We were recently looking for a car for my wife. Wow was I glad we had the Carfax! Three of the cars we test drove ended up being re-built titles. In one, the owner claimed there was only 87k on the car...turns out there was 187,000 on it. Yikes! We eventually narrowed our search to two cars, both with clean Carfax reports. Thank you!

I was looking for a car for my son, a BMW 300 series or 500 series. Thanks to CarFax, it showed me so many salvage cars on the market and led me to a one owner 328 model that was cared for. Thank you CarFax.

After searching quite a while for cars in my "affordable zone," I finally started finding vehicles, mostly in Albuquerque. Since that is about a 2-hour drive from our home, I could not waste time looking at cars that were hopeless, so I invested in the five-Carfax package. The very first vehicle I checked, a nice-enough-looking Ford Ranger, turned out to have been a shop vehicle for a car dealer after starting life as a rental, and it had been through two accidents and six owners. I passed, even though the owner offered me a price $1,000 less than the original asking price. Two more Carfax reports turned up questionable histories on cars I was looking at, and then my fourth report came up clean and recommended a price above Kelley Blue Book's. The Carfax report's last reported mileage was off by 100% (this car had 132k instead of the 65k Carfax reported, and that probably accounted for the price recommendation), but the vehicle had been driven the last several years by a student attending a local college, and its interior had a harder life than its mechanicals. After looking at and test-driving the 2002 Hyundai Elantra, I purchased it for $250 below the asking price. It needed tires and a new axle and tie rods up front, but it had been mechanically kept up pretty well, and it wasn't leaking any fluids except around the torn axle boot. In the month since I've had the car, I haven't had any problems except for a squeaking and probably in need of replacement serpentine belt. The new tires cleared up the vibration I experienced at highway speeds, and the new axle and boot restored steering to its normally quiet and smooth operation. The 5-speed transmission and the radiator had both been replaced, so the car is in many ways ready for the long haul. The lack of serious accidents and the no-lemon guarantee, plus the buy-back warranty from Carfax, gave me some welcome peace of mind when buying this car. Thanks!

I have always wanted a convertible, it is my dream car, well finally at the age of 47 I found a beautiful E320 Cabriolet with is going to ne a collectors item by the way. To my surprise the seller was asking way below book. Well you know the old saying if it is to good to be true then it isn't true, well I ran a Carfax to my wonderful surprise and my husband was totally shocked, cause he is one if those skeptics. Well I ran the Carfax and it came back with the most awesome news about the car and gave us a money back guarantee if it was a lemon then they would refund the amount we paid. So after the Carfax was ran we went to take this beauty for a drive and bought it on the spot!!! Thank you Carfax for the wonderful information that you provide and for helping by my Dream Car, and for making the old saying not true!!!

We were looking to replace my Jeep Grand Cherokee with another SUV. I was looking for a Ford Escape AWD. The last two cars we have purchased I went to Carfax prior to my search. I will never buy a used vehicle with running Carfax first. I went to one dealer that had what I was looking for spoke with a Salesman told him what I wanted and he assured me the Escape was what I wanted. It was raining and I told him I would be back the next day unknowing to him I got the VIN. Went home ran the VIN through Carfax and found the Salesman was not being truthful needless to say I never went back. On the Carfax website a Ford Escape came up described exactly as I was looking for. We went to the dealer test drove the 2011 Ford Escape and it is now parked in our driveway.

I signed up for the car fax to assure the information was true about a car I was interested in. It varified the information I was given by the seller and gave me the peace of mind to make the purchase. Worked great.

Several years ago, I was in the process of purchasing a 2006-2008 Corvette and found one online. The owner had stated the vehicle had an insurance claim due to a rock flying up and cracking the windshield. This seemed reasonable because the car was equipped with GM's Heads Up Display. This requires a special laminated windshield that generally costs $1200. So I could understand making a claim to get that repaired. I ran the Carfax and asked the owner to confirm the date of the incident. His dates didn't match the Carfax, so I did some additional research and obtained the Sheriff's police report of the incident. It turned out that the car had been in a minor fender bender in a parking lot and the back of the car was damaged. The police report had both the owner and his wife listed as occupants and there was a basic sketch of the incident. When I confronted the owener about the information, he flat out denied the incident occured and that there had to be a mistake. Needless to say I didn't end up purchasing the vehicle because the seller was clearly dishonest and who knows what else he was hiding. If it hadn't been for the Carfax, I likely would have purchased that vehicle. I always get the Carfax!

