Truthfully, I’m not thrilled with this product. While it’s not a total disappointment, it’ definitely didn’t live up to my expectations —or perhaps I should say my hopes as I thought it might have been too good to be true—and I was right. On the plus side it was cut perfectly to size. In addition, it was shipped quickly for something that was custom made. But the cons outweighed the pros. First was the off-gassing (strong chemical smell from the plastic) which, honestly, I was expecting, and can live with as that is usually a temporary thing. The real bummer is the fact that the mat simply doesn’t lie flat on the table, which is a problem. When I saw that it came rolled up in a box my heart sank. I knew it wasn’t going to be flat. While I understand why that makes sense for shipping I don’t think the mat is ever going sit properly on my table. Instead it’s full of lumps and ripples. I’m trying to flatten it out by placing heavy items on top but thus far it’s not working. If it works itself out, I’ll post an update.
