If I give give you less than 1 star I would. you have had me waiting over 6hrs tonite. I have made numerous calls and due to to not a very smart person putting the job in wrong was told because I had a collision they would not recover my car?? What collision?? My car hit a pot hole and the tyre went down. I had one of the recovery team have alook and tell me to rebook the job as they had put it wrong I then called explained the situation and was told they would get someone else out to me guess what they left me waiting and waiting to then get a phone call to say I wasn't covered at this point I'm pulling my hair out. Tomorrow I will be cancelling this through my car insurance asking for a full refund and will also be seeing you RAC for the money I have lost, my Uber ride home and for the stress you have caused me tonite. (I only live 3.5miles from where the car stopped) worst customer experience I have ever had in my 36 years.

***WARNING*** If you own a Motorbike or Moped avoid the RAC Breakdown service, In my short of my current experience using this company. My moped had broken down less than a mile from my home, I called the RAC Breakdown service, 3 hours later an RAC Mechanic turned up, he had a look around the bike and established the drive belt had snapped and said he would arrange for the moped (Which is quite heavy) to be transported home. He dropped me off at home at 8 PM I got a text to say my moped would be collected within 90 minutes, no calls at 10.00 PM, I called the RAC Breakdown service and was advised and I quote, "can you go back to the bike and switch off the alarm, and we will arrange for the collection of the bike during the evening "(No chance as I would then be uninsured), He said he would call me back within an hour, I went to bed at midnight as no call received. Got up the next day to go to work at 06.30am, I checked my mobile phone and 1 missed call at 00.42am and another at 05.43am, I got home from work at 15.00pm another missed call at 14.46. I again called up the RAC at 1500 and was fobbed off to be told another team were going to call me, I got called an hour later to be told they cannot get to my bike for FOUR DAYS and he said, again they cannot guarantee that they can get to it in that time. Remember my bike is less than a mile from my home, he gave a lame excuse that there was no bike transfer companies within 35 miles radius of where the bike is, but he said he would call me back in an hour, as I said to him, would the RAC pay, if I organised the bike to be collected by a company not on their list after I rattled off several locally on the internet that are not on their list, he said he would ask his manager if that was ok and call me back in an hour. Again, no call back and now when I call the RAC Breakdown service, the operators say they will transfer me to another department and put me on hold for hours at a time and then nobody answers. so, I am in limbo now, my bike may be stolen by the time anyone reaches it from the RAC Breakdown service. The service at the RAC is non existent, I have now arranged for my bike to be transported the less than1 mile to my home by a local professional bike pickup company less than 5 miles from my home, at my own expense, as I cannot take the risk of my bike being left at the side of a busy road for 4 or more days. the past 24 hours have been really stressful by the lack of service. I would advise you take the breakdown service of Motorbikes and Mopeds off your list of vehicles you say RAC Breakdown service can help, as this is misleading , your company is not fit to service any bike rider in distress or their vehicle to be recovered in any given time. One very dissatisfied RAC customer.

I was falsely given assurances on sign up that cover would include recovery to home even if it was further than 10miles by paying a surcharge. The patrolman told me that wasn’t the case and moved my vehicle to a safe location 5miles in the wrong direction from my home. I submitted a complaint 5weeks ago and despite my repeated calls they have not yet reviewed my case (listened to the call I made). When I call I’m told I’m a priority and the manager is aware. They have never contacted me it has always been me that has called. I feel like they are not going to do anything at all but fob me off. I feel like I have been duped by them. They took my money under false pretences and have no intentions of returning it. There should be a way of leaving no stars because they don’t deserve any. Shame on you RAC.

Left stranded a service station for 7 hours. Given taxi to local holiday Inn... taxi 90 minutes late.. 3 hours sleep. Rac contract patrol had picked up vehicle and was en route. Contacted RAC only to wait a further 4 hours. Told they would provide a rental car. 15 hours later still stranded in Premier Inn with 3 hours sleep in 2 days.. safe to drive? No but told more waiting. No car available for another 5 hours... that will be 20hours stranded... RAC... Really Are Clowns..... AA I think

Can't even move a car from A to B Asked for my Car to be moved on Tuesday from my Home to a specialist Garage. By Friday it's Halfway! Been offloaded 3 times, now sat in a car park with no one at the RAC able to sort it out. They're so under resourced. Try to make a complaint and they're not taking calls. Emails take weeks to respond to.

We were on holiday in swansea visiting family when our car broke down on Friday 😟 luckily we had rac, we contacted them and they were very busy but took approx 4 hours to get to us, we wasn't stuck on a roadside we were in a family members home as car broke down outside there luckily so can only say what we experienced. So Jordan arrived, lovely guy he had just moved back to swansea from Tenby really tried to get the car going was extremely friendly and went out of his way to get it working sadly to no avail, had to go to garage as starter motor had gone. All in all our first encounter using rac was a good one, they kept you informed at all times how long they were going to be and they try there best to get you going. I would recommend them .

In the past 3 years The RAC have auto renewed my policy without sending a email stating the renewal price. They swear blind they have but they haven't. This is on 2 policies with 2 different email addresses. Phoned them to say I have had enough and cancelled. Charged me £25 cancellation fee. Receive every bit of advertising from them, but no renewal notice. Absolute scammers. Avoid.

