Used Buyee service to purchase a $1,800 USD Hi Fi amplifier (Denon PMA 2500) off the Yahoo Japan website. It was for a brand new item (Auction Ref ID: r379264025). Once the product arrived at Buyee’s warehouse, I requested for a paid photo verification and this process alone took 3 days and they send me about 4 photos of the product and the contents inside the retail box. 3 days is frankly a little slow. The product was delivered safely and the outer box checked out to be in a great condition. It was a double box with very well paddings, thanks to the Yahoo auction seller. However, upon turning on the product, I noticed a major issue. The source selection dial (to change to CD / phono / Aux / etc…) does NOT work. Luckily I could change the source via the included remote controller. I sent an email to Buyee and they asked for some photos proof describing the issue. After 24 hrs, they said there is nothing they can do to help me. I said it is a brand new item and at lease you guys could help me to discuss the issue with the Yahoo auction seller but they refused. I was hoping they could provide some kind of support or help me with warranty claim but the product is no longer in Japan, and Denon does not honor international warranty. So the only way to get help is to physically carry this 30kg box back to Japan and get warranty job done inside of Japan, which is almost impossible due to the fact I am in Taiwan and would not want take the risk of flying during the covid 19 outbreak. I could ship this into Japan but there is no way for me to receive the fixed / return shipment from the manufacturer. Not a good experience. As a result I have open up a chargeback or dispute with my credit card company…”

So basically how Buyee works is that people like myself who lives over seas can buy merchandise from sellers in japan and Buyee works as a middle man for you. You buy what you like from the sites Buyee gives you access to and the buyer will ship everything to Buyee's warehouse where your items are held for 30 days, this is in order for you to keep buying more things you are looking for. Once you are ready for shipping you can combine all the items that you have purchased that is in storage at their warehouse and they will take care of packing and shipping it to you. Ive only purchased a few items so far but I must say everything has been very stress free on my end at least. Buyee has sent me emails updated me on every step of my item purchases, from the time I purchase to the time it arrives at the warehouse. I'm loving this site so far. I do know they tend to offer a lot of coupons to help with international fees or coupons for discount on their purchasing fee which I really appreciate. I did have to contact customer service through their email channel about a coupon issue but they replied back within a day which is something amazing and makes me trust this site a lot more. As a avid Kpop collector this site really is the site to go on for rare merchandise!”
“I love using Buyee. I have been a regular user for maybe three years now. I am able to buy Japan exclusive items using its platform, and the addition of the Mercari marketplace allows access to more sellers. I enjoy their free warehousing services, which I was able to take advantage of during the Covid outbreak. I was able to continue purchasing items online in spite of the many shipping restrictions worldwide, as I am able to stock them in the warehouse until the situation got better. Of course, buyee has some additional fees you can find burdensome, but you can take this out by using the various coupons they offer. There are even coupons that discount your international shipping rates. The key is to time your purchases whenever this coupons are available.”

“I use Buyee very often to get things from Japan. There are many platforms for you to choose your items from. Many are rare items which are only available in Japan. The consolidation shipping helped me to save a lot of money when you choose sea shipment. If you choose EMS shipping, there isn't any saving. In fact, it may cause more money when you consolidate your items. But if you want to receive your items fast, then choose EMS. Sadly, you are unable to edit or declare the price of your items purchased through any platforms in Buyee. So be prepared to pay tax when your inbound shipment arrived. Best to check your country tax requirements in order to make the best deal out from shipping.”
