The initial price was great, but when I tried to change the car on the policy half-way through the year, they wanted to charge me an enormous sum (50% more than I'd paid initially for the year as a whole!) to do so, even though the new car was in a lower insurance band. So, I wanted to cancel the rest of the policy, but the administration fees to do so meant that instead of receiving back what should have been about £100 pro rata, I would have had to pay them about £20 instead!!! The manner in which the operators twisted everything around towards this conclusion was really tricky and obviously came from what seemed a dishonest company policy in general. One operator was really not a nice guy. Yes, their terms were in the small print, but they were very ambiguously written, of course. And just because they were there doesn't mean they don't have to be fair. Btw, Autonet don't underwrite insurance themselves - they are just an agency for other underwriters. In my view, they're here to make as many quick bucks as they can. I will certainly never use them again.

We place a great deal of importance on customer feedback and take your comments seriously. I can confirm that I have looked into your file and your policy is still live at the moment. As you mention, Autonet are an insurance broker and aim to provide competitive premiums to the market place. The premiums are set by the underwriters, rather than Autonet directly. When a policy is purchased, it is an annual policy, which includes the cost of setting up and administering the policy. If this is cancelled before the end of the 12 month term, cancellation charges are made as per our terms of business. These charges are made in order to cover the costs incurred to Autonet. I believe that we offered you a new quotation for a new vehicle, with increased mileage and comprehensive cover. These factors all contribute to the premium that we were able to offer, which unfortunately was not competitive for you at this time. If this policy is cancelled, I can confirm there will be no payment due. If you would like to cancel this, please can you get in touch to let us know. Kind regards Nicola

Initially bought my insurance from a major insurer on new van we purchased , thought our 9 years NCD with another vehicle could have been looked at favourably. I was very wrong any new van must start from scratch with no NCD. My insurer then informed me that they wanted 200% extra to insure the van effectively tripling my premium! Faced with this needless to say I cancelled the policy accepted the charges and contacted Autonet who gave me a good quote and took into account my NCD with another vehicle. The irony is I am working on the original insurers HQ refurbishment in central London where no expense is being spared!!!

Unfortunately I had to phone the 0300 telephone number as the web site had crashed . I was initially answered fairly quickly & advised that I would be charged an extra £12 for speaking to an operative. I advised the operative that the only reason I was calling was because the web connection had crashed! Fee immediately dropped! I would had gone elsewhere if this had not been the case!!. We then proceeded to read every line of my application, 10 mins! I was then passed over to another operative after being on hold for just over 2 mins I was then re read all the information from my application again, this time with lots of pauses & hold sessions, The whole process took just shy of 30 mins to complete my application. Just waiting for my itemised phone bill to arrive to see how much extra I have paid for my "insurance quote!" All said, the operatives were polite & courteous at all times Had my transaction been completed within 15 mins I would had rated as good possibly very good!

They claim to have a 24 hour hotline for accidents, called Sunday morning and spent 9 hours trying to get through to an agent calling every 10 minutes to their number which went straight to unobtainable, Called again Monday and every-time you press 1 for claim's the number cuts you off its now Monday morning and i still cant get through !!!! customer services wont transfer you as they dont do claims and also informed me autonet is being taken over by another company. Absolutely useless if your involved in an accident, even the police couldn't get hold of them !!!!!!

It's disgusting how autonet make it so difficult to get through to notify of an accident .. It's bad enough having one than to be on hold for 30mins what a bad experience made worse

The price wasn't great but ok but it's such a hassle to switch insurance when your busy Even after I stressed my email changed they still sent documents to old one luckily I still have access ??
