“There seems to be a common theme here!!!
I ordered two virtual pub gifts, I had an email saying it had been dispatched followed by another a few days later saying it would be late. I finally received an email saying sorry, item maybe lost, apply for a refund.
This is where the fun started!!!!
I contacted this company to first be told, refer to card put through your door? What card?
Phoned again to be told, forward all emails regarding this which I duly did. They then sent me an email pic of my front door in October, no card present, (gets better) with another pic of a box in a warehouse in November in Lincoln which supposedly I’d collected at 7.52 on a Saturday with a completely different name!!! Also, I live in berkshire… do the geographical chuckling cheeses…
No one but the poor assistant on the phone would talk to me.., shocking customer service, I am livid”
“Do NOT order from this company unless you want to be disappointed.
Ordered goods and arranged a deliver, it appears that they allow you to order even if they don’t have the goods in stock. Awaited my delivery, didn’t turn up called and asked where my goods were, to be told they didn’t have 1 item. Would have been nice for you to call and advise that…. 3 calles later and still no goods”
“Nothing to Chuckle about when dealing with this company.
After a poor experience with the company in December (ordered birthday present to be delivered on 19th December, it didn't turn up until 23rd December) I thought I'd give them another go.
On 3rd February I placed an order to be delivered on 12th February, again for a present.
I received no notification from them to say it had been dispatched so on 11th February I logged in to my account to find the order was still 'in progress' I tried to get an answer from the 'live chat' and was met with we aim to deliver as close as possible to the date requested - clearly not when it hasn't been dispatched the day before it was due for delivery.
After emailing customer services i received an email to say it had been dispatched - it had at 17.37pm on a Friday evening, clearly no chance of it being delivered for the 12th.
No surprise it wasn't and here we are on the 14th, still no sign of it.
I won't be using you again, and I'll leave this review on every review platform to warn other people that they may well be disappointed with your service!”
“Wouldn't recommend if you want your order by a certain date. I asked for my order to be delivered Friday 17th which the company said they would dispatch a few days beforehand so it arrived by friday. But instead they dispatched it ON the friday so it's been sat in the postal depot from Friday all over the weekend and won't be delivered until Monday. I ordered my cheeses in plenty of time on the 1st Dec and the communication has been disappointing... I guess it's busy in the week up to Christmas and with Covid it's been hard. I did have this last year aswell but gave them the benefit of the doubt, unfortunately it is the same problem this year.”
“In a nutshell:
- Items delivered days later than I was promised it would be
- Damaged items were received due to them poorly packaging the products
- Cheese had a very short self-life
- Very poor customer service with total lack of care or interest.
I made a large order consisting of the Rainbow cheese, 3 x chutneys and the GNAW hot chocolate set. Upon making my order I spoke to the company and informed them I needed it by delivered by a certain date (Sat 27th November 2021). I was assured that I would definitely receive the order by this date. However - it didn't arrive! I then contacted them on the following Monday, and was told by the lady on the phone 'yeah i don't really know what's happened there?'.
She was very vague, and didn't seem to have a clue what was going on. Albeit, I eventually received my cheese the following day, one of the items (the hot chocolate set) was crushed and the box was damaged. This was due to them placing the 3 x heavy chutneys on TOP of the hot chocolate set - therefore, squashing it. I sent a picture to them via email to complain that unfortunately the item was now not giftable. They said they didn't see anything wrong with it but after several emails would only give me back 50% of the original value. I complained that this is not helpful considering the item is not suitable to give to someone now as it was damaged. I rang up to complain, and again the woman on the phone told me to only email them back as she 'didn't know'. She was the most unhelpful person I have spoken to. Not entirely sure why she has been given the job at answering the phones for customer service when she doesn't know how to respond to customers enquiries. Anyway...
In addition to this, the cheese which I ordered, I was assured as stated on the website that it would last up to 5 months. No - the best before date on the cheese in the box says February (so just over 2 months at best!)
It is a shame, because whilst the cheese looks nice, (we haven't tried it yet), I am no longer going to be a customer of the Chuckling cheese company.
They let me down with the delivery date, and they have let me down by sending damaged goods and failing to recognise this by replacing the item for me.
I will stick to other reputable cheese companies in future, as it is not worth the hassle with this company.
If you do decide to order from them, be prepared for the products to be delayed and or damaged in the process.”
“I ordered online a large number of cheese truckles to make gift hampers for the family members. I tried one of them - “Sunday Roast” and it was awful, it did not taste anything like in description on their website, just pure black pepper (lots of it!) and nothing else, so it was completely unusable as it was described as mild and the intended recipients do not tolerate extremely spicy good. I emailed their customer services, who (to be precise - Zara) then replied that my opinion of their cheese was incorrect and that their cheese is “very popular”. I then requested to return the order for a refund and never heard from them again!!! I left a negative feedback using a link they sent me and it got rejected, so buyers beware of positive reviews on their website, as they obviously publish only those positive ones. Trully shocking experience with this company, they are such a disgrace!!! I still cannot belive how unprofessional they have been…”
“Absolutely dumbfounded by this company…was so off to a good start! Customer service shocking! If not rude! Did not help at all, with a problem we had with one item, Spent a fortune too! Was a regular…not anymore! Unacceptable not to help us get it sorted after repeatedly sending pictures messages emails that they just didn’t respond too…so much so we gave up! Certainly wont use or recommend them again. Just wasting my time! So I’ve put this review up so u don’t waste yours 👍🏼”
“Our order which was a gift should have been delivered to friends 15th December. Following many unanswered emails, phone calls and Facebook messages, this company eventually responded promising the order would definitely be delivered on the 22nd December, a week later than it originally should have arrived. Now the 23rd December and still not arrived, now not answering any messages or calls. This is shocking customer service so we would not recommend at all. Only gave 1 star as not possible to give 0. Totally fed up with Chuckling Cheese Company. DO NOT USE THEM.”
