“I went away to isle of Wight 11th March 2024 we had the best time ,the hotel ,food, drink prices and driver Andy where amazing Andy spoke to us all the way through the tours and kept us informed through out the journey there and back faultless man .”

“Tour Ref 218EC, Eastbourne 03SEP23 In a heatwave, Alfa supplied a coach with broken air conditioning. Most passengers were pensioners, but Alfa did NOT supply free bottles of water, and the driver, Russell, did NOT open the roof hatches, thus denying us adequate ventilation. Russell was selling water for 80p (other Alfa drivers charge 50p). On the 5th day it was so hot that I was gulping air and crying on the coach. I told the driver on the 6th day that I thought I was going to die. He was rude and said “it’s not just you, everyone is hot” and we were “lucky to have the blowers (vents above the seats)” as he “didn’t even have that”. The single open window was next to his seat. The coach manual says the cabin temperature is displayed on the dashboard. It was obvious how much everyone was sweating. Travelling home, the outside temperature reached 33 C. We only had the small vents giving weak, warm airflow. We travelled for 2.25 hours without a break, then stopped for an hour when we were 30-40 minutes from the interchange. I was now gulping air, crying, and having stomach cramps, thinking “is this how dogs feel in hot cars?” The trauma stayed with me, and I had to have CBT/EMDR therapy. We complained to Alfa who apologised for the “discomfort” and claimed that "the driver did everything he could to try and provide additional cooling to the coach". Having asked repeatedly why the roof hatches were not opened, and what steps Russell did take to cool the coach, they repeat the same nonsense script (given to them by their lawyer, no doubt), ignored, or told they have “responded appropriately and thoroughly”. They have not. There is a dispute. We asked twice to enter arbitration. They refused. They even implied that I am the liar. They claim we are the only ones who have complained. (I read that the Post Office (scandal 2024) tried that one on, too). We asked about the feedback cards from the hotel which had a section about the coach, that question was ignored. Our holiday was ruined unnecessarily. We could have had a full day in Brighton, as advertised, if Russell had wanted (we had less than 3 hours off the coach). We could have been comfortable, if he had opened the roof hatches. He could have been concerned, not confrontational, when alerted that a passenger was finding the extreme heat distressing. We hope our fellow passengers stayed well, did not suffer dehydration from sweating, or any complications from the heat. All we wanted was a nice holiday, as advertised. Our only recourse is legal action. If you want to gamble with your time, money, and wellbeing, then do book an Alfa holiday. So much can go wrong, and if it does you will not see your money again unless you go to court. Alfa practices this tactic all the time judging by the reviews, so best book with a decent company that does care about its customers.”

“had two amazing hoildays with alfa one to weston super mare in june and again in cromer nolkfolk really lovely staff well stocked hotel clean bright excursions fabulous coach drivers andy and Brian could not been more helpful and friendly local pick up excellent food service rooms receptionists in both hotels incredible really go out the way to help. My fella who i regularly travel with have got a brain injury severe brain injury and damage that affects his speech memory and impediment balance etc alfa cant be more understanding and patient with him. Food really good plenty and with tea coffee hotels super clean and well maintained as well definitely would recommend and i have booked three more holidays with alfa blackpool jan 2024 cromer may 2024 and scotland oct 2024. I hope they are good ones to”

“Booking ref KXJ70 Tour Ref 5272/1 - Our 1st coach holiday Positives - Coach driver Ian was brilliant very informative friendly and loved telling jokes even though some we had heard before, We would give Ian top marks Negatives - Room allocated 104 which was located in the DUNGEON below ground level no natural light and damp. Furniture in Bar & Restaurant was worn and uncomfortable, seats in restaurant were very low, I had to ask for a cushion to sit on as to reach the table, food was of a low standard and ration sized portions, boiled potatoes every night ! does the chef not know a potato is a very versatile vegetable and can be chipped, baked, roasted, mashed and can be presented in many ways. Other regular Alfa guests commented to us that we had probably picked the worse hotel that Alfa sells for our 1st coach holiday.”

