I bought a pair of bergaus hiking boots from your store and the stitching in one boot has come apart which I think is a defect but I'm no expert. I emailed bergaus directly and this was there response; ref:_00D0Oqty6._5001r2re3cy:ref Subject: Boots       Hi, Thanks for getting in touch. We always like to know when you think a piece of kit has let you down and we’ll do what we can to put it right. Quality is a key thing for us so when you think something has failed we take it very seriously. In fact we have a team dedicated to casting their expert eyes over your returns to check out materials and manufacturing for faults. So, we are most definitely on your side. Here’s what to do first. 1. Take the kit back to the store you bought it. Sorry, we know it may be a trek but the store is actually where your legal rights lie and they can sort it quicker than us. Don't worry if you're passed their usual returns period - they must still handle your return if the item is faulty. They can either: - Replace it. - Give you your money back on the spot. - Send it to us for inspection at no postage cost, but this is at their discretion. When it comes back to us, our team will assess it. This can take up to 10 working days. We’ll then let you know whether it’s a fault, or general wear and tear. If it’s a fault, we’ll try and replace the item for you, or if that’s not possible, you can get a full refund from the store that you bought it from. Job done. 2. If you bought your item on holiday, you can return to any store in the same chain, or some independent stores prefer you to post returns directly to them. The phone number’s usually on the receipt so give them a ring beforehand to check what’s best. 3. If the store has already told you to get in touch with us, they are passing the buck a little. Please take this email and ask them to help you again. We have an expert team with a keen eye and they’ll help you all they can when a product is genuinely faulty. However, we can’t help with things like general wear and tear, age or accidental damage. Registered Address: 8 Manchester Square, London, W1U   I have taken the boots back to blacks and your staff wouldn't help, they told me they would not take the boots back and they would not take and forward them on to bergaus and await there direct response and I was to do so myself and they couldn't help. I have now contacted bergaus directly and inform them of my conversation with blacks staff and there unwillingness to even consider to send them back to bergaus directly for there investigation to the stitching problem. I feel very disappointed in blacks as I've shopped there alot ie, clothes, boots, camping equipment, tents, gadgets etc, before lock down i purchased £450 worth of goods in one visit and I feel you'll take my money ASAP but one problem I have ever had and blacks have really let me down and not even consider helping me. I ordered a "grown up" man mountain bike (£509) to receive a parcel with a "little diva girl" bicycle. Outrageous. Now it seems that i have to manage their glitch sending back the item with a fulfilled form that i never received with my order. Double outrageous. Awful, I have the feeling that I will lose my money?

Waited nearly 4 weeks then the tracking system did not move blacks and hermes were blaming each other said lost in transit hermes said never recieved them then could not talk to anybody automated then sent me the wrong boots another 2 weeks on still waiting for refund will never shop with them again and certainly will not recommend them to anybody

I ordered some sandals at the start of June. 7 days later the wrong sandals arrived and they tried to suggest I ordered them incorrectly. I showed them the confirmation and they eventually agreed with me and advised I must send them back. I drove 6 miles to leave them in an Inpost locker, the tracking says they were picked up 11 days ago but I have heard nothing. I have paid for the sandals but nearly a month after purchase I have noting and no indication of what is happening. No one to call and no responses via email. Truly awful, not recommended.

A month ago I bought a bike through this store, "blacks", after not arriving the day that was supposed, I wrote several emails to which I was not answered. Until I wrote my first negative reveiw on this page they did not answer me, a fact that I find regrettable. her answer was this: "I have investigated the whereabouts of your parcel and regrettably, it appears to have been lost in transit. I have launched an investigation with the courier to discover what has happened to your order and to safeguard against this happening again. On this occasion we are unable to offer you a replacement due to us not being able to replace orders so a refund has been processed to the original payment method used " What am I supposed to do with all the equipment I buy for my "new bike"? Being one of the most important sports stores in England, shouldn't they have offered me another product with similar characteristics even with a discount ? The worst thing of all is that they have refunded me less money than they had to return, and after all they have made me go through this is unacceptable, I hope that someone will read this and return all the money including the shipping.

Spedisce oggetto sbagliato e dopo un mese dall'ordine e dalla mia segnalazione comunicano che e io mi devo occupare di rispedirlo con mia responsabilità e costo... Mandano dieci email da persone diverse con un sacco di parole, ma il problema non vogliono risolverlo. Ho pagato per un prodotto, ne inviano uno diverso e più economico.... in sintesi se ne fregano.

