“After years of using my old Canon EOS it was time to upgrade, but which Canon to choose as the replacement was the question - I needed some good advice from someone who knows cameras and photography, not someone who may be selling a camera one minute then a washing machine to another customer later. I found the staff at the Calumet Birmingham Hagley Road store really helpful and before advising which would be the best cameras for me asked about what sort of photography I do and what I needed in a camera - the EOS 70D I purchased is spot on for what I need. My next visit will be for a new camera bag which I could also do with upgrading.”

“I received an order confirmation after placing the order but this was the only communication I received. Checking my account online up to an hour before the scheduled delivery it was only saying order being processed. I paid an extra £15.95 for a next day pre 10.30 am delivery, it arrived about 11.00 am (late). I was pleased with the item I ordered.”

“First time I've used calumet, thought from appearance the Birmingham branch was aimed at keen amateur / professional photographers and would offer good advice and products. I went in seeking advise about wireless flash use, bought a product and returned it the following day as the instructions in it said almost the opposite of what the staff member had told me and it did not match my needs (no e-TTL function country to what I had been told). Took 5 days to refund the money to my account. I don't think I will visit calumet again anywhere or recommend you.”

“I ordered a Manfrotto carbon fibre tripod but received the aluminium version . Delivery was as expected on the following day. On receipt I contacted customer services and was told the warehouse did not have the item I required in stock, so they would not be able to do a collect and dispatch using Fed-ex, as the replacement Item was to come from a Calumat store. I was advised that as soon as the tripod had been received back then a replacement would be sent out. The fed-ex courier arrived the next day to collect the aluminium tripod. I waited two days but still the carbon fibre tripod had not arrived. A follow up call to customer services revealed that the return service by Fed-ex was ordered using a 3 day service and I should wait a couple of days longer. This I did and had to call the customer service number yet again to confirm it had arrived. The representative took my number and said he would call back later once he had located the tripod. This he did at 3.30pm when he confirmed the replacement tripod was sent out from delivery the next day. Rather a long winded episode for what should have been a next day delivery. Overall this took a week to arrive and three calls to the customer service team. The simple mistake of sending the wrong item was exacerbated by the slow return method. the warehouse had checked out a carbon fibre tripod, so should have still had my tripod on the shelf albeit the computer record may not have stated this.”

“My order arrived very quickly (considering the season) and the staff were helpful. My only minor gripe is that part of the order wasn't included - a case should have been included with the package I bought - but the store assistant promptly contacted the warehouse to order this so no problem. Very happy with the camera and lenses for now!”

“I needed a folding background and stand in a hurry over the Christmas period. I found the shop to be an oasis of calm amidst the festive shopping frenzy in Central London. “They did exactly what they said. I ordered a camera, it was out of stock at Bristol but in their London store. They advised me it would be delivered overnight - & it was!! :-) Which was great as it was needed for xmas present!! :-)”
