Why can't I give less than 1*... Where do I begin? Over priced and does not work. We were called everyday during the night, multiple times, to say our alarm was going off. We were in the house asleep with no signs of the alarm going off. Noone, until the day I cancelled the contract, tried to help. Despite multiple calls and emails. Once I was finally able to cancel our contract, ADT had the cheek to continue to charge our direct debit. Thankfully I anticipated this and watched out for it. ADTs customer service is nothing short of atrocious. They will have no customers soon with the market being flooded with other alarm systems. STAY CLEAR

Customers need to beware of hidden charges . I recently discovered ADT were using a premium rate phone line, costing me £40 per year to test my system on daily basis .They had been doing this since 2008 . When I raised the issue they did stop the practice . But have refused to refund the monies I have paid since 2008 .Pretty sharp, so be very careful when doing business with them .

Impossible company to get through to. As I type this I have been on hold for over 18 minutes. I wonder if they’ll ever answer!

Could not agree more with the thousands of people sharing their awful experiences with this company. I have been waiting over a month for a deposit to be returned after choosing not to proceed with ADT after seeing their awful contracts. A culture of always someone else's fault, lies and selling based on fear. A truly dreadful company and one the world would be better without. I cannot encourage anyone more to have a look around at local companies - they are cheaper, friendlier and have much better offerings.

I have had an account for 6 years. I have been increasingly concerned about the communication for a few years now. Lately, I have not had a call to tell me my telephone line was out of action for 5 days, essentially my line to the data centre is not working and therefore my alarm is useless!!! I phoned ADT this evening to see if a sales person could call me tomorrow to arrange a review of my security products. They told me to phone back in the morning. In short; they take my money, offer little comfort and customer service seriously lacks. They have become too big for their boots!!! I have another quote from another company which I shall pursue.

Very disappointed with the service from the engineer install to the actual system. Have had numerous false alarms with the system going off for no apparent reason. Its not what was described to me by the salesman, and the customer service was very disappointing also.

Disgusting customer service. Cowboy Company. SCAM!! I was pressured into signing quickly on an iPad and lied to by the engineer about the length of the contract being 12 months when actually it is 36 months with huge cancellation fees!! The document they get you to sign is 11 pages long with the smallest of small print!! Which is bearly readable on their iPad that they shove under your nose and get you to sign when the engineer comes to your home. I put my trust in what the engineer told me regarding the length of the contract, as I assumed ADT would be a trustworthy company!! I was wrong!! The engineer clearly stated 1 year, in hindsight I should have taken half an hour to read their 11-page document as the engineer lied!!! Now there is no way out the contract apart from the over £500 cancellation fee!!! I was told by Brian in the cancellation department at ADT that he didn't have a supervisor or a manager and point blank refused to put me through to anyone more senior than him after I informed him I wanted to make a complaint and that I will be taking this to the ombudsman as was misold to and misled by ADT from the word go. I called again and was told by another representative that 'What brian said goes', he then told me I could speak to Brians manager if I wanted, (which was funny because Brian told me he didn't have a manager or a supervisor, on numerous occasions!) This other agent then placed me on hold for over 20 minutes as clearly had no intention of putting me through to anyone. Disgusting behaviour from a large business. BEWARE!!

Appalling Service! Having happily taken my money on a monthly basis for the last 3 years I must say that the customer service is severely sub-standard. As a customer I do not expect to have to chase the company to administer my annual service and then to be told that I can only have a service before 12 p.m. even though they claim to be a 24/7 service provider. I have cancelled my contract and now they want to charge me over £100 to deactivate my alarm system! I requested that since the paid for annual service had not occurred I should reasonably expect that in lieu of this service they should deactivate the alarm free of charge. They refused to consider this sensible proposal. ADT Customer Services called me to try to resolve the issue. They failed miserably. Instead of acknowledging that they had made little effort to follow up with me when I did not receive the letter to schedule a service in spite of having both my e-mail and my mobile number they offered, as a gesture of goodwill, to arrange for a service! I had already payed for this "gesture" through the monthly payment to ADT which included an annual service. Someone needs to explain to them the definition of "goodwill" When I queried the customer service employee as to why, if an engineer could be sent out to "service" the equipment they could not simply disable and deactivate the alarm system instead since I am cancelling my contract. The response was that service was chargeable (£100+) and was different from a service. I asked whether their engineers were not capable of both servicing and deactivating? Yes, logically, they were, so my question is: Why if an engineer can schedule a visit to service the system that same engineer can not simply deactivate rather than service??? Ridiculous response and no help whatsoever. So much for "goodwill". Avoid, Avoid, Avoid! I should have read all the reviews before retaining this company and it would have been fairly obvious that this company is not customer oriented, is not fair and has more bad and poor reviews then anything else! Very disappointed and very annoyed.

Awful company dont touch with a barge pole. Total ripoff people. Go with a small indepent company. Will be cancelling my 4 contracts.

Awful customer services, awful staff, awful service. they are greedy aggressive and incompetent at best. I have been a client of theirs for 5 years and today I will cancel my contract.
