Eagerly seeks the car you crave for, even if not on the premises, always willing to go one step further. A modern purchase concept where you could say customer is still king

Carshop have tried to spam this account with one long email so people don't read the real reviews. Please do not buy from them. They are sharks. Read the real reviews on this site. Do not buy cars from carshop. They are sharks. Selling dangerous unchecked cars, you will not get your money back. They are scammers.

AVOID - DREADFUL PLACE Went to Carshop Cardiff looking for a family car, spotted a Mercedes we liked. We noticed there was overspray on the front alloy, a massive diagonal scratch across front emblem and bad fogging/blurred xenon headlight. Car also had slow to retract rear seatbelt and a very tough/stiff clutch. Mentioned this to the used car sales manager Sam, he immediately muttered 'It's going to be one of those days'. He begrudgingly agreed to fix the overspray and driver’s headlight but said the scratch and other issues would be too expensive to fix. He said the clutch being tough is 'just how these models are'. We gave them nearly a week to fix the issues, and on collection spent roughly 40mins attempted to be sold an extended warranty for the vehicle at a cost of an extra £1000. We politely declined this, and went to the collections desk. I queried if the car had been valeted and the girl said 'I don't know, I think so' which didn't give either of us much confidence. I was then handed 3 sheets of badly photocopied A4 paper as the entire service history. I asked where the manual was and was told 'there wasn't one'. The car was driven to the exit and my wife said I should check the agreed work on the front had been done. I could see to my horror literally nothing had been touched. The wheels didn’t even have basic tyre dust caps on them and their handover checklist was completely blank too. We were asked 'What do you want to do'?. We were told all the managers had gone home for the day and there was nobody to speak to. We decided we didn't want to take the car and were shocked as we explained that previously Sam had said the car was currently in the workshop with the issues being worked upon which clearly was a lie. We ended up coming home extremely stressed, with a new keeper slip, over £10k out of pocket and without a new car. What followed was further visits to undo the tax, return the 2nd key and wait very patiently for our money to be returned. Numerous other phonecalls were made to the used car manager who was continually extremely rude and unhelpful on the phone. He decided they now wouldn't fix the headlight as previously agreed as clearly it was too expensive and tried to say the alloy could be fixed at an undetermined later date, excuse for the work not being done was a 'family emergency in the workshop' even though the car was left with them for 4 days. We were going to argue that the agreed work was actually written in black and white on the sales order but in the end myself and my wife agreed that this was no longer about the car, it was about customer service. We had to call them, nobody contacted us, and the only person that eventually apologised was the business manager Les. Instead of communicating with us that the issues couldn't be fixed, they just told us everything was ready and hoped that we wouldn't notice. I'm sure some people will go to Carshop and have a straightforward sale with no issues, but judging by the lack of care and honesty, quality and customer service we can both solidly say that Carshop Cardiff has an extremely long way to come before it becomes a place anyone should go to purchase a car. We are particularly disappointed that Sam's lack of customer care and attitude wasted our time and also the time he wasted of the dealership's business manager Les who despite the longwinded warranty pitch was actually a very pleasant and helpful individual to deal with. We were also assured a call back from the regional sales manager due to our appalling experience, it's September 6th and all of this happened on July 16th, so nearly a 2 month wait with no phonecall. Go figure. We have since bought a new family car the same model in immaculate condition with 20k less mileage on the clock, with full Mercedes main dealer service history and mountains of paperwork with a leather bound manual, and a clutch that is buttery smooth for £500 less with double the free warranty through an independent local dealer. Do yourself a favour, give them a miss! 0/10