“We had an excellent Holiday Tour No 5336NE, Severn & Wye Rivers and Railways ,Hotel was lovely my only problem was the driver who was full of his own importance, told us not to call him driver and told us his name, Mark I think he thought he had a bus full of 5 year olds , the trips out were lovely apart from the 3rd day when he was supposed to take us to Broadway after being on the Warwickshire Railway, that didn’t happen was looking forward to going to Broadway, so was taken back to the Hotel, he also told us all on the Coach that nobody had to interrupt him when he was having Breakfast or evening meal , oh and that he was not a Bus Driver he was a coach driver, I was sick of hearing him lecture us about one thing or another”

“I have just returned from a 5 day trip to Llandudno from the north east and I must say I've enjoyed every minute of it.The coach driver Mark was absolutely fantastic,from the moment we started the holiday to the day we came back ,he was very polite,informative on numerous things of interest on the day trips,his jokes didn't do him any favours,but they were that bad they were funny.The Hydro Hotel was clean and the staff were very polite,the only down side was that the lift was out of order all the time we were there.Mark the coach driver made this holiday,Alpha well done keep the holidays coming.”

“We have just returned from a trip to Holy Island and Hadrians Wall, with Alfa Travel, the trip was very good, but, we used the Caledonian Hotel, Jesmond, Newcastle as our base, not impressed, short staffed, infrequent assistance, room issues, restaurant issues, cold food….. the hotel let the trip down, please Alfa, stop using this hotel, or you may start loosing customers … Trip date, 11 to 15 September”

“Just returned from a very pleasant trip to Tower of London and Windsor Castle. Our Second trip only with Alfa. Our First trip to the Isle of Man in Early June. Well, Trip one to the Isle of Man was excellent. Driver, Hotel, Food, Trips were brilliant. Well, Trip 2 to London. Tower of London and Windsor Castle was Exceptional. Driver Calum, ( An asset to the Company ) Hotel, Clean and food was very good. Staff were polite and professional. ( Harlow Hotel, Harlow ) Would recommend any of the above two coach tours. Have travelled with other Coach Companies over the years but these are as mentioned our first two with Alfa. Looking for our next trip.... Thankyou Bill & Marian Keevil 5th August 2023”

“We had a very good driver by the name of Dominic, who took us to our resort in Torquay. He was a very good and pleasant driver. It was a pity that he wasn't our driver for our tours. The hotel was very clean and tidy and the food was excellent.”

“We've just returned from Great Yarmouth. This was our first coach trip and was very nervous about it. From the start our driver Ian made me feel more relaxed. His driving was excellent. It was no trouble for him to put our mobility scooter in for the excursions. He was funny ,helpful and always checked everyone was ok in morning and evenings. Our room was lovely comfortable and clean. The staff at reception and dining room were lovely and very efficient. The food was good. We had a great week. Thankyou”

“Just come back from a 6 day break at Dunoon. Could not fault the holiday at all .The view from our bedroom was stunning we were in 124. The view alone was worth going for. The staff were all very polite and friendly, the ladies on reception were very helpful and so friendly , must mention Andy on the bar as he was very entertaining .free drink 🍹 each evening with your meal .Dave our driver was very informative on all the places we visited also very smart and friendly. We will definitely be returning hopefully staying in the same room.”

“Just returned from Isle of Wight, Shanklin Hotel, first Coach Holiday and had a nice time. Hotel was clean in good repair and with good facilities. Coach Driver was knowledgeable (Michael) and helpful and the Hotel Staff were friendly and professional. Food was distinctly mediocre although Breakfast was better. Particularly enjoyed the use of the pool and sauna which was lovely. Overall was impressed with the value for money”

“Just got back from Alfa coach holiday in Torquay at the Metropole hotel had a fantastic time hotel spotless the food was amazing and the staff were all brilliant especially Ken who was so entertaining and so was Dominic one of the coach driver's the entertainment was brilliant especially Simon Rees he was top class and my coach driver Steven was wonderful well done to everyone and thank you to Alfa for a memorable holiday”
