been changed so every vehicle will need to be re-fitted. The base is no longer the electral connection, just a magnetic base, but the price of them has gone up astronomically compared to the old - if they actually have any in stock. The small bit of good news is that it grips the base more strongly than the previous. The bad news is that you now need to connect the power cable into the unit directly, with the number of failures of the previous socket I've seen I hope that it is improved in this version. I move units between vehicles so I can see issues from the connector from frequent use.
What should have been a simple upgrade of a unit that has been part of my motoring for over a decade has been a massive disappointment and has actually left me quite angry, my direct complaint to RA got a glib reply and after that I was just ignored. If I was running the business and needing as many £200 subscriptions as I could get, I would be making the hurdle to get my loyal customers onto current units as low as possible.”
“Only just had the halo ultimate fitted by a auto electrician and he didn't use the C to C adapter that was in the box. I fitted it myself but then asked questions about time lapse and parking mode couldn't get both to work then told you can only use 1 or the other not both. Didn't see anything in the instructions about this. Like the system but only installed on 1st February 2025 so not had much use of it yet.”

“Negative: The Ultima has no screen on it so you can only see the scene if you connect to your phone which is such a shame! Can’t swivel the dash cam around once it’s mounted on the window like I was able to with a Nextbase dash cam. Is slightly bigger than the Nextbase dash cams.
Positive: clear 4k view on the phone. Slightly wider view than Nextbase. Easier to connect and navigate on the phone than Nextbase.
Overall Road Angel in my opinion is better than Nextbase but just buy the one that has a screen on the dash cam not the Ultima.”

“We have had 2 road angel pure units for about 4 years. The subscription is expensive but dealing directly with customer services rather than renewing online dues usually result in a discount. Recent updates (about 12 months) have always required plugging into a PC to complete. So not quite OTA.”
“Not impressed, dash cam received was obviously not new, box was not wrapped with heat shrunk polythene,instruction leaflet was torn and looked used, electrostatic sticker was missing and dash cam had fine scratches by the usb port, after a week it went into a loop of emergency recording and recorded 52 events in a 20 minute journey, contacted customer services and the guy obviously didn't know his products, he said pressure the reset button, there isn't one on the halo ignite, he then said press the power button 5 times, there is no power button, have managed to stop the fault by unplugging the hard wire usb c connector, I'm giving it another week to see how it goes but road angel are only interested in repairing it, which I'm not happy about as it's only just over a week old and should be replaced, never again, shame on you for selling repaired repackaged stock as new !!!”

“Good products, when on offer very good value too. I have down rated my review because I have recently found that new products are incompatible with previous version mounts. Current mounts are very expensive and out of stock. So having spent £200 I have an unusable product which I have relied upon for at least 15 years (in previous incarnations)”

“I phoned Road Angel Customer Services on a couple of occasions to get advice for how to mount my existing Road Angel Pure on my windscreen in order not to stick any pads on a full leather dashboard. They suggested the windscreen mount. As standard, it comes with a self-adhesive pad fixing and I wanted to be able to remove the mount entirely as required. They found me the suction cup mount and assured me that it provided a very solid fixing. Although I was sceptical at first, having experienced some vibration-prone windscreen mounts in the past, but decided to give it a try. Their patient, informed approach towards my questions was commendable and absolutely correct. It works a treat. Well done Customer Services!”

“The speed camera was faulty, on returning it the person Alex Mangli was hopeless in dealing with the situation, refusing to send a replacemet.
It had to be the repaired item, I refused this but he said it was not possible to get a new one. I was then told the item had not been received but the tracking proved it had been 5 day previously???