Carfax didn't help me find a car but helped in finding my recently bought used car's history. It was very helpful in detailing the car's visits to the dealership and helped me figure out what services the car needed regarding maintenance being that the car has a high compression diesel engine.

Using car fax assisted me in eliminating prospective autos by allowing me to establish reasonable expectations for a used vehicle. When the right combination of factors: owners, mileage, area of country used, service records--I was able to jump on it and get an excellent vehicle at a bargain price. The purchase was made with confidence.

CARFAX Report gave me the needed peace of mind to travel from Chicago to Arizona to purchase my new truck After my Lincoln Mark LT encountered black ice on the expressway in Northwest Indiana and introduced itself to the safety wall, I was in the market for a vehicle. I had previously owned a Ford Excursion and was very happy with it. Many times my family will go out to dinner in a group of seven and we would have to take two vehicles. So I made the decision to purchase a 2005 Ford Excursion. My prior Excursion had the V-10 gas engine and this time I wanted the Power Stroke Diesel. I started my search locally and there were several to choose from, but one stood out. A dealer had one that the CARFAX Report showed had started its life in Arizona. It was cleaner than the others for sale and had no rust on the trailer hitch. All of the other Excursions had rust on their trailer hitches from the road salt used in our area. Unfortunately the Arizona Excursion for sale in Chicago sold but I had an idea. Why not purchase an Excursion in Arizona. My search began on Craigslist and I found the perfect Excursion. It was a 2005 Eddie Bauer with the Power Stroke Diesel and only 75000 miles on the odometer. It also had a transferable warranty and the owner provided me with a documented service history. Everything looked and sounded great but I did have some concerns about traveling that far to purchase a vehicle. My next step was to order a CARFAX Report for this vehicle and it was all the confirmation that I needed. The service records and the CARFAX Report matched perfectly and the CARFAX Report was clean showing no accidents. The CARFAX BUYBACK GUARANTEE also made me feel good about this purchase. Everything went great with the current owner picking my son and I up at the airport and us dropping him off at his home and starting our journey back to Chicago. I will save the story about the blizzard we ran into near Flagstaff for another day.

I met a gentleman at the local carwash and we started talking about our cars. He said he had a ?95 Corvette that he bought new that had 25Kmi and had decided to sell it. I was the first person he told that he was ready to sell. I always wanted a Vette and I was very anxious to see it and yes it was like new. The Carfax verified the low mileage was correct! We made the deal and now it?s all mine.

When my husbands car broke down for the FINAL time, we needed a car and quick! Our local neighborhood car dealer had just taken delivery of a used Toyota Echo but had no evidence of its actual mileage (was exempt on the title) and no service records. We subscribed to CARFAX and found that the history the former owner gave was accurate and this 13 year old vehicle has the actual mileage (only 38,000!) After this car's owner passed away, it was left to another family member who already had a car, so, it sat under a shade tree for 16 months. Almost every record of every service conducted on this vehicle was provided for our viewing on the CARFAX report, and providing us peace of mind & reassurance in our potential investment. After a desired fluid change and tune-up, my husband was back on the road, and , we owe it all to CARFAX. We wouldve spent days or even longer trying to get a good sound vehicle with a solid report if not for CARFAX. Thank you CARFAX! Youre the best!

I was looking for a first car for my son and found a local dealer selling a 2008 Jeep wrangler Sahara. The dealer said the car had a clean title, clear autocheck, and was accident free. He faxed me a copy of the title and it was indeed a clean New Jersey title. I was a bit weary of this dealer and decided to run a Car Fax. Even though the title came up clean, their was a a history of a total insurance loss from an accident six months previous. I was weary of the clean autocheck since I was burned one time before by them. The Car Fax history prevented me from making a hudge mistake. Don't trust your car history to anyone else...get a car fax before buying any used vehicle.

