(Tyre fitter lied and thought this wouldn't catch up with him. Tyres on the drive will try anything to deny fault and rectify the issue. I will never use these cowboys ever again). About 4 different people have dealt with my complaint since Saturday to no avail. Here's my experience.
A tyre fitter came out on Saturday to change a tyre due to a puncture. In conversation it turns out he has only been in the job six weeks after a few days training. He said he got the job through his father knowing the director! He also commented that he had another 21 tyres to fit that day all over Lancashire and Yorkshire. I think he needs further training to learn how to take tyres off rims and not damage tpms sensors.
I went to reset the tpms sensor after he had left by driving the car. It failed to reset due to a failed tpms. The reset wouldn't go above 49% due to the broken sensor.
I contacted him on his mobile, he said give it a few days for the sensor to try and reset!! He claimed his manager told him to tell me this. As though it would reset and he knew that with lying. I've done it many times before and it only takes seconds or minutes to reset depending on the manufacturer.
After looking on the internet and reading up, people say it will be the tyre fitter who has damaged the tpms sensor which turns out to be true as you will read.
This morning after visiting a tpms supplier, they tested all the sensors and the front left passenger side sensor was showing failed. I bought a new one at £45. I went to a local tyre fitter charging me another £25 to remove the tyre, fit the new tpms and reinstall the tyre. Low and behold, my system reset itself and went above the previous 49% to 100% because all the tpms were communicating again.
When the tyre fitter this morning took off the tyre we encountered the tyre fitter on Saturday had damaged my tpms and had the cheek to cable tie it together inside the wheel to the valve knowing full well he had damaged it.
If the tyre fitter had told me at the time he had damaged it, I would have accepted that with an apology and he could have sourced and fitted a new tpms.
Tyres on the drive came out fitting the tyre I bought from Asda tyres, which I presume tyres on the drive are in contract with. (Turns out Halfords Tyres, Asda tyres, Tyres on the drive are the same company).
Not only did it cost £160 for the tyre, a further £45 for a new sensor and £25 for another tyre fitter to install it all and get us back on the road.
I've emailed photos, invoices for the tpms and now as other people have commented on other reviews, they no longer respond. No surprise there.
Never again to use these cowboys. Online tyre fitters and local tyre suppliers I've used before will continue to get my service instead. I am normally spending a thousand pound a year on tyres for a few vehicles. It will be no loss to them though my lack of custom.
Also their tyre prices and fitting are costly compared to others. Shop around and avoid these cowboys.
All this hassle due to my wife getting a puncture!! 😬”
“Day 1 Arrived at agreed fitting centre at agreed time after taking time off work to be told the tyres hadn’t arrived, no email or text from Asda, phoned customer service to be told sorry there’s a supply issue, offered a refund or another appointment, rearranged for the following day, again leaving work early arrived at fitting centre to be told they’re still not here! Back on the phone to Asda customer service told it’s a supply issue! No communication from Asda whatsoever, I could’ve still been sat there now waiting for my tyres, demanded my money back to be told it can take up to 5 working days to refund 🤬 I wouldn’t waste your hard earned trying save a few quid it ends up costing you double, I had to buy the tyres elsewhere and I’m still waiting for my refund........an absolute joke!!!!”
“Ordered 2 tyres, got them fitted at stoneacre Peugeot halifax, they didnt balance the wheels or put new valves in, i noticed the day after when I moved the wheel from the front to back, I took the car back and they said sorry and did the work again, 1 week later the tyre rapidly deflated, I thought I had a big puncture, I took the car to a puncture repair center and the tyre was not holed it was leaking between the rim and tyre as Peugeot had not cleaned all the old tyre sealer off the rim prior to refitting the tyre the 2nd time, there work was downright dangerous, plus its cost me another £10 for the tyre that went down and now the second tyre is losing pressure,, nightmare”
“Just had four new tyres on my jaguar. The whole ordering and fitting went without a hitch. Great value and the tyres came with very good ratings for noise, economy and road holding. Why go elsewhere?”

