“This was my first experience of going to London, aswell as my first experience with Coach travel. Not a great start that on the first day, the coach arrived half an hour late. Took an absolute ridiculous amount of time to actually get to London. I never even realised I was leaving the country but I might aswell have been. We left at 9:30 and did not arrive till 5 which in my opinion is atrocious. I only had 5 days there but pretty much wasted one whole day some just getting there. Hotel I thought was strange as none of the staff barely understood me, they were all very rude and very unhelpful. I also asked for a smoking room which I was never granted. On the way back, thought with the amount of traffic and service stops we should be home for around 3ish which of course with this being Alfa Travel I'm speaking about, that wasn't the case. At the changeover at Warrington, I was very confused and whenever I seemed to ask for some help, I got pushed away like the other hundreds of their customers. Myself and my partner then had to sit on the coach for 1 HOUR! Waiting for them to figure it out what suitcases need to be placed on what coach. This was one of my first holidays away on my own with my partner and it has completely changed my view on coach holidays all together. Really kind of disappointed to be honest”

“Our holiday to North Wales was advertised with an excursion to Portmerion and referred to on booking from a brochure edition Nov 2016-Dec 2017. It was booked in January (YA815) for a September departure. The excursion had been cancelled but no-one from the company informed us until we reached the hotel in Criccieth (the driver had mentioned the cancellation on the coach in Telford during a break). This is a major change and Alfa are in breach of contract by not notifying it's passengers and defy their own t&c. The reason for the cancellation is an annual music event which is held at this time regularly so no excuse. A substitute to a NT house and garden does not cut the mustard - the passengers are seniors but no way senile and smell a rat. To date no refund has been offered. The meals were of a reasonable standard but you didn't always get what you ordered. The service was chaotic like something from faulty towers.”

“Got back from a great holiday in Western-Super-Mare. Terry the driver was a star...hotel was good...food good...trips were good. It went badly wrong on arriving back at Burtonwood. I have no idea what the feeder coach driver was called...and he obviously didn't care enough about us to speak. Now 'The good driver Terry' knows I'm not a miserable, complaining so and so...but I was one by the time I got home! After arriving at Burtonwood at 3:15, I arrived in Hyde at 6:30! The blinking man drove through housing estates...had no idea where he was...sat looking gormless for minutes on end after every drop off. He never uttered a single word. Added to that, the coach we were put on had ripped seats, and whatever suspension it had in years gone by had gone. So thank you Mr Don't Care. You wrecked all the hard work Terry had put in to make it a nice holiday. I have another holiday booked for December. If I arrive and find Mr Don't Care is my driver I'll give up and come home.”

“We went with Alfa travel to Bath on the 21/08/2017 to 25/08/2017 staying at the limpley stoke near bath, Alfa travel were great for the whole trip and the driver Tim was excellent and one of the best drivers we have been with. The hotel is a great place to stay in, we stayed from 21/08/2017 till 25/08/2017 and found the staff to be wonderful, the food was very nice and the room was glorious, the hotel is set in magnificent grounds and the hotel catered for our every need, I would recommend this hotel and go back again. The excursions were all excellent and the guided tour of Bath was very very good and the Lady guide for our tour of Bath was great and we would recommend. Thank you for a great trip well done Alfa.”

“Just got back from my first Alfa coach trip to the new beach hotel in Great Yarmouth, hotel was fantastic and in a very good location directly opposite palace pier, our driver Neil was lovely and couldn't do enough for you, thought the whole trip was very organised and will definitely be travelling with Alfa again”

“Had the worst holiday ever with Alfa Travel. Did County Claire and Galway tour on 02.07.17. The coach driver was rude, the accommodation was bad and Alfa Travel's response to complaint is inadequate and smacks of a 'couldn't care less' attitude. Trip was sold as a night on the way out and back in Dublin when in reality the hotels used were miles away from Dublin. The driver did not follow the itinerary but instead went to places where he obviously gets back-handers from proprietors. On 2 occasions passengers sat on the coach in a car park for 45 minutes because nobody wanted to visit the venue he had stopped at. He spent more time selling bottles of wine to passengers than bothering to follow the trip as it had been sold. He was so bad we decided to use public transport for the excursion to Galway which cost us 40 Euros each and Alfa have not even offered to refund the cost of these bus tickets. Having spent £898 on this tour I am appalled that Alfa Travel are not interested in our complaint - I would not recommend Alfa Travel and I will never travel with them again.”

“My husband and I booked a seven day holiday with Alfa travel, staying at Regina hotel Torquay. 30th July until 5th August. Boarded the coach 7pm taken to a service station to await feeder coaches, eventually set off for Torqauy at 9.30. Bob the drivers welcome on board were I quote " my name is Bob, some of those cases took two to lift. Weight limit is 15 kg, not 30. If they are like that on return, they will be left, as I am not doing it again" How disgraceful to greet holiday makers in such a way, it set the tone for very poor holiday. Bob proceeded with journey without another word. The excursions included were very poor, Two hours to get to Sidmouth with surly driver Bob, only to stay for one hour. Essex was lovely but only two hour stay, and an hour sat on coach in car park, as Bob had to wait for other Alfa coach to follow, onto Teigemouth shoking. Not how I planned to spend my holiday. Room 85'in hotel was ok, but no hot water, only cold to very Luke warm. Manager checked it out, looked at boiler never heard anymore. Cold water for whole week for washing, and shower. Shocking. On return Bob claimed one of our cases may not be onboard, as others helped him load the coach. We just replied we would make a claim against Alfa if that is true. Both cases were onboard, after another hour and half wait at service station on return journey. First time with Alfa, never again. Holiday from hell.”

“Very basic hotel which needed a lot of told. The restaurant service was terrible with a wait of 20/35 minutes at every meal, and the the food had run out. Only 5 staff at a 90 bed hotel and when you complain your told "sorry no one available, just leave a message" then had to spend 3 hours at Burton Wood services awaiting for our feeder coach on the way home. This was our first and last trip with Alfa”

“My friend and I have just had a break at the Hotel de Paris in Croit mer. I have to say that it was excellent. The restaurant, food, service was great. The single room I had was lovely and clean with all facilities. The reception staff were very helpful.The transfer from feeder coach to proper coach at Tamworth services was excellent as well.The only problem was coming home when we came upon a traffic jam just before Cambridge services. It took us over an hour to reach the services. Our driver Jeff however tried best to get round the problem but so did everyone else.He was a star. However when we finally got to Tamworth Alfa had organised taxi's for our onward journey. Well done Alfa Travel”

“Previously I enjoyed Alfa, but my last journey left me very disappointed. We were simply driven to a town, dropped for a couple of hours, then returned to the hotel. I had higher expectations.”

“Just come back from New Year in Shanklin.Hotel Excellent.Staff couldnt do enough for you.Had a bad start with bad weather for crossing..Driver Phillip was very informative at all times.and very helpful.Wonderful Holiday.Thank You alfa..Never been dissapointed on any Alfa Holiday..Great value for money”

“We recently had a weeks holiday to the Isle of Man, Driver Jef was very pleasant and very helpful to us all. Some good trips out and had so much information about every where we went. The staff at the Hydro Hotel where we stayed were all pleasant and helpful,some times evening meal needed to warmer but they dealt with it ok. Unfortunately the coach developed a problem and Jef had to nurse it back to Burton Wood he coped really well.Thanks Alfa for another good holiday, we have already had 3 this year with you and look forward to our trips to Ireland and Cromer and then our Christmas and New year breaks in Dunoon.”