Well I should have got the CARFAX on the first car that I bought from a friend but I was sure to get it on my recent purchase. I was not searching for any particular car, as for the first car was a 1995 Mazda 929, turned out to be a $1400 mistake on top of the $1200 that I paid for the car. You are supposed to trust your friends right? Anyway, I went down a main strip of car lot after car lot listening to them tell me NO, or need more down. I stopped at this one lot and under the snow, I could see a glimmer of red, they told me to go fill out some paperwork and they would get the car ready for me to test drive. A few short minutes later, there she was, A Victory Red 2004 Chevy Cavalier LS Sport. The complete sports package, tinted windows, spoiler, chrome wheels, she was speeding just sitting there. I drove it around the block and it felt really nice. I got home and knew that was the car I wanted, since I am turning 40 soon, I wanted to find what little bit of youth I have left. The CARFAX came back with four owners before me 1 personal with 3 dealership owners. So I was okay with that and the mileage matched. There was a minor accident report but it was back with the first owner. So I insisted that it be checked out over at the Chevy dealer next door. Sure enough, the CARFAX helped, the instrument cluster was needed to be replaced, the theft system was all out of whack, but the structure of the car was sound and true. I have been driving my little hot lady all over Colorado and loving every minute! The only thing missing, is a little CARFAX Fox sitting on the dash to make things perfect!!

Was about to drive several hundred miles out of town for a black ?07 F150 STX I had found on the web; mileage, price and other options were pretty much what I was looking for. The dealer didn?t have a CarFax on it but admitted there had been a ?little damage high up on the right front quarter panel? but insisted he had fixed it and it was nothing to worry about. I got a copy of the purchase order he had sent to my credit union, so I took the VIN from the order and ran a CarFax and discovered, much to my dismay, that the truck had been totaled. I called the credit union, cancelled the order and ended up getting another vehicle from another dealership. The truck was not black like I wanted but it had a squeaky clean history and didn?t have a rebuilt title. For sure CarFax saved me from potentially buying a disaster, and that?s ?just the Fax, ma?ma.?

My old truck finally died, after years of hanging on by a thread, and that meant I had to buy another one. Not being able to afford a ?new? pickup, I hit the used market. Let?s be honest ? I am NOT a mechanic. I?m not even mechanical at all. And so the thought of buying a new pickup without some kind of ?insider? information was something that scared me to death. I bought the five-report package for Carfax and began searching through the process, ruling out two potential trucks based on information in those reports. While I was narrowing down my search for a pickup, my 17-year-old son decided it was time for him to but his first vehicle, so we began running Carfax reports on some that caught his eye. I never like to spend money, but thanks to Carfax I now own a 2006 Ford F150 with less than 75,000 miles that is a terrific vehicle, and my son now owns a 2008 Subaru Outback that he purchased for $7,000 less than the retail value. Carfax, you made life better for us all the way around.

I spotted a truck from the street on i driving on . It was what i was looking for but it was on a used car lot in a part of town that had a lot of car lots and the reputation of these car lots lets just say buyer beware. I went in talked about the truck and it had high miles on it for that year excessive miles. Took it for a test drive and was really surprise at the performance this truck did. Told the owner I would think about it and wrote down the VIN # went home that night and ran a car fax report turns out the high mileage was due to the previous owner driving from southern Calif to mid east Ohio a lot. I bought the truck and there is nothing wrong with it and made a good deal to boot. Never would have given that truck a second look with that many miles on it except, car fax exposed the fact that they were interstate miles and not stop and go there is a huge difference. Thanks car fax

CARFAX IS THE BEST !! I was looking to replace a older Chevy Tahoe which I could use as a second car to lessen the miles I put on my new Ford Fusion Sport. After selling the Tahoe I wanted something similar but a little smaller or even a pickup truck if I could find a great deal. I had a limited budget for a second car and received great pricing advise on the vehicles I researched. Over the course of many months I test drove Nisan, Chevy, Ford, Dodge, Jeep and Land Rover. I was really excited about the Land Rover that looked great inside and out but thanks to CARFAX I found out it had a junk/salvage title and the mileage was falsified by 98,000 miles !! By the way I confronted the dealer and he denied it for a day then called me back and said he was SORRY! Boy I sure wasn't. I settled on a Dodge Durango - only 2 owners - low miles as per the average and had all the bells and whistles I was looking for. The best part is I got it at 30% below Blue Book Pricing and I am very happy with it. Anybody looking new or older vehicle simply follow the CARFAX information and guidelines. YOU WILL FIND THE VEHICLE YOU WANT AND WILL BE HAPPY ! JUST LIKE ME !!

Carfax is very amazing. The let you run all the license plates for free with.a full price trial. I ran the truck I bought and also ran the truck I sold, then went on treasure hunt of cars for my son. There are some really nice looking cars that are salvage or have been wrecked. Without carfax I would have never known it.
