I had a terrible experience with Witmart and Smith. They were extremely dishonest, constantly asking for deposits, and even restricting my account, which had over R275,000. I tried reaching out to their customer service, but they were unhelpful and refused to resolve the issue. Thankfully, I got in touch with Mrs. Faina, who took my case seriously. She helped restore my account, and I was able to withdraw everything. I’m now completely done with Witmart and Smith and would advise others to stay away from them. I have a mixed review. I have bought several Buyagift vouchers and not had a problem booking a 2 night hotel break until recently. I tried to book Mansion House in Scarborough and I was told I couldn’t book when it’s half term so I tried to book the week after, I was told quite abruptly we will be given a standard double room and would have to pay for breakfast because it wasn’t included (which I was aware of) when I said we didn’t want breakfast I was told we have to have breakfast because they don’t make any money on the voucher bookings. I don’t know why they do the vouchers then. I will look for an alternative hotel with better customer service.

Pleased with my purchase but despite me Writing a personal message for a friends 21st birthday, it was omitted from the gift even though the cover sheet said welcome to your personalised gift! I could Do anything about it as I had to give the present to my friend

Good options x only downside was being unable to set a day to send the gift to the person to coincide with their birthday, we are away on hols, so could not wait.

I bought a spa day voucher for my brother's partner as she was grieving his recent passing. It was delivered really quickly but she didn't receive the personalised card as their was no option to write one on checkout.

This has been bought as a leaving gift, so unable to comment on the experience yet. Order was easy and enabled a view on where the experiences are available. Looking forward to seeing herface when he opens it. The 10% off welcome did not work

Buying the voucher was straightforward, but utilising it was trickier….possibly due to the provider’s website design (Yorkshire Heart Vineyard). We got there in the end though, and have made a booking now.

The voucher code did not work, I contacted buyagift and was told to ring the company it was bought for. The opening hours were not convenient for me so I asked for a refund and was given one immediately. In the past I have bought a voucher for a lunch and when trying to book was told they no longer accept it. Swings and roundabouts - provided you can get the code to work and book with a company that's still accepting it, all good!

I would like to say how disappointed I am. I ordered a Locksley Distilling Make your own Gin experience for one priced at £97.99 on the 5th June for my niece's 50th birthday. I did standard delivery at £2.99 and was given delivery of 3-5 working days, I am now in day 5 and so far I have not received the voucher. As I am seeing her tomorrow it is a real shame that I am unable to give her the gift. I await your comments.

To buy is very quick but then when you try to book is keep saying error, i am keep trying from 5 days now and the hotel just hang up when i mentioned what was the issue. System Is very bad, must be done something

I bought a two night stay at the hotel Alexander in Eastbourne which turned out to be closed temporarily. Also when I tried to get in touch I was told by the operator that it was the wrong telephone number.

Unable to make a detailed comment at the moment as bought this as a wedding gift and the couple have not booked their hotel yet. However, what I can say is that the gift was very nicely presented. I hope that the married couple will be able to book the hotel they want.

Seems a bit of swizz - bought afternoon tea voucher as a birthday present for £65 but the menu says it's £30 a head so paid extra £5 for buying through the site, won't bother again

Reasonably easy system except I could not find a way to send gift DIRECTLY to recipient; had to have it sent to me and then forwarded. If direct system is available - and surely makes sense on 'buy a gift' - then should be obvious.

I bought a voucher for a location which I considered would be nice, but when I tried to redeem the voucher the specific location did not come up at all. Various other places in the same area came up, but not the one I wanted. I tried all the others just to see what was available, but all kept coming up as not available for dates chosen, even though I tried lots of different dates over the course of the year. I was very disappointed and rang Customer Services. I was told that Buy a Gift had changed the booking system and customers had to book via Buy a Gift now and were not able to contact venues directly. It would have taken a very long time to go through all the options and dates to check availability, to try to find something which was appropriate. In the end, I asked for a refund for the voucher. This was done immediately and the money when straight back to my account, so at least that went well.

Bought a car experience for my grandson but the earliest date I can get local is September, his birthday is april, they should explain this on buying this gift

Prompt delivery however there was no name on the envelope, just my address. Hence the envelope was opened by the wrong person almost spoiling the surprise.
