After watching the assembly videos I had the iWALK ready to go in about 10 minutes. There is no complicated assembly. I didn't find it hard to balance and used the hand steadying handle at the front of the crutch to get going. By the end of day one I could get up and down stairs and stand and cook. I used the iWALK for my first hospital appointment and my “amazing contraption” as the consultant called it got lots of admiring glances. It's not possible to sit down wearing the iWALK 3.0 but that's a limitation of injury and you simply have to plan ahead. It's very easy to take on and off once you've made the initial adjustments to tailor the fit and so it's just a matter of taking your time when taking it off to sit down and to get up and start walking again.
It's only week 3 of my Achilles' tendon rupture and I've been using the iWALK for two weeks and it really has made being injured much easier to live with and made it possible to do things that I wouldn't have been able to do for months.
