If you have broken your foot or ankle this is the thing for you - it made my life bearable through a really really tough injury.
I am now tentatively walking again after shattering my talus (a bone in your ankle) and this knee crutch was an absolute game-changer. I had a mountain biking accident about 15 weeks ago and broke my talus, shoulder, elbow, and ribs - it sucked - I couldn't walk but I also couldn't use crutches to get around because of the broken shoulder and elbow. The first week of the injury I basically couldn't do anything and needed to hop everywhere in a lot of pain when I needed to move. A friend mentioned she had seen Harrison Ford on some mad knee crutch thing so I looked it up and it turned out to be this. It was pretty expensive (about £187) but I bought it anyway because I knew I had a very long road ahead. It was honestly the best decision I made throughout the course of my recovery - I could suddenly get into the kitchen, get to the shops, carry things while walking, get up stairs, I even went to our work summer party and was able to stand up for the majority of the evening nursing a pint (only one pint, it seemed risky to be on one leg and drinking!). Getting up stairs was sketchy at first but once you got the technique down (slowly up, backwards down) it was very manageable. You are unlikely to be covering a lot of distance on this but I was easily able to get to the shop and back which is probably over 1km round trip. There was a bit of chafing from the straps which is solvable with extra foam I nabbed from my bike helmet.
If you have the money, get this, it made life much less miserable.
