I bought the 2 pack of red/pink 4.5 micromodal trunks on clearance hoping that they would work for hiking. And did they ever! The 4.5" are the perfect length for my 5" hiking shorts and the leg trim is a bit looser than my cotton Tomboyx styles so they stayed DOWN despite all the hiking and climbing. The fabric didn't stick to me when I got sweaty so getting things back together after dropping my drawers to pee wasn't an issue (seriousLy - try to quickly pull up sweaty cotton undies when someone surprises you mid-pee). They breathed and dried well while wearing so there was no chaffing. And they didn't hold odor ( we won't discus that). The week after I got home, I wore these under a clingy dress for a job interview. Not being a dress person, a little more coverage is a good thing but these didn't make me feel like I was wearing bike shorts like a little kid - the fabric smoothed things out, the dress didn't cling and the leg seams weren't bulky/sowing through the fabric.. Seriously - I am LOVING these and will be buying more! Love Love Love!
