I agreed to the unorthodox policies on the CarTrawler website, but when I arrived at the rental car counter I was given different policies. Total Scam! I refused the car and CarTrawler still tried to charge me. I disputed the charge with my credit card company and that was the first time they reached out to me and complained that they wanted me to cancel the dispute. What nerve!

I reserved a car view EasyJet which contracts out to cartrawler. The reservation was completely paid for a month ahead. Arrived at the airport, no car, they decided to rent out that same car to someone else. That was Sixt in Brindisi. Sixt was willing to refund, but Cartrawler blocked the refund procedure. They operate a scam, and we are the luckless consumers stuck at an airport with no car. Avoid at all costs.

Booked a car through EasyJet Car, because my flight was late and the Car Rental Desk was closed, they canceled my reservation for "No Show" and keep all prepaid money without offering any alternative or penalty for late Pick Up. This despite I correctly communicated the flight number in the reservation. Skip this company and book directly with the car rental company, you will be more protected in these situations. Costumer service practically useless, they cannot move or rebook reservation and all they do is sending premade email telling how sorry they are.

Avoid this company if you don’t want to loose your money. When they agree to give a refund when the service is not provided, they ended up by not doing it using ridiculous excuses. Don’t get scam by this company, don’t book online with them.

Don’t use this company, they are thieves how don’t provide the services paid online. If you don’t want to loose your money, avoid them. They use ridiculous excuses in order to not provide the service and keep the money.

Total scam! Worst website ever. 1. First the terms are not clear, you buy a full insurance and then end up at the actual car rental company putting up the excess or paying another insurance. The prices on the website were shown in local currency and then switched to euros for the excess amount. 2. The reservation cannot be changed at the car rental company. I wanted to change the main driver and add a me as a secondary driver but no, you have to cancel the whole reservation and loose every thing if you want to change. And yah, of course you get a higher price. So the solution is to keep what you have. 3. The full insurance is a scam. You pay one and at the car rental company you have to pay another to get rid of the excess(or provide a credit card). What is the point of doing this on this website if you have to do it again at the car rental company ?... 4. It is not clear what is covered what is not. They say "The car rental company may ask you for another insurance but you already have one..."

On May 20th, we made a reservation (PT802257950) through Easycar.com website (powered by CarTrawler) for a 7-seater car for the period 8-12 June 2022, in Porto/Portugal. On June 6th, we received a reminder of our booking with all the information about our car (that included 7 seats). When we arrived at the partner company to collect the car on the date and time scheduled, we were surprised with a 5-seater car, which did not meet our needs. At the time, the partner company’s employee explained that the company had informed EasyCar/CarTrawler that they did NOT have a 7-seater available. While we were, we made contact by telephone with EasyCar, who advised us to rent a car with the same features from the previous one from another company, so that we would be reimbursed, since the error was EasyCar/CarTrawler's responsibility. The orientation given by telephone was confirmed by the e-mail reproduced below, which was sent by EasyCar/CarTrawler at the same moment (Case number 01919609): “We are so sorry for the inconvenient caused by the no car availabilty. As discussed on the phone, you can rent car within the same category of car locally in the airport, and then you can send us a copy of the final invoice to this email in order to make the procedures of refund. I regret to hear that you experienced problems during the rental. I have escalated your query to our Customer Care department who will be in contact with you. I can assure you that they will make every effort to resolve this matter for you. We will aim to resolve your complaint within 20 working days from when it is created, but it can depend upon the type of problem and who the car rental supplier was.” Since the occurrence (almost THREE MONTHS later), we have continued to request the promised refund, which has NOT happened yet. Repeated contacts have been tried (by phone and e-mail), and EasyCar's answer is always the same: we have to wait. My concern is: how long do we have to wait to receive reimbursement for an expense caused by a mistake made by the company itself? p.s. In fact, on easycar.com the TrustPilot ratings shown on the home page are from CarTrawler and not EasyCar, which is MUCH lower. This practice by itself is bad faith.

I provided all the information I was required through budget but when I arrived in Mexico I was not allowed to use the car because I didn't have Mexican identification which was never told to me. I had to pay for transportation in Mexico in addition to the rental fee. They did not work with me at all. I was routed to Cartrawler who is refusing to refund me even though I never used the vehicle. They have told me to reach out to Budget to seek compensation when they are who Budget referred me to. Completely taking advantage of their power. Disgusting service and customer service

The app is useless I could not change the principal driver and they would not give us the car or refund the money! A Scam! Dont ever use it! Terrible service!

The worst service ever. I recently rented a car through CarTrawler (reaching them from Emirates Airlines website) in Switzerland. I made full payment of the rental to CarTrawler. Upon taking the car from Budget in Zurich, I added an insurance component that I paid instantly. Yet, I was later charged more than double the initial quote by Budget and after several weeks of investigations, CarTrawler confirmed that they can do nothing about it.

Terrible experience. Said they would refund, but still no refund after 10 business days. Last time I contacted them a bot answered and said I would get a response within 20 business days!! After contacting them on WhatsApp the amount that will be refunded is suddenly half of the original amount. Such a terrible experience. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this scam company!

Total scam. Never book here. It cost me 500 euro extra because of a flight delay which I had announced before. When I tried to pick up the car later on they told me the contract was cancelled because I did not pick up the car in time. After calling the office they can’t do anything for you and you have to sign a new contract otherwise you can’t get a car. Avoid this company, Be warned!

This company is a fraud, booked car through Platinum Amex and intermediary Cartrawler did not transfer the full paid rental amount to Europcar and Europcar made me pay the difference which Cartrawler stole from the contract. Avoid by all means

Worst agency ever, I was not able to get my rental, because of name change; ruining my whole family vacation, and loosing my money because name changes cannot be made at the time of pick up.

First and last booking with these cowboys and every normal person should stay away from them. We booked a car rental for our family holiday in Barbados and three days after confirming everything I received an email cancellation saying their car rental provider in Barbados has no cars available. :-) To top it up I need to wait 23 days for my money because apparently their staff works from home?!?!? Avoid at all cost.

This company cheating, and not returning money, they trying find reason don't give a car,and they not returning reservations money. I lost 150 £ and looks like I will not get them back.

This company is liar and fraud they will took the money never showing in the airport or any where to pick up and not refund money, I believe This Emirates airlines fault, why they listed in their website, this kind of fraud company.

Don't ever rental a car from this company. 1h30 to be admitted in the rental office, then hired insurance online, that they said I would have to purchase other again if wanted I could ask for a refund for the online one, but not sure it worked...very very shady deal! Accepting my 2-year-old baby risking losing money, the card payment system did not work. The result, no car, no rental, lost money and did not give me the refund! Never will I ever rent a car from this service.
