Booked a cruise and asked for a quote for a single cabin. The quote was competitive to Thomas Cook and Thomson's so I just booked it. Weeks later I found out I had a twin cabin and was charged for under occupancy of this twin cabin. I phoned them to enquire about this and was told that at the time of booking no single cabins were available. I was never told this! I explained that a twin cabin was unsuitable as I was involved in a nasty incident in a twin cabin on my last cruise which led me to being off work for 6 months and receiving counselling. They refused to make amends. I couldn't afford to lose almost £400 deposit especially as this wasn't my fault. They refused to budge and did absolutely nothing to help me. I'm dreading this darn cruise and can't stop crying. I will never ever use them again and will do everything in my power to dissuade other people from using them. It was obvious that once they got my money and their commission I was to get to hell! Shameful customer service!

After saving money by for several months my family and I thought we would book a holiday of our dreams at Ayr's Barrhead Travel. When I arrived in the store the staff ignored that i was there being left standing waiting on assistance for 15 minutes. When they finally found time to help me the travel agent staff were rude, dismissive and lacking in customer service. I then decided after 10 minutes in there shop that i was not happy to be booking through this operator and walked out the store telling the staff exactly why they were not getting my custom. When booking a holiday customers should be given excellent customer service as word of mouth can destroy companies.

We booked through the barhead travel shop Paid for every thing getting the tickets was a night mare They arrived with post mark when we were st the airport We had already neen to thd shop and had reluctantly printed some iff then at the airport we got charged £40 for seats shocked was an understatement It wasnt right barhead should have sorted this all out therd was never a mention of another £40 What if we hadnt had that money It was a terrible experince i wont book with thdm ever again

Called to make holiday enquiry and didn't realise their phone line is premium rate. 13 minutes cost me £7:50. Look for the alternative number.

I booked a very expensive family holiday to Florida through Barrhead travel and the experience has gone from bad to worse. I had to make 6 phone calls to chase a confirmation of my booking 'apparently their email was down for a week!' They never return my phone calls. I was promised a breakfast package option when I arrive at the hotel after to speaking to the hotel they don't offer a breakfast package and to top all the pain so far the hotel (is the US) have informed me that my booked has been cancelled by the travel agent Barrhead! I've made 3 calls today and the agent told me it had been sorted, I have no confidence in Barrhead so I've just called the hotel to check and my reservation is still cancelled on their books. I've been trying to call Barrhead since 8.30 and no one answers the phone it just rings dead. I would not recommend them.

Food poisoning on half board holiday with Barrhead travel. Not covered for it. Campylobacter list stone. Horrendous. Barrhead not interested

We booked our holiday and were not given the confirmation slip at the time of booking. With around ten weeks to go we went in to pay it and I was then asked for all of the money upfront and then hassled about my lack of knowledge about when to pay because we had not received the confirmation slip at the time of booking. I asked to see the manager but was told they were unavailable. We emailed our complaint but had no response. This company just wants your money and doesn't care how you are treated. The only time I felt I was treated well was if I brought my husband with me!
