“I want to share my personal experience and warn you about the deceptive practices of StarofService. They claim to offer lead generation services, but in reality, they deliver nothing but frustration and empty promises. Here's my story:
Firstly, their leads were absolutely worthless. Not a single phone number worked, and I had zero contact with any potential prospects. It was a complete waste of time and money.
When StarofService announced they were transitioning to a paid service, I made it clear that I was not interested. I emailed them multiple times expressing my disinterest, but all I received in response were generic messages redirecting me to their cancellation page.
As if that wasn't enough, they then sent me an 8-page form to fill out just to cancel my account. This form asked for unnecessary and excessive personal information, far beyond what is required for a simple cancellation process. It was a blatant attempt to gather more data and potentially misuse it.
I strongly advise against providing StarofService with any financial information. Their practices are questionable, and it's clear they cannot be trusted with sensitive data.
Furthermore, despite repeatedly requesting to cancel my account and stop receiving their emails, they continued to bombard me with messages, even offering a 50% discount. It's clear they have no regard for customer requests and are desperate to keep their claws in unsuspecting businesses.
Save yourself the trouble and steer clear of StarofService. Don't be lured by their false promises. Protect your financial information and avoid engaging with this untrustworthy company.
Let this serve as a warning to others: Stay away from StarofService and their deceitful tactics. Your business deserves better treatment and more reliable service providers.”
“They should Rename it to 1 StarOfService!! I started a free account was clear I didn't want to have a paid account. they said just need cc to verify the person or some bs like that. I got leads from everywhere that's not in my area broke down and tried the leads looking for online training even though I don't do it. never had a phone number work or contact with any prospects. when they said the service was moving to paid, I told them i was not interested emailed several times got the same to read their cvancelation page. eventually getting a 8 page form to fill out that wants more info than they need to cancel. stay away dont give them any financial info. BTW for the 3rd time cancel my account and stop emailing me for 50% dicount 1 StarOfService”
“I was happy with the service for a year since I have been receiving some clients from them. They have good SEO which I think is their greatest advantage but their system is really unstable. They keep on changing their protocols and subscription fee. Recently I was charged with 4x my usual monthly premium because they said that they have upgraded their fee. And they did it without my consent! I never wanted to upgrade because the fee is simply very expensive. Now, I am trying to get a refund but they are refusing. The cancellation process is also very long, will ask you so many questions. If they are not scammers, it feels like the management of their business is very poor. The business has a potential but I think they are more focused on getting profits.”
“Completely scam.
They charged my credit card while i was still on trial til oct 2023 lol
What a scam company.
Their customer service is useless. They dont give a damn about your question”
“Don't touch them with a 10 ft pole, they are thieves. I had a free account as a service provider, pay per use if you want to contact a client. Never got any jobs from them. 8 months in, they just started charging my credit card $139/month. After digging through my junk email box I find a message from them saying they have decided to convert all free accounts to premium accounts, and then just started charging my card. I'm pretty sure this is International Wire Fraud. I didn't mess up and do the typical 'agree to a free trial and then forget to cancel', I had a free account that they changed to a paid account without my permission. Also, the process to cancel is very complicated and convoluted. Click on close my account, it says "Can't close your account because you have an active subscription", click Cancel my subscription, and it says contact us. Send an email to cancel, and get a form email back that says to fill out a cancellation form online, then you have to email again to confirm that it was you that filled out the form. If the stuff you filled out on the form doesn't match the info on your account exactly, they won't cancel the account. They are 100% scammers. DON'T DEAL WITH THEM! They won't send you any clients and they will steal your money.”
“they are rubbers, they don´t wanna leave you. Free month or free cancellation anytime are foreigner words there. Cancel is possible with cancellation fee and pay one or two month more!! Rubbers!! And time killers!!
They give for you 18 sites long questions (around 50 questions) an amazon questionary, but on the 18th site they wanna have your credit card details!! Fraud!!”
“I signed up a number of years ago with Star of Service as a service provider. I paid for the "subscription" and listed my business. Despite having a detailed profile, I received only 2 jobs in over 3 years of membership with them.