One of the worse company for breakdown cover. I phoned them to secure me due to car breakdown and I was told why are you driving this time (11pm)? Wait time was over 4 hours. I phoned them this week to cancel my renewal which was day after renewal date and they charged me £25 for cancellation. One of the worst customer service ever you get from this company, moving to AA now.

The RAC failed to respond to a breakdown for 16 hours and 22 minutes. Their communication with me included multiple lies which resulted in me staying with my car from 7pm-1am and then getting a taxi home. I was then required to chase them at 5am for delivery of my vehicle home which also did not happen. This resulted in me having 2-3 hours sleep only, meant that I could not work the following day and then ruined my weekend away as I was still catching up with lost sleep. I tried to address this with the RAC but they refused to escalate my complaint to their management team or to compensate me for this appalling service and loss of earnings. I also received a parking ticket which they stated they would resolve and did not which meant I had to spend more of my time resolving.

Car broke down 9pm on Sunday evening on dual carriage by Bangor North Wales, clutch gone, RAC left me a 51 year old woman with disabilities on my own on side of dual carriageway throughout the night in the cold, dark, rain and I had no coat, drink or food. I rang 9pm took 30 mins to speak to a person who said to get out of car and go behind crash barrier and wait (there's was a 6ft chain fence on other side so was stuck between crash barrier and fence so nowhere to sit safely) told I'd get updates via phone, first said wait will be up to 240 mins which was enough of a joke, 2nd said another extra 30 mins delay, I rang several times couldn't always get through, when I did at at 11pm, 1am, 2am they said they were getting someone out to me, 1am was told priority team would ring me back straight away, I was crying and feeling very vulnerable and terrified and unwell & they knew that as I kept telling them but made no difference, they didn't call back straight away I rang back over hour later to be told the same, they rang 3 hours 15 mins later at 5.15am they told me it wouldn't be until 7.30am before they could get to me, I was beyond traumatised by then and asked why I couldn't go home and they pick my car up, to which they eventually agreed. I left at 6am so was there 9 hours and throughout the night on my own which was terrifying. Thought that was bad enough until recovery truck rang at 7.15 am and told me they knew they couldn't come out and job was offered to a partner agency before midnight who refused it, so they knew no one was coming out until the next morning at 7am shift, so they left me there all night knowing that, anything could have happened to me!! they could have sent me home in a taxi or asked me if someone could come get instead of robbing me off thinking they were coming!!! They also sent wrong truck out so didn't pick it up until 10am and took to a local garage near me, who turned out couldn't do the job and the RAC then refused to move it to another garage as where it was taken to wasn't one of their recommended garages, had I known that is have asked for a recommended garage! They refused to move it unless I paid the extra ridiculous cost even after the appalling service they provided!!! No, they're not getting any more money out of me. Beyond appalling service, disgusting, and when I tried to complain was fobbed off with several numbers I kept ringing to be eventually told there's no number to call to speak to a real person in customer services about my complaint or if someone could override charging me to move my car, it can only be done via email, unbelievable!!! If I could put zero stars I would, no actually is give you minus if possible!!! Worst customer service ever and I am going to put complain in and report to ombudsmen.

We unfortunately broke down on Sunday 14th August, we managed to pull over in a service station on the A40 northbound. After a five hour wait (apparently the rac man went to the wrong service station) another RAC driver Gary 3177 who had just completed another job came over to see if we ok. He called our insurers again and within 1 hour an engineer was on site, Gary remained with us and then took us on part 1 of our pick up journey as far as he could take us within his boundaries, he gave us a list of garages local to our holiday destination and set up the next pick up truck to take us to our destination. Gary 3177 certainly went above and beyond in his customer service. A huge thank you and well done goes out to him.

I am absolutely disappointed with RAC Warranty for the poor service they provided me with. I have been paying £260 for gold parts and labour warranty ever since i bought my Toyota Verso and i required a replacement for driveshaft which snapped. My warranty policy covered these components and therefore i had to get the diagnostics done from the local garage (which took 3 days). My warranty claim was declined due to corrosion which is a blatant lie and poor excuse. Therefore, an independent assessment was also carried out too which still declined. Despite my financial contribution, my warranty came of no use and i feel like RAC warranty are just greedy thieves just trying to grab money and offer false promises to hard working individuals who remain honest. I hope RAC warranty closes down very soon because i have recommended all my friends and families to stay away from these criminals. I have cancelled my direct debit and sincerely hope that RAC warranty will realise how much they have made people suffer.

On Wednesday the 3rd August we broke down on side of A1 near Berwick upon tweed at 4.45 . Call RAC after one hour a patrol man rang to and he said we were to big for him to recover (an evoque )so he would organise a recovery ,by 10 I still was wait so got put though to their Specialist team , my wife has MS and was having problems , at 11.30 a taxi turned up for her to take her to safety . I waited with vehicle and at 1.30 am a man with a trailer turned up saying he had only been given job an hour before , so I was left at road side for over 9 hours most of it with my disabled wife . Absolutely disgusting

Left for 30 hours without being recovered. Ended up getting a garage to come out to us so the repairs could be done. Only given 1 star because that’s the lowest and you can’t give a “0”. Avoid.
