“Dreadful customer service from XDP Ltd. Parcel supposed to be delivered today - nothing ! nada !
The online tracking system shows it has been sitting in their depot since early hours of this morning with no attempt to do anything with it. Guess the drivers were given the Friday before Bank Holiday off ;-(
Website says they have been trading since 1995, though reading all of the negative reviews online, I have no idea how they can possibly say they have "grown to be the largest privately owned parcel carrier in the UK, and have built a reputation for reliability and quality of service."
Why do companies continue to risk their brand reputation by partnering with XDP and being tarnished with such bad customer service.
Get your act together XDP.”
“How does XDP deliver?
I can answer this easily. They don't. This is the second time I have received emails as well as text messages giving a time of delivery and they simply don't show up. Wondering if this is Yodel , just under a different name!”
“Pretty terrible service. Parcel due to arrive Wednesday, I never received notification of it being out for delivery so I emailed to enquire and was told it would be delivered Thursday instead. Then on Thursday morning I received a text saying it was out for delivery between 12 - 2pm. I took time off work to go home and wait for the delivery and at 2:30 there was still no one. I emailed again (their phones are designed not to let you through) and received a response saying they were trying to reach the driver but couldn't. Throughout the next few hours I emailed a few times with no further response. I waited until 5pm when I finally got in touch with the company I ordered the product from, who said they had a direct number for XDP and would find out what was going on. They weren't allowed to pass the number to me but said they'd phone them and then phone me right back. About 5 minutes later I got a return call from them saying they'd spoken to XDP and the driver wasn't coming today after all. At this point I had been away from work for an entire afternoon for nothing with no communication. I am now having to figure out how to receive the parcel tomorrow as I can't afford to take more time off work. The individual who had emailed me from XDP seems nice enough but clearly it's a terrible system. If you are a business looking to use their services, I would highly recommend you look elsewhere as to not pis off your customers.”
“Unreliable courier with awful communications system. Said they came when they didn't. Usual story repeated all to often below. They must be cheap or nobody would use them. Perhaps companies should give you the option to choose cheap and unreliable or decent and a little more.”
“I would give 0 stars if I could. I waited in for a delivery. The two hour time slot came and went and then I receive an email to say that they have attempted delivery. Sorry, what?! I had been sat in my living room with a full view of anyone approaching my house so no they did not attempt delivery! I now have to attempt to contact them to rearrange. I will never buy from any company that uses XDP again. To be honest looking at the reviews I’m not sure why any company would use them anyway!!”
“Why offer a two hour window if you aren't going to deliver in that two hour window?? People have stuff to do and places to be. If there was no delivery window then fair enough but when you give this two hour window people plan around that.
THEN when you finally deliver the box looks like its been run over! YOU HAVE ONE JOB! DELIVER GOODS ON TIME AND IN A GOOD CONDITION!”
“Rubbish and poor service.. Two items tried to be delivered Thursday 16 th may.. I wasn't home as had tex that items wer coming between 11 and 1 when I had already left home.. Called and asked for new delivery for Friday, I was asked to tex driver to deliver to safe place.. Which I did so... Came home Friday card in door, no delivery... Called up again to ask why wasn't out in safe place... Answer driver probably was being lazy... Wow, what an answer... He had to walk past my safe place 30 foot to put card through my door... Re arranged delivery to safe place Monday waited in all day... Oh surprise surprise... No delivery... Called uo today Tuesday 21 st May... Apparently will deliver today, will I be home between 12 and 2...no I won't, please deliver to MY DAFE PLACE as already arranged... So waiting game again... We will see... Not happy woth this company, how the hell are they still running as a business!!! Worst ever.”
“Same story I’m afraid to state, seems they fail to take on board the negative comments.
Due for overnight delivery, laying extra and it doesn’t come, initially they are responsive to the emails and then change the story to report they had got it wrong and in fact didn’t have. My order at all. Very strange as I had been tracking it off their site which clearly showed thy did have it and I copy and pasted this and sine then they are failing to reply !!
Online chat is a. Joke, was 48 in a queue and at 5.30pm it stuck at being 18 in line.

“I ordered a battery for my caravan from a company in Greater Manchester. Good service price etc.
Collected by XDP within an hour or so (so the tracker said)
This was for overnight delivery ( I paid extra) .
My parcel £120 worth's was delivered monday evening. We were away with the caravan.
Luckily our son dropped by our house and found the battery by our back door. It would have been outside for 3 nights.
Worst of all, I left a note on the front door to say please leave with a choice of two neighbours. On the tracker it was sat in a depot at Stockbridge for the weekend.
You can not speak to anyone, and if you another option on the phone menu, they tell you to use live chat. They say the button is at the bottom of the screen on their website. No it isn't.
XPD are shambolic amateurs, who need to sort there distribution system out. Also actually speak to customers.”
“Missing parcels for 3 weeks and the only way to deal with company is via webchat. No phone based customer service. After hour on line waiting (as was in queue) representatives response was not out problem talk to company you brought from and disconnected chat, no chance to even ask another question. Appalling service and hope never have to use again. Used by Aldi for large item delivery.”
“I was notified this morning that my 3 items of furniture would be delivered today, emailed Xdp to say I would not be in and suggested 4 alternative days. Arrived home to find that my furniture had been left outside my house. I tried to complain to them only to be told that the complaint could not come from me, but only from the furniture company as they are the client.”
“Absolutely joke , I was told parcel would arrive Saturday 8.57 -11.75 did not arrive told Monday still at depot would arrive Tuesday between 1.32 & 3.32 .. still did not arrive contacted company I bought items off who advise I would get a call from delivery company & item would arrive today Wednesday , item not arrived after an hour on live chat advised still at depot but can’t give a reason why & to contact person I bought item off , who advised they have asked company to ring me and yes still waiting for call , with no items stressed out and still on roundabout 😡”
“Having read the reviews was nervous about my delivery. However delivery was made at the time stated. Was not in and driver called to ask where he should leave my parcel. Driver was friendly and helpful.”

“I was promised a delivery on Thursday 9th May. It is now the morning of Friday, no sign of my goods. As it was two packages, one got sent to the wrong delivery depot. Rather than telling me this, and letting me know they would not deliver Thursday, which they could have done. I was left to wait until after my 3:08pm - 5:08pm slot to then try and find out what happened to my delivery. Eventually the depot replied to my fourth email (the one that told them how bad I thought their service was!), to tell me what had happened. The depot staff surely knew this earlier, and one phone call to me, earlier in the day to inform me of the situation would have meant less stress for me, and now less stress this morning, as I try to find out where my goods are, and if they are going to bother to deliver it. I would have thought it would have been a bit of a priority this morning, but no, clearly not. Their number is engaged, probably dealing with everyone else they have let down. I have a least got through to the sellers, who are also trying to find out what is going on, but having the same luck I am having. At this rate, I am going to demand a refund, and go elsewhere for my stuff. Will check next time I order a big item, to ensure this delivery company is not the one dealing with my order.
If I had checked the tracking information sooner, I might have been able to find out quicker, as it did state it had split, but I trusted and email and text telling me the delivery time. Plus is it the customers job to ensure that the company they are trusting to deliver their goods are doing their job correctly. No, I don't think it is.”