terrible experience here, Wakefield car shop, we bought a land rover Range Rover evoque in may 2021, we have worked so hard all our lives so thought we would like a bit of luxury not that that matters. . We purchased a 2 year car shop warranty at a cost of £ 899 in case anything went wrong and a service plan. 7 months in the pdf filter had to be replaced. Then on 11 July the pdf red warning light came on, no amber warning. The car had to be towed to the garage, we heard absolutely nothing for days, made thirty plus phone calls to try to find out what’s happening. Eventually spoke to a condescending person at car shop, The guy salmon land rover garage in Wakefield wanted to check the part as they supplied it in December, car shop said it would be driven or towed to guy salmon but if anything went wrong on the journey we would have to pay!! Car shop now told us the pdf filter was not covered by the two year warranty even though it was fitted in December. Guy salmon eventually said they couldn’t find a fault with it. Back to car shop Wakefield. Now going to bill us £1400 will hear something Monday/Tuesday last week, Still no phone call! I have requested to speak to someone on the website again. We have been blamed for the problem being told it’s because of the way we drive the car, we go away quite a bit yes on the motorway, we were never told how to drive the car when we bought it. It’s now nearly six weeks and we STILL haven’t heard from the car shop. I feel so frustrated and badly treated. Hope this helps other people as I have looked at some forums and I don’t think we are the first to have this issue, communication is diabolical, I am now going to seek some legal advice looking at consumer rights act 1995 for that new filter .

We are now three months from date of collection of our vehicle. We collected on the Sunday, and rang on the Monday listing the MANY problems found on the hour long journey home. Only today, three months on have I been allowed to return the car to have the faults rectified. I don't feel confident at all that the major fault found in the gearbox will be honestly dealt with. I am expecting to be told it was something minor, only to drive away with the same fault and the long long process of getting it fixed will begin again. Or worst still, be told they can't find the fault and I am now out of warranty. PLEASE PLEASE read the reviews. People are all saying the same. Big sales push, no aftersales care. GO ELSE WHERE. I wish I had.

absolutly terrible , when buying the car in manchester the sales team were all over us and we purchased the car and took the 2 yr warranty excellent ,however there were a few little things that required doing and they agreed we were told that it would be contacted and done in sheffield which was more convenient , weeks passed with no call !! tried telephoning 22 times left ringing , i eventualy went down to the store and explained all (no recollection or notification from manchester , told it would be 2/3 weeks for a diagnostic check , then no communication to book the car in again called 15 times and someone answered eventually saying someone would call back , NOTHING again , so i went down again and was told appologies it would be sorted that day before 6.00pm. NOTHING so i emailed and had a reply appologies awaiting approval from manchester !!!! this is 3 months later ! i asked for the manager to call who did !! and appologised again and told me it would a further 3 weeks to get the car done , i said it was not acceptable , she then challenged me to find a local garage who would do the work in the next couple of days and provide a loan vehicle , I HAVE !! ammaizingly lol, i cant get in contact with them, tried the direct line / email ha ha still awaiting a call back to proceed , purchased the car on 28/05/22 may and still not sorted 08/08/22 SHOCKING AFTER SALES CARE by the way it asks below how did you communicate with company 0 how did the company replay they didnt 0

oid unless you want finance We went here to have a look around at their cars for sale , all the cars are fenced in and you have to go in through the sales office ….. this is where the experience begins !! They sit you down , ask you what you’re looking for , you say you’re not sure but something like a ??? They then look for that model , tell you they haven’t got any of them here but could get you one ….. all the time asking for numbers / email addresses and greeting every reply with the word ‘perfect ‘ …. Then they explain they the finance they offer is regulated , you say you don’t need finance and they show you anyway !! Then they go away to see the manager , to “ see if he can help “ which really means to tell him you don’t want to go into debt and won’t be convinced to look at cars you don’t want !! Eventually we were freed to lol around the pitch , to see cars over priced by 3 or 4 grand compared to similar cars for sale …. A very very uncomfortable experience altogether

The car I was planning to purchase was filthy, I was planning to trade-in and was offered £3500 less than I eventually sold it for (Evans Halshaw). I was kept waiting around despite making an appointment.

