Looks like I had a near miss. Took the wife to one today to look at different makes as they look different in real life. I was told you can’t look around and that you sit down with a sales executive (executive??😅) and they bring the car to you. I could see right through the sales strategy and could envision hours of my life wasted with a pushy salesman. I told the receptionist, this sales concept is not for me and spun on my heels out of there. I’m glad I did after reading these posts.

The after sales of dealing with Big motoring works is not great, they do not respond when you contact them or ask for a call back. When you do finally get through they are very rude. Had a girl called Tiegan who was not patient and just kept passing me on to different lines till it cut out. The initial service is great but the after sale is the worst I have ever experienced. Would not recommend

Ok £19500 bmw 1 series 31000miles on clock. Sales and site at Peterborough were good felt at ease and pleased with the car drove up from Somerset and was impressed. On the journey home on a Saturday evening the engine light comes on and the instrument cluster needles fail this making reading the speed impossible. No answer on the big assist app or on the telephone number Phones on the Monday and get told to take it to a local garage for diagnostic Couldn’t get it in a garage until the Thursday after so it’s first 2 weeks it was parked up. A sensor needs replacing and the dash cluster Quotes obtained and submitted. Out of the blue 2 weeks later an email instructed me to take car to a garage at 8am on the Monday. Fine I do so thinking all is well. On the Wednesday at 5pm the garage phones saying what is happening……. Thursday week 5 now, I take the day off work having not had a car again for the week collect the instrument cluster drive an hour to a company that can mend it sit and wait and drive it back to the garage. The garage refits it and calls me to collect I did this all of my own back or I would still have no car. My solution was cheaper and quicker and got me back on the road. They paid for the repair and labour only. There was no communication between big assist and the garage or myself emails ignored calls not returned I’m still waiting for the sensor to be fixed. After sales is abysmal to non existent which totally lets you down a great shame. Nobody seems to understand that a car to some is a lifeline and you can’t be without it. I understand things may not be perfect with a used car but come on look after your customers

Cars mid-advertised as “ready for you to drive away with immediate collection in-store” and with features it simply didn’t have, in this case one of my essential criteria. I saw a car I liked at a good price and arranged for a test drive, I took a second person fully expecting to pay £24k cash and drive away in my new car. I drove over an hour for this car specifically. First my exisitng car was appraised for a part ex, which I wasn’t bothered about as I figured I’d get more privately, but allowed them to inspect all the same. It’s clear they take your keys from you to delay your leaving after you’ve told them you don’t want to proceed/need to think. Said several times we weren’t committing today and indicated we’d like to leave - sales assistant kept going away for ten mins at a time, not upfront that he was discussing with his manager and would return each time without my car keys and slightly adjusted figures. I was there over two hours A 21 plate car hadn’t been serviced since 21 (go figure), the sales person didn’t know about its 3 owner history, it was missing a trim on the rear wheel arch and so wasn’t ready to drive away at all and they wouldn’t deliver. The warranty isn’t that at all - it’s a contribution under very limited circumstances. The warranty they try and upsell isn’t much better either. There was absolutely no peace of mind with this car which is what I thought was an advantage of purchasing from a dealership. I will add the sales person was nice enough, he was doing a job and no doubt what he had been trained to do. I am glad I came home and read these reviews as it’s confirmed my suspicions.

Brought a car at the weekend , Advert advised the car had front sensors, website advised front sensors. Salesman advised front sensors . Paid and drove away with the car and found out the car doesn’t ! big motoring world ( Peterborough) have said it’s not their problem and aren’t willing to do anything. Please double check everything before you buy from them and do not trust their word or websites .

Firstly I need to point out that everyone I talked to was lovely. Doing their job as best they can. I arrived for my appointment for 6pm, took 1 hour to have someone tell me they were busy (why book people in if they have to wait). Took 2.5 hours to be seen. The lady was great though, a real credit to the company. Took the car out for a test drive and it was ace. We took a walk through the showroom. Went through a couple of sales pitches then we got down to talk about the car. By this point it was 9pm, I was starving and really not in the right mind to buy a car. But I was there so we plodded on. I agreed to a 2 year warranty which I regret. I was made to feel like I needed to have this but in reality I shouldn't. Its a second hand car and you expect things to go wrong. By 9.30pm we were all done. I'd paid my £500 deposit. But the car had to be sent back to Peterborough to have a ding sorted. Now since I paid the deposit I've heard nothing. I've been in touch with the call centre and given 2 numbers for their site where they fix the cars. Nobody there is picking up the phone which is infuriating. I'm at a point where I'm thinking about cancelling this order as this company seems to be great at starting the conversation but really poor when it comes to the rest of the interactions. Lastly if you're buying a car from here remember one thing. There's a reason the car prices are so low and this is because they will pressure sales you into taking on an overpriced warranty and the packages for keeping your car clean. To put all of this into context my partner is seriously ill and this car is going to help her see her family and friends more easily. The money we are spending on it isn't a huge amount but it is to us and right now I'm feeling like I've made a wrong decision in using Big Motoring World.
