I had a very unsatisfactory visit to Café Nero in West Hampstead on Wednesday, 4th November. The customer service was poor and unwelcoming, with staff showing little to no friendliness or attentiveness. The two staff Barristers were very chatty and to each other and choose who they say hello. This is not the first time these barristers have been rude to us, it getting uncomfortable now because we have been coming for nearly 7years. Additionally, the cleanliness of the café left much to be desired. Tables were cluttered with used cups and plates, making it impossible for customers to sit without first clearing the tables themselves. This is not what one expects from a reputable café chain. It was disappointing to see such hostility from these two barristers and a low standards of service and cleanliness, and I hope management addresses these issues promptly to ensure a better experience for future customers.

I have frequented Neros over many years on the horsefair branch and never have i been treated so disgracefully. We ordered a vegan pastry slice fir my 4 year old daughter who has a serious allergy to dairy. I asked twice to be sure, that i had been served the correct item and that it was vegan and was told yes if course it is. I got back to my car and gave it straight to my daughter but she said it smekt strange it was only when i got home that i realised that it was definitely not vegan. It is extremely lucky for Nero that she only had a corner of the pastry. Had she eaten it we would probably be tellimg a different story. To make things worse we returned to the shop the following day to ask why we had been served carelessly and the kids behind the counter thought it was funny. I spoke to a young girl who could not care less about their negligence and there was no sign of an apology our caring attitude towards my daughter or us as customers. We werent even able to get our money back on the item Nero need some very serious staff training, its only a matter if time before they kill someone who has serious allergies. I wont be going bsck EVER

I visited 261 High St., Exeter. Bought a cheese/ham toastie, crisps and coffee. Coffee was provided at point of payment but by the time the toastie arrived it went lukewarm almost cold. There was no sauce no pepper or salt so that did not suit. Whilst waiting I noticed the state of the floor and doormat. Sadly the person who keeps this clean has left some time ago and there has been no replacement. All in all it was a rubbish visit and a big disappointment as to what I have enjoyed when visiting same company in Plymouth.

Myself and a friend called in for coffee and cake on Wednesday at 8.05 pm and we're made not very welcome just assumed we should have a carry out went to put coffees in paper cups instead of asking when we corrected him by saying we are sitting in he replied we are closing soon even though there was 55 minutes before closing we certainly won't be returning in future it was the Nero on upper level of metro centre

I stopped in to get a drink there were two people waiting at the end of the counter, no one else in line. I went and stood behind them and waited for my turn. When the picked up their order. I stepped up to the counter. The woman asked if I was picking up. I said no I want to order. She took my order and when I cashed out she said " And fir next time you walked around and came from the wrong end. Our line start in the other direction. Seriously...what difference does that make in the flow especially when there were two people ahead of me. It was her tone rude and unnecessary. I made sure she saw me select no tip. Also. If you go here and plan on sitting be sure to order your drink to ho. I'm pretty sure that I was given a small mug deliberately and paid for a medium.

Caffe Nero has decent food and drinks, but they aren't worth the price. Also, the staff are extremely varied. Some are polite, and normal, but this seems to be rare. Most of the staff are rude and look bored. I was kicked out of the store for bringing WATER, yes water from my bag while I was looking for a seat to wait for my friends to arrive. The rude barista told me that, "You can't bring outside food or drink." -🤓 when another white woman brought a full bag of potato chips into the store, without a word from the barista. I am not white. I've never had a problem with bringing in some food or water into the store, and I was also getting something from the Caffe Nero anyway, so he just lost service and a possible tip, but he probably wouldn't have gotten one anyway as he was not friendly and seemed bored in general. Would not recommend at all, unless you're getting a free voucher for drinks. (Promo Code COFFEE23 on the app)

Yesterday the fat guy in Caffe Nero earls court told me to 'Get a Life' after he made a mistake with my order. I asked for Salted caramel and he was adamant it's Caramel Shortbread. I don't want any freebies from you Caffè Nero because I am so traumatized and will never ever return. I have it on video FYI. Will share it with Starbucks Costa Coffee for their staff training.

I was ordering at the till when the only staff, a tall girl with dark and very bright pink hair, rude, left to talk to a young woman who was seated with her friends. The woman was taking pictures of the frames on the wall. It was 7h30 in the morning. Week day. Empty room. The place was dirty with food on the floor. The waitress shouted "you can't take pictures in here, it's not allowed". The woman had her mask on and asked why she couldn't as she does it for Instagram and never had any trouble here in doing so. The waitress had no mask and went closer to the woman's head and said something like : I work here, I don't know why you talk back to me! You work here? No! I do! They should have said (the other members of staff) to you you can't take pictures in here!". The young woman said "that's ok no worries I heard you" then went back to her friends. I finally had my coffee when the waitress shouted over the till, to the young woman who was minding her own business "yeah yeah you can talk about it as much as you like if you're not happy you can go elsewhere!" That was so rude! People who came in by that time all saw this. Shame on her. I will never go back again when that member of staff serves. Ever. I have to mention that the young woman was black. I hope it has nothing to do with it but its worth mentioning.

Why is it that Cafe Nero and other coffee shops, see the use of disposable carry out cups a better prevention from covid than washing reusable cups. The risk of spreading covid virus from these cups, being carelessly disposed of would be a far greater risk, than using well waged reusuale cups. There is also the environmental damage caused to the environment from these cups.

I was not a client until recently (never liked the coffee), but got encouraged to try it again recently after going to Caffe Nero in Poland and loving it. Sadly, same terrible drink made with flat hot milk, not a trace of texture and creaminess, so I am giving up again. (except in Poland where they know what they are doing). Oh and a faulty app too. My husband and I wanted to use a voucher, worked for me, did not work for him. When we sent our feedback to appsupport we got a multitude of answers, from "you have already used it", to "you cannot have two accounts", and then back to "you have already used it". So, staff at Caffe Nero do not make good coffee and do not want to fix their app problems. If there is any reason for us to switch from Costa, we have not found it yet.
