“Terrible Service!!!. They doubled price for the year, My partner kindly declined by email, after speaking to 3 different people, who really had no interest once he told them he wished to cancel. They even refused to send him an itemised quote. They are now denying receiving the email and are threatening court action. Avoid this company like the plague!!!!!!!!!!”

“Neighbours said what a good firm solid stone paving was. Got them to do some block work and have been very pleased with the finished work Would recommend them to anybody and have no qualms to use them again. The team who did our paving where polite and cleaned the site up and left no mess anywhere.”

“I employed Stately Construction Ltd through Check a trade to do maintenance on our roof. The company were prompt, very efficient, friendly and cleaned up the mess they made. My husband and I are very pleased with the work carried. I recommend them if you want any work done on your roof.”

“As a checkatrade costumer for Seven years with all good reviews I asked for my son to come and work with me as he was an x client of there's i did not think there would be a problem Then checkatrade sent me a text saying that my son had a ccj so i was suspended on the spot I told them if there was a problem with my son just leave him of and i will carry on as i have done for the last 7 years I pay over £2000 a year and they said i still had to carry on paying that even though i was suspended terrible way to be treated after all this time”

“Will never use again. Clearly don't check tradesman. Got ripped off by someone who charged me for a roof repair that he didn't do. Thankfully got money back. Will never use this again”

“They are the worst company out there for advertising with. Managers know nothing about trades and accept bad reviews that are false and favour the false accusers instead of their trades who pay the money I have asked them to remove my details and will be passing on the info to others so that they learn to trust their trades instead of people who are out to ruin people for fun Never use them again and I recommend the same to anyone else”

“Fowler fencing is a good and trustworthy company. Worked on my 2 fences and did brilliant job in time and with affordable price. They are based in Swindon.”

“I'm a trader with them and they never called me back. I've emailed, had numerous phone calls to them and the person to speak to is unavailable at moment and we call you back, NEVER happens. Terrible service”

“The thing to remember with Checkatrade is that they rely on having trades people on their books. The consequence of this is you will very rarely find a negative customer review of one of the companies who use them. The company i used let me down but Checkatrade would not publish a negative review but instead claimed they would "monitor" the company. So just beware when reading all those glowing reviews.”

“Checkatrade used to be good before Homeserve got involved. Our enquiries died a sudden death! Needless to say we cancelled our membership and have moved on to better things. We are now registered with the Better Business Group (BBG) and have been for two years and we would highly recommended them. We have recently been inundated with calls from Checkatrade asking us to re-join.... not a chance! Don't waste your time or money!!”

“Pennine Home improvements North East. I would prefer to rate this company as zero. My organgery/conservatory was started in June 2019 and still has not been finished. Two weeks before Xmas, I was left with an uneven floor, despite 6/7 attempts by them to level it with my kitchen, no heating in my conservatory, and old dust rag (left by them) to stop the dust and wind blowing into my kitchen area. My new furniture was building up and had to be stored in my dining area- the Ops Director attended my property and he was nothing short of arrogant and intimidating. This was witnessed by a two people in my home at that time. Now June 2020, no skirting boards, plaster cracks, inadequate sealant, uneven window sills and I have paid £20,000 for this. I had to pay £400 to get the floor re levelled by a professional company and all the Ops Director could say was that he refused to complete the work until I promised to pay another £2,500. This is despite their constantly poor customer service to me on so many occasions. I am not alone in my experiences and have uncovered local people who have also had issues with this company. I really cannot stress this enough - steer clear!”