Sale was great, couldn’t have asked for better. However what I could ask better was the after sale care. It was shocking. My car was supposed to be cleaned as i paid for advantage. On the day of collecting the car (I was booked in and they were expecting me) took nearly 4 hours to get my car and sign it over. Only to be told 4 hours later my car is covered in polish. But I can wait an hour for it to be cleaned or come back at a later date. I decided to go back. As I had spent long enough there already. I was also booked in to have a “mop and polish” as agreed when I brought the car for the bird poo stains that had eaten the lacquer and to have my wheels straightened as these were “bent” I turned up on the day to have this work done. I got a hire car for this period. 1 week later I got my car back. Only to have had my wheels painted a different finish to what was originally on the car. The clean was atrocious especially when it’s claimed to be a “professional clean” and the “mop and polish” hadn’t been done. I told them about my wheels and I was told “ no they were like that when you brought the car” effectively calling me a liar. Only to prove that on the sales advert it specified the spec of the wheels. And also they used £20 worth of fuel on this occasion but agreed to put £20 back in. So once again my car was booked in for the same problems to be fixed once again. This time my car was with them 2 weeks. I had a hire car and this was filthy. Looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. Finally got my car back after me having to chase them. Got told to go on a Sunday. Went down and no one from servicing was in…. I looked at my car and wow, that’s the only words I have for this. The had smashed/chipped my screen, scratched the paint work “trying” to remove the bird stains. And the car had even more polish added to it. Either way my car wasn’t road worthy due to the windscreen. At first they said they didn’t do it. But I could prove otherwise so they replaced the screen. On collection unfortunately I come down with covid so they dropped the car to my house. The car had done 49 miles and I live 4.3 miles from carshop. So 45 miles done in my car and the car arrived back with the same amount of fuel in after them putting £20 in, so they effectively used £40 of fuel and only put back in £20. I’m expected to return their car back on the same fuel so why is my car any different. The car is still booked in to have the bonnet sprayed and the door and roof to be sprayed too. I brought the car 4months ago and I’ve been able to drive this for about 1 and half months as it’s been back so many time to car shop. The communication from them is awful. You have to push for answers. They don’t contact you they just leave you waiting. Also they are refusing to replace the fuel they used. Mark the head of business doesn’t respond to his emails after sending multiple emails.

I really wish I’d read these reviews before using this dreadful outfit. As I write this I’m currently waiting to speak to a representative for the third time in 4 days. The car I purchased for £17,500 3 weeks ago has developed a fault and not once has anybody called me back to help rectify this. I was suspicious from the outset when I got home from picking the car up that the radiator was below the minimum line. If you’re reading this then you’re lucky enough now to know that you SHOULD NOT go anywhere near them under any circumstances. You have been warned.

Having bought our first car from Carshop 5 years ago we decided to revisit them to look for a new car. Having seen a car we were interested in online, we arranged to view it on Saturday. Car shop required a £100 delivery fee as it was at another branch, plus £99 holding fee! Unfortunately, when we arrived the car was not there. So, we looked around at some other vehicles. Having found one that we liked we went through the whole process of checks, test driving etc. When it came to their offer on our car as part exchange we were shocked and insulted by their ridiculous valuation and offer for our vehicle. It was a stunning £3,500 under the cheapest comparable vehicle being offered anywhere else online. We are talking about a fully serviced, immaculate vehicle with average mileage for the year! We had already been offered £2000 more for it that morning without any part exchange from a garage close by! That completely put us off of doing business with the Carshop ever again. We canceled any further business with them ie. the car that was eventually going to be delivered for viewing on Monday and requested our £199 refund. I'm now currently on hold for the 5th time trying to contact carshop (30+ minutes each time). I have sent several emails, but to date, I have received neither confirmation nor reply. During the process of writing this complaint, I have just managed to get through to Carshop. A representative named Andy is presumably now chasing up my inquiry, but he did not have the authority to simply refund our payment. The last time we used Carshop 5 years ago I wrote a very positive review. I'm afraid it will not be so positive this time. Really good when they are selling you a car, but awful and disinterested when you go back to them with a minor issue. They really don't want to know once they have your money!!