I received numerous email informing me of the booked time, however, once there, Halfords said they had no knowledge of the order and I was sent home tyreless.
I received a call from a lovely lady, who informed me that they did not have the tyres that I booked and paid for. She said I would be reimbursed. To date I haven't been.
I now receive emails asking me to review and rate the service I received....!
Please ASDA just find me 4 tyres like I ordered and inform me when you will fit them.”
“Awful experience!!!
Firstly, I received no confirmation email upon placing my order, yet money had been taken from my account. I selected a date for delivery but still had heard zero from Asda Tyres so I got in touch.
They hadn't even dispatched my order (the day before it was due) and said it would be sorted by the following week.
Annoying considering I chose a delivery date and needed the tyres urgently as a key worker. They hadn't even told me.
I, therefore, requested a refund, this was painful.
When I asked for a refund they said it would take between 5-7 working days or at worst, 14 days to clear in my bank... it took nearly 3 weeks and I had to chase them multiple times. Turns out they hadn't even processed the refund and had to do it manually (so they say).
I received my refund receipt only to find it wasn't the full amount i'd paid! So I had to chase them yet again to refund me the full amount.
All I wanted was tyres on a day I'd chosen with some communication. I received neither and then some! Just an awful and stressful experience that disrupted my key work.

“Bought 2 tyres but one developed a fault within 3 months. It was returned in March 2020 AND I AM STILL WAITING RESOLUTION. I have called Asda around 10 times only to be told they would look into it and CALL ME BACK. I am yet to receive a call back!!
Might be cheap prices but after sales is useless. I am now seeking legal advice. I refuse to believe it takes 12 weeks to examine a tyre fault corona virus or not !!!

“Very bad experience with Asda tyre.
I booked the 4 tyre change from Asda tyres and choose halford as a fitter and book the slot for 05:00 pm and thought to finish job a bit early and go and get the tyre fixed . It all sounds good so far but the journey just started.went to halford and they said they don’t take any order from 05:00pm as they close at 05:00pm so I have to go back.
I called Asda again and explained the situation they apologise and gave me the Saturday 12:00 slot and I was happy again and ignored the issue.
Went to halford again on Saturday 12.00 (16/05) and they said they did not received any notification from Asda tyres :( and I have to wait till min 04:00 hrs and I lost the will to live and came back to home.
And annoying enough they don’t have customer service open on Saturday and sundays”

Got to Halfords auto enter and got told that they did not open for another half hour 😡 really frustrating as Halfords also had a hands off approach " nothing to do with us mate" I got told.

I booked time off work and I booked for 2 Pirelli tyres to be put on my car between the hours of 8 and 12 At my house on the 05/05/2020.
I got all the confirmation as usual.
By 11:00 nobody had been so I called to check everything was ok, and the lady said she would let the fitter know and be with us by 12...THIS WAS A LIE.
It got to 1:00 and I called again, only to be told “would you mind if it was tomorrow now” so I said yes I would mind, My girlfriend who’s car it is, works for the NHS and she could have been helping people in the Pandemic Covid -19 crisis!!!
I the agreed to them fitting them the next day only to called up by HALFORDS and told “ HI SIR WE CANNOT FIT THEM TODAY”!!!!
So Me and my girlfriend have now waited in 2 days for 2 tyres and nothing has been done.
The reason I wanted the mobile service is because we are in lockdown and have children present.
Not one person has rung me or sent an email but I got confirmation that they HAVE TAKEN MY MONEY!!!!
I’m so angry, it takes no effort to keep me updated so I know what’s going on.

“Booked in twice, twice got told by the fitters Asda didnt send the details properly, had to chase this up myself was told it would be the next day twice! Got told to to drive my car instead even though it has flats to an alterantive, got told I could cancel my order for over 300 but it would take 7 days for a refund??? Dont set expectations you cant fulfil. Now I've been told they dont know when they can confirm the mobile fitting. Stay away and order directly and not through Asda. Poor service although their advisors are nice people.”

“I bought 2 tyres in November 2019. I have just discovered one tyre has a huge ‘blister’ in the sidewall. I cannot get a new tyre from Asda. I have to buy another one so that the damaged tyre can be examined. This is so bad and Unacceptable that I have to pay again for damaged goods. Any other commodity would be exchanged or refunded. NOT IMPRESSED ASDA!!! I won’t use you again.”
