I previously purchased the black version of these pants in a large, however, they were a little bit loose so I wanted to see what the medium size was like. I ordered them in gray in medium. After trying them on, I decided to keep them both. The gray medium is a little more fitted than the black large, though not tight. The gray fabric is a little less shiny than the black fabric, and it’s also a little stiffer/heavier with less give than the black. The black has a soft, shiny, satiny type of feel to it that drapes very nicely. The black can have a dressier look to it, whereas the gray looks more casual. I think the loser size feels a little cooler in the summer, I’m not sure if that’s because the fabric is a little different or because there’s more airflow. I also think that come fall in winter I can wear the larger pants with a pair of leggings under them for warmth. I plan to wear the gray ones when I sit on the deck on the summer night to avoid the mosquitoes and bugs, if I take a walk in the evening, or a hike in the woods. It’s also important to mention that I am almost 5‘10“ tall, 135 pounds, and I was concerned that these would not be long enough for me. However, I was happy to find that they come right to the top of my tennis shoes. I feel that they’re just long enough. It helps that the hem is narrower at the bottom. I’m very happy with the pants and I always recommend Insect Shield products to my friends and family.