Bought a bike from blacks beginnings of last week, I've had notifications from them saying they've got the bike and its "making its way through the warehouse" the usual automated stuff... then suddenly today cancelled for no apparent reason thats over £1000 of my money I have to wait for up to 5 days - I've missed other opportunities because of this. If the bike was out of stock your website should have said this! I am not the only one this has happened to either tustpilot is showing that many people are having problems with this! I'm just glad it wasn't a birthday recked like some. Terrible customer service everything is just automated responses.

Same problem as others have had. Ordered from them 3 weeks before a friend's birthday in the hope of getting them something small during this lock down. It was only a gesture, and, to make the postage cost more effective, I also ordered a pair of socks. No sign of anything as the date passed their birthday! Finally I was told that the other item, a hat, was no longer in stock!!! Perhaps if it had been dispatched when ordered it might have been? Is it my fauklt their dreadful stock system exists? So, anyway, they sent the socks, to be too late to be any use either. They refuse to refund the p&P, meaning these basic socks have cost me over £13. I only ordered them to ensure the hat was better value. Ages for customer service to respond although thy have done a few times today. Won't refund the postage as I requested, then after exchanging a few more vehement emails was told if I ordered again they would refund my postage once my items have been received! Well, why can't they do that now??? What a useless company. I fail to see how companies cannot appreciate the impact thattheir dreadful service has oin customers. No, I shall not be ordering from them again, ever! A good company respects their customers - very clearly, Black's do not. I used to also shop regularly at their Stratford upon Avon store. When it reopens, I shall no longer be using it, especially having seen the terrible customer service that others' here report!

I have decided to forget this bad experience and forego the refund, I have gone straight to the bin with damaged unusable goods, I would not recommend your Company to anybody. i think this will be the best decision for my sanity because reading all the very negative reviews it would only annoy me trying to get £24.99 back from your Company. I have a very reputable Company that will be reopened after lockdown called Charles Camping that i will be delighted to do business with.

I recieved my order this morning in a plastic bag, 8 enamel mugs loose in a bag.....so they were thrown around, dented, damaged, enamel chipped making them absolutely useless, patethic way to dispatch goods.

Ordered some boots 7 days ago. Tracking says they are still in warehouse! Customer Service were no help at all when contacted them. Have requested a refund but not confident that this is going to happen any time soon. Will never use Blacks ever again. Simply dreadful company.

Totally disappointed with Blacks. I made an order on the 23rd April which was cancelled due to the payment decline. I re-ordered and paid with a different card, the order went through on the same day. On the 5th May I received my order, but when I opened the box, only half of the items was there and half was missing. I have contacted (via email as no one answers the phone) Blacks at least 5 times to look into it and instead they closed my case. Over 2 weeks later, I have not received refund, no answer and no items. If Blacks team you read this I would be grateful if you could respond to my emails and make a refund.

Enquired to blacks.co.uk regarding a price guarantee which I had found. Contacted customer service and got no response so sale lost for blacks. Over £1000.

How does this company stay in business. Like so many others my order was cancelled due to stock availability. They seem to be oblivious to any criticism. Unbelievable don't care attitude.

Like other reviewers my order was cancelled with no explanation but website still shows item in stock. Presumably other would be customers are ordering the same item only for it to be cancelled like mine. Never before come across such a disorganised company.

Disorganised, dishonest customer service and carrier! To explain the situation... .made a substantial order with PayPal, registered PayPal address was automatically selected as shipping address. .called 10 minutes later to explain mistake and was told emphatically that order would be cancelled and not to worry. . No cancellation confirmation so called back again. Was once again told not to worry, that it was just processing on the system and would be cancelled before leaving the warehouse and that even if we received a confirmation email I could call to make sure it was cancelled. . Got an email to say order being shipped. So called again, told not to worry and we can cancell it at this point. .got another confirmatio email. Called again, but calls no longer being taken due to coronavirus. Emailed and was told that parcel would be returned to sender TWICE! .Hermes confirmed parcel had been delivered. Picture of the parcel left lying outside our house on the street!!! No one has been at the address since (as we explained we got stuck 300 miles away for quarantine!) we know no one living in the area and none of our neighbours. .asked to fill in a claim form a month ago and got a response today. "Your claim has been unsucessfull as the parcel was delivered to the original address" in my view, it is wholly unacceptable for a company like this not to take responsibility for their lack of taking action on promises made by customer service representatives and/or the ineptitude of their carriers. **EDIT** they replied to this review o another site saying they were sorry and had e-mailed me. The response I got was "your parcel was delivered". I literally have the photo from Hermes showing it lying on the pavement. They are refusing to tell me how to take the complaint further and seem to be implying it's my fault the parcel has been left on the street for 5 weeks.
