A week after half my order was delivered I'm still awaiting delivery of the balance. Have had to chase both Beer Hawk and UK Mail (possibly the UK's worst delivery company) several times, been told several half-truths and lots of promises made but still awaiting my goods. They seem to be far more efficient at taking orders and money than delivering goods.

i payed for express delivery and the beer arived even later than i would of received it with normal delivery disappointed

My order was not delivered as agreed. I got a phone call from the delivery driver to say he could not find the address and checking the postcode, which I verified. It then got taken back to the depot, despite the fact it was only 1pm - the office told me they did not have any drivers working in the afternoon???? I was assured it would go out the next day, but it didn't, it sat in the depot, no one could find it. The next day I spoke to a very nice young lady who did all she could to sort it out, but she admitted that she couldn't get a response from the depot, so she put in a replacement order for the following day. My ' surprise' delivery of beer for a friends 60th birthday ended up being delivered 3 days late. To be fair and balanced, he did say the selection was fabulous, but the poor delivery and communication prior to this really let the company down. The last girl I spoke to was great and did do all she could - pity there are not more like her. Do not recommend if on time delivery is important to you.

Beers that were said to be available when i placed my order were not available when it was despatched, implying not very good stock control. The beers were replaced with a different style of beer, which i was unhappy about. They said they had enclosed a credit voucher, so i could reorder the beers when they were next in stock, but they had failed to enclose the voucher. On complaining the voucher issue was rectified and doubled, so i have no complaints about their customer service. Hopefully with my next order their will be no problems.

I paid extra for express delivery - it wasn't delivered until 5 days later, they weren't in but the delivery driver left it on the front doorstep in full view of anyone passing. Luckily no-one stole it.

I'm afraid I can't relate to the positive reviews here. It's nearly two weeks since I got a delivery notification and money left my account. I still don't have my beers, which I need before May. I was assured UK Mail had been informed to deliver asap but upon calling them discovered my parcel has apparently been returned to sender. Their text messages are non existent for me, I've had no notifications of delivery attempts. And now nobody from UK Mail or Beer Hawk is getting back to me. I'm afraid if UK Mail can't cope with simple instructions I won't order from Beer Hawk again so long as they are your courier.

Took 5 working days to pick my order and in that time 2 of my 6 beers were out of stock.

Ordered about 5 times, and every time, some of the beers are wrong. The whole point of a place where you can choose individual beers is that you can make your own selection. If they are out of stock, you should reflect that on your website, instead of giving me a lucky dip.

The quality of the beer is good but I had to wait several weeks before I had to change my order as they didn't have the advertised beer in stock

Hello Larr Thank you for the feedback, We do try to hold sufficient stock of each beer, but sometimes it’s not always possible to do so as the breweries we work with can have very small production runs. sorry about the delay

2 of the beers sent had only 3 days left before the 'best before dates expired'. I was very disappointed.

Hi Gerry, Sorry about that, most brewery's either put a brewed on date or if it is a best before date its still OK to drink for up to two years depending on the beer. The ones you received should be fine for consumption, if you are unhappy i can refund you for the beers, please email me on info@beerhawk.co.uk

Excellent selection of beer, perhaps a bit pricey but the quality is excellent. Shipping, however, was an utter shambles. Delivery took over two weeks, during which I waited-in twice for a delivery that never materialised. There was one genuine delivery attempt, but I was given just a couple of hours warning and frankly that's not long enough to arrange for somebody to be in. After eventually being told by UKMail that they'd lost the parcel, it turned up randomly 17 days after the original order. This was basically the courier's fault, but support from BeerHawk themselves was minimal. I won't be going back.

Received a box of beer as a gift, the packing sheet stated that I should've received 2 trappistes rochefort chalice glasses, but these were not included in the box. In addition, 1 of the ales was past it's best. After contacting them (07/02) about this I received a prompt-ish response (09/02) suggesting the glasses would be sent soon and a refund would given for the beer. As of 26/02 this still has not happened despite the customer service rep Louise sending an email on 11/02 stating the glasses had been sent. So far, so terrible.

Hello Thank you for the feedback, the initial order did have a miss pack and the glasses were accidentally missed off the order, replacements have been sent and on receiving an email James, glasses are back out for delivery again. many thanks Louise

After paying a high sum for express delivery and not receiving my order I was very disappointed. This was a gift for my partner and he ended up taking delivery of it therefore ruining the surprise....shame

Made an order last weekend, received messages on Tues, Weds, Thurs and Fri each saying the delivery would be made that day but has still not turned up - no missed delivery note from Citylink either. Delivery from a wine company made at the same time arrived fine without issue in same timeframe. My previous order was also delivered to the wrong address - will make me question whether to use this service again. Big shame as end product is very good!

Christmas Disappointment. I purchased a £20.00 'gift voucher' for my brother. I live in Canada, he lives in the UK. I emailed the' gift voucher' to myself, thinking I would be emailed a bar-coded voucher, as pictured on the website, that I could print and post to him as a Christmas gift. What I received was an email with a claim code. I contacted customer service to see if such a voucher existed that I could print. The reply came back in a short one line email. "No you can just forward him the email and he can input the code on line when placing his order" Would it be so hard to make a printable voucher that friends and family can print to use as a gift?

Hello Sorry about your disappointment, i must have miss understood the request. I thought you meant can you forward this to your brother to use or do you need a different type of gift voucher, hence me saying " you can just email that one over" would you like a different gift voucher produced and emailed across to you ? Great beer selection however constant problems with delivery and lack of communication from BeerHawk. Cancelled after 4 deliveries simply because of terrible customer service. Promised things such as free delivery but never got them

So far I have only drunk one of the beers in the package (Moor Revival), and I must say that it is absolutely delicious, and I look forward to making my way through the rest of the delivery over the next few weeks. However, getting delivery of the beers was a nightmare. On the evening of Fri 29 Aug, I received a text from City Link saying they would be delivered between 07.30 and 17.30 on Mon 1 Sept. It was too late for me to arrange time off work to be at home all day, so I resigned myself to a failed delivery and having to collect from the depot. At the time, I thought they had a depot in York, so that wouldn't be too difficult. On returning home on the evening of the 1st, there was no evidence that thay had called, so it was just as well that I hadn't stayed in all day waiting. On the morning of Tue 2nd, I got a text saying they would deliver between 11.21 and 13.21 that day. Again, too late to arrange to be at home, so I again expected a card through the letterbox, and this time there was one, saying they would attempt another delivery tomorrow, and if that failed, I would have to collect from the depot, not in York, but in Leeming Bar, 36 miles away! On the morning of the 3rd, I got a text saying they would deliver between 13.32 and 15.32. This time, I was able to get the afternoon off, so waited at home for the delivery. A City Link van drove past my house at 14.20 without stopping, and I waited in for the rest of the afternoon, but no delivery was made. I would not have considered driving specially to the depot to collect, as the cost of petrol (amd time) would just not be worth it, but luckily I was passing Leeming Bar on the A1 on 10 Sept, and I was able to finally collect my beers. When I got home and opened the box, I found that one bottle was broken. So, although I look forward to drinking the beers, I don't think I'll be ordering online again.

You were let down by your delivery service. They left the box with the beers on the doorstep of the house, no attempt was made to alert the occupants/recipients, no card through the door and the goods were left in plain sight on the doorstep, this was a row of terraced houses where they were easily seen by passers by. Very, very fortunate that they weren't taken.
