“Received letter from Halifax about my bonus saver needing to be renewed by October. On the letter, it gave options for logging in, telephone banking or to book an appointment at branch. Decided to go to the bank, was told that even though there is an option to book appointments, they do not do this anymore and soon the option will be removed from correspondence!! So, I phoned Halifax, bright and early next morning, to be told I should renew the bonus saver closer to the date. So, why did they send out a letter clearly stating that "I could renew at any time I want and will get the interest rate on the day I choose to do this", their wording. A total waste of time, both occasions I have dealt with Halifax this week. They used to be a good bank, with very nice staff, but now they seem to have no time for people who do not want internet banking. I presume if we all had internet banking, staff would not have to deal with customers anymore.”

“I have been a loyal customer of Halifax for many years, but my recent experience has left me deeply disappointed and frustrated. If you are unfortunate enough to encounter contactless fraud, do not expect them to help you, even if you have strong, objective evidence that it wasn't you. Their lack of proper investigation, poor customer service, and refusal to acknowledge the possibility of fraud is embarrassing for a bank.
I urge anyone considering Halifax to think twice and avoid them at all costs. They sent my new credit card to my old address, sent letters to outdated email addresses which they shouldn't even store due to GDPR, and repeatedly addressed me by the wrong name.”

“Been trying for 3 weeks for a paper copy of my current account monthly statement and I have had nothing but lies from Halifax, its lost in the post, the rubbish excuses they come out with. Now I will have to close my accounts with the Halifax bank and go to a bank that are more helpful without the paper statement I can't get my private pension paid into my account, as the pension company won't release the money and they won't accept an electronic statement for security reasons. “Apparently if you purchase something on line which ever company you use their entitled to take money out when they want , fraud told me this also insinuated that my 16 yr old daughter has used my account one time and ordered computer software or something never even received what my daughter was accused of buying which ended up as fraud and denied a refund .
Now it's happened again I'm fast asleep told them what my last transaction before we all went to sleep to wake with no money in my account but because it was my IP address I've spent the money .... 3 witnesses that night and I'm still fighting for it now before I close this account..... 30 yrs I've been with the Halifax and you get accused made out a liar it's vile to say the least

“What has happened to Halifax? They have become so incompetent and unhelpful causing me far too much stress recently. They won't help with fraud, there's no customer service, the queues in the branch are ridiculous (probably because they are only open approx 25 hours a week, they do not listen to what you need & have sent me a bank card with the wrong name on despite lengthy time I took to ensure all details were correct on the form I filled out. They changed my mother's maiden name (security) question to my current surname, firstly suggesting that I was an illegitimate child and secondly making it impossible to pass security. The final straw was when I was in a branch waiting for a friend to do his banking and a security guard asked me what I was doing there! What an affront, how very dare you, you tsotsi! The good news is my son wants a cowboy outfit, so I'm buying him shares in Halifax.”
“Halifax are criminally negligent towards their customers. In my case they randomly changed my surname then regardless of many calls and even a letter sent to them by recorded delivery - didn't change it back again.
It's hard to tell why they are like this. I'd even go so far as to question whether they might be either racist or antisemitic.”

When I visited the Chelmsford branch to open a savings account. The staff refused and asked me to do it online or call Halifax customer service. They were rude, I don't want to open account online and I have trying to call Halifax more than 5 times and lines are busy. Is been a week and haven't managed to sort it.
