“Had a letter from police saying my car wasn't registered as having insurance. Contacted Close Brothers and it took forever to get through. Eventually I spoke to a guy who told me that my previous car was the one that was registered. Funny, as it was scrapped over 2 yrs ago. How does this happen?? Was told it sometimes does if you use comparison websites! Very strange as I definitely registered my current car. Said guy was supposed to call me back as my premiums were coming up a lot dearer for my current and correct car and he said he woukd sort things and phone me back. Still waiting. I cannot contact them either via e mail or any other form of communication. Keeps sending me back to original page. I've also tried to access my policy via online portal and there is notthing there except my finance agreement. Funny that isnt it. I'm currently cancelling my SO for payment and trying to contact to tell them why.

“I am.a customer trying to pay of my balance. On the phone for over a hour with two mobile phones calling this company at the same time no one picks up . So I called again and went through I dealership side pick up right away then transfer you back to the number no one is picking up . Email come back to you when you send on line you get so far and it shuts down service should not get any stars to put a Review”
“We had insurence with you a few years ago..my husband had a really minor scrap in the carpark that was hardly noticeable..there where no repairs done to his car and as far as am aware non to the other car either...we where told we had an access off 3 grand...close brothers made us pay it within 10 days saying they would let other insurence company's know so we couldn't get insurence anywhere else..we're still paying it off now because we had no choice but to get a bank loan so with there charges in all a tiny little scratch that you could heady see its cost us over 4000 pounds...please close brothers Is there anyway of a refund..even 1000 pound fees would of been alot to pay out..at the time the people who I spoke to on the phone where very rude and it wasn't just 1 person as I spoke to a few people..”

“Staff are rude. Professionalism is not there. If you ask specifics you get automated emails, even if you have sent them money and you would like them to confirm. There are some staff that have been ok in the past but those are few and usually leave. Concerned about the top management.”

Worst scamming company ever dealt with.
Do not reply to any correspondence and very rude. Complained 4 separate occasions. Took wrong amounts on direct debit and took 4 months to correct. Finance agreement now paid off and they they have taken incorrect last amount and taken extra month.
I'm not wasting any more time on these scum bags but I will be getting my money back. Do not know how they are still trading and I will check in future who the financing is with as I will be avoiding if it is them.
Honestly don't even consider it even if incredible deal. You will regret it.”

I had a business leasing agreement set up not by me but by business enterprise company. The business collapsed and they would not come to an agreement insisted on going to court. Beware the have deep pockets and equally crooked solicitors. After the business closes you cannot increase the debt. Close brothers have done just that and increased my debt several 100%. How are they able to operate and are not governed by any legal restrictions.”
“Should be ashamed, taking the money of the wrong bank account, then applying a fee which is almost as big as the actual payment, under the trading standards and consumer rights this is unfair! Failing to notify the consumer of missed payment, and applying the charge is not right! Telephone customer service is shocking, rude "assistant" named Abrsede, that could barely speak English, found almost impossible to understand what he was saying. Will encourage all my family and friends to leave this provider including myself and go elsewhere for good!”

They cancel direct debits without you noticing they then send letters saying you owe so much money with added fees you ring up to enquire as you have DD to be told they cancelled it admitted mistake so has to wait for paper work to make Payment plans 8 months later am still waiting for this paper work can never get through on the phone and today instead of sending paperwork they send court letters ! All done to the fault of them cancelling a direct debit but am sure if a customer did this it would be a breach of contract STAY AWAY FROM THEM”

“If I could give a 0 I WOULD. This month I defaulted on my insurance payment I rang them explained why this has happened apologises for any inconvenience & told them I would be paying a week later. Although I did say I could make payment of £100 there & then & pay the remaining £80 a week later ! No you can’t do that gotta be in full they said, ok no problem I said I will pay in full next week ! That was that. TWO DAYS later I get a letter to say there’s been a fee added on & I now owe £230 !!!! Dickheads I couldn’t afford the insurance HOW is adding a fee gonna help me in anyway !!!!! I had every intention of paying my insurance NOW I have every intention of not paying it !!! Send the debt to the bailiffs I’ll happily pay £10 a month back 🤪”
“I have close brothers as a direct debit aggrement for my car insutance via a broker , this is the fifth year running, i and the broker has requested the 18th of every month for my money to be taken ,they always take it about a week early , i have a standing order to put funds in my account every month on the 16th , so there early attempt can default, 5 years running this has happened , so you will inccur a charge on there behalf , they never follow up the brokers instructions , iam sure they get away with this a lot , a lot of people just roll over, NEXT TIME IF THIS HAPPENS ,I WILL NAME AND SHAME IN A BIG WAY ,YOU CHANCERS”

Made a formal complaint regarding the car we had taken finance out on as it had broken down / engine was in smoking and multiple other things over four times in the first six weeks of owning the car.
Michele Taylor from Close brothers "head of complaints" apparently !!!! Was honestly the most unhelpful person I have ever met, SEVEN MONTHS later I am still chasing her. She avoids phone calls, no response to emails, when you do get hold of her she makes ridiculous excuses non of which solve the fact that I am paying for a car I cannot use !! STILL we have no solution.
I wouldn't touch this finance company with a barge pole !!!!!!! Still waiting for a call back eight months later. DIO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !!!”

For give me fully refund ,but now still telling me the stories and and keep taking direct debit since then . Really bad company .i will go to ombudsmen as well ,also they conform ,they should not do what they doing to me right now .