Then they put their prices up to $94 a month - Way too expensive for the returns, so I went back to being a "free member". Then the "special offer" emails started... 50% off if you paid nearly $1,000 a year, plus a week of "premium" service for free if you signed up and paid for the whole year upfront.
I emailed them numerous times and told them they were too expensive, and they dropped their price to $47 a month, but only if I bought a whole year upfront.
I emailed them again and told them for me to continue using them that they'd have to drop their prices, or make it "pay per job done" like they used to. They continued with the emails stating they'd give me a month free if I bought a yearly subscription upfront for almost $1,000.
After numerous emails back and forth, they emailed me and offered me a week free - there was absolutely NO mention of any money, NO mention of this free offer converting to a paid membership after the week finished, nothing.
I took the week free, and then they tried to charge my PayPal account for almost $1,000. They sent invoices for something that I'd never bought or signed up to, and I emailed them and told them that. Then the emails from Star of Service continued... "We were unable to charge your card"... "Please pay your invoice" etc...
I emailed them back and told them that I hadn't purchased anything, nor had I signed up for anything. The emails with the invoice attached continued, along with demands for payment.
I emailed them and told them they didnt have my authority to charge my PayPal account or my credit card, but they persisted for well over 6 weeks.
They tried and tried to charge my PayPal account for almost $1,000 for something that I'd never even bought!
After a barrage of email ping pong, I told them they could cancel and delete my account with them. The invoices continued to arrive with demands for payment.
I cancelled my account with them, and deleted it. The emails and demands for payment continued. I emailed them back and told them I didn't have an account with them, and that as a result of their continued fraudulent business practices, I had cancelled both my PayPal account and my credit card.
The emails, invoices and demands for payment continued.
I emailed them again (yawn) and told them that I was going to post negative reviews about them. Tonight I get an email (from the same idiot that was sending the invoices) and he tells me that my email address is banned from their website for "breach of contract". What contract? I never signed or entered into any "contract" with them... I asked them to provide me a copy of said "contract" with my signature on it.
I'm still waiting for a reply.”
“The website is a scam. From false and abusive marketing to agressive charging, this is a typical scam website. The 'company' is flagging the bad reviews in other review websites which tells you all. I'm taking legal action.”
“Luckily I am early to the party on this one.
I’ve recently started to get emails from this company telling me that they have enquiries from a client who can use our services.
I’ve ignored them, but they have become more and more demanding with badly written, quite rude messages asking why I’m not taking their offer up.
Guess what ? I’m STILL not taking it up, and I’ve blocked them. They’re clearly scammers, and I suggest you all do the same.”
“Absolute Rip-off platform.
Please do not fall for it. The only email that comes is upgrade their service to yearly plans. No Lead, and wasted $84. Wasted so much time creating the profile.”
“They took money from a card that I had deleted from the system! The kept my card information and they charged it! I sent them the proof that the card there is not on my system and they dont give me my money back! Be careful! Its a scam”
“DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!!!!!!
If there was 0 stars - this company would get it from me. I signed up for a free trial, which was advertised at 7 day period. I cancelled the service on 6th day. They still took the full yearly payment of £240 and refused to reimburse it when I raised the issue. Their argument was that the trial was only 3 days and I should have cancelled then. Complete waste of money. The jobs are not relevant to my industry at all. I wish I never signed up for this scam! TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!!!”
“It is a real fraud.
The first thing they do is ask you for a payment method, and if you're unlucky at some point they'll charge you for something you haven't contracted.
Now they also charge even to contact alleged clients, which do not exist. I never got clients, even if I contacted them I never got an answer.
They has wasted my time and above all, they have taken money from me without my consent and they have not wanted to return it to me.
Do not confess on that website!”
“I was using this platform for around 5 months .its very helpful for me to get clients. after canceling my packages I renewed the subscription again on 27-05-2022.but they are telling me I need to renew my subscription again, and i already paid the amount and I raised multiple complaint tickets I don't get any customer support from there. they are so irresponsible and not helping its complete a scam”
“BEWARE - total scam. They charged my £90 for sending me two emails. I complained several times over past week but to date they refuse to help or understand that this is an unfair amount.
I now have to generate a dispute with my bank to try and get a refund. Strongly suggest you do not use this company”
