Couldn't give 0 stars but would have. My car was deemed a total loss by my insurance company. I've decided to retain possession but Copart is holding it "hostage" in hopes that I will give up and that they can resell it.

Liers. I bought Lexus RX 450, 2017 in August. We did understood that the car was damaged and it had a salvage title, but never thought the car was destroyed like this. What they did to sell this car is first repaired and put new front, rear bumper. So didn't realize that it was completely damaged. When opened capot front parts was completely destroyed. Unfortunately I can't attach real photo and copart photo. Never buy vehicles from COPART cheater. They should go to JAIL.

The customer service is terrible and not helpful. Copart does not care about the customer. They only care about charging the buyer huge fees which they keep for them as commissions and profit (it can add up to $1000 on the top of the bid price you won the car). Stay away from these crooks! You will be disappointed if you buy a car from them. It is not worth all the time and efforts to dispute of those illegitimate fees.

lies. customer support sucks, car was damaged after pictures were taken, AT the copart yard, they said it is "as is" so i guess then can total a car in the yard after purchase and its ok, managers would not call back, info from agents is about 30%accurate, rudeness on phone, shippers charge about 100$ MORE if a car is picked up from COPART as they have problems there as well

Great website and company to do business with so many vehicles to look at, and when you go to the auction side so straightforward to bid and pay.

This was a 2009 Toyota Tundra described as VANDALISM and Secondary Damage: MECHANICAL. The problem is after getting it home I found there was no oil drain plug. The engine was clean and apparently power washed until I replaced oil plug and tried to add oil and it came out of both sides of engine and now all over garage floor.A destroyed engine would have been known by seller and truck should have been sold as bad engine not just mechanical since apparently the vandalism was removing oil plug and engine run without oil. I expect them to put this on New Hampshire Insurance company {title holder} saying they weren't told it was being sold as salvage because engine was destroyed. I couldn't get a hold of an inspector before auction so called copart who had someone go look at it and they stated it just wouldn't start, so figured it had electrical problems. Basically we now have a bank loan on an insured lawn ornament that needs a $6000 engine.

Liars and a cheat of a firm is probably more accurate as a "code of buisness conduct" rather than "honesty and Integrity" as stated on their website. Bought Lot No: 33552937 which was discribed as unrecorded, primary; rear end damaged, secondary; minor dints and scratches. Run and drive. All panels were in place with only the rear bumper looking slightly detached/misaligned and a scuff in the middle. Had the vehicle collected with a round trip of 400 miles and then took it to a local body shop. After having the car washed and looking in the boot we found that the car had gone through extensive and extreamly poor previous repairs, the whole back end from the inside was creased with signs of hammering, rusted welding and cracked seems. Retail price 14.1k Copart purchase price £9.8k incl of fees and collection. Estimated cost of repairs in excess of 5.6k the damage is so bad that it would require a whole new back end with the boot floor cut out and a new one welded in place. Spoke to Copart Rochford and this was the response: I am writing following your recent complaint regarding Lot number 33552937. Whilst I understand your frustration and disappointment that the vehicle appears to have more damage than expected, I am unable to assist further as our terms and conditions clearly state that all lots offered for sale are sold ‘as is where is’. This means that we do not give any express or implied warranty that any lot will be fit for a particular purpose, be of satisfactory quality (or have been maintained at any level of quality whatsoever), be in a roadworthy condition or be mechanically sound. For your reference, I have provided an extract of our membership terms and conditions below: 8.1 ALL LOTS WE OFFER FOR SALE ARE SOLD “AS IS WHERE IS”. “AS IS WHERE IS” SALES ARE SALES WITHOUT ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY (INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR OF SATISFACTORY QUALITY). We expressly disclaim the accuracy or completeness of any and/or all information provided to you regarding Lots whether provided in written, verbal or digital image form (“Lot Information”). Lot Information is provided for convenience only. You agree that you will not rely on Lot Information in deciding whether or how much to bid on any Lot. Lot Information includes without limitation: year, make, model, condition, damage amount, damage type, roadworthiness, driveability, accessories, mileage, odometer readings, vehicle identification numbers, title, repairs needed, repair cost, repair history, title history, service history and total loss history. We expressly disclaim any and all representations (whether written or verbal), warranties and guarantees regarding the Lots we offer for sale. We do not guarantee that keys are available for any vehicles sold through us, regardless of whether or not keys are present in online images or are present in the vehicle during any pre-purchase inspection. The Lots we offer for sale may be missing components or parts. We do not guarantee that vehicles meet or can be modified to meet local emission or safety requirements. IT IS YOUR SOLE RESPONSIBILITY TO ASCERTAIN, CONFIRM, RESEARCH, INSPECT AND/OR INVESTIGATE TO YOUR SATISFACTION THE LOTS WE OFFER FOR SALE AND ANY AND ALL LOT INFORMATION PRIOR TO DECIDING WHETHER AND HOW MUCH YOU WISH TO BID ON ANY LOT. 8.2 YOU AGREE THAT ALL LOTS ARE SOLD “AS IS, WHERE IS” AND ARE NOT REPRESENTED TO BE IN A ROADWORTHY CONDITION, MECHANICALLY SOUND OR MAINTAINED AT ANY LEVEL OF QUALITY WHATSOEVER. THE LOTS MAY NOT BE FIT FOR PURPOSE AS A MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION OR FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSE AND MAY REQUIRE SUBSTANTIAL REPAIRS AT YOUR EXPENSE. THE LOTS MAY NOT BE OF SATISFACTORY QUALITY, TAKING INTO ACCOUNT ALL CONSIDERATIONS, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE PRICE YOU PAY FOR ANY LOT WE OFFER FOR SALE. You acknowledge and agree that we have excluded our liability in respect of terms that would otherwise have been implied into the Contract of Sale under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (as amended) to the fullest extent permitted by law, including without limitation the terms relating to Lots complying with their description and/or being fit for a particular purpose. You will note from point 8.1 of the terms and conditions mentioned above that as a member it is your responsibility to investigate (which may include physically viewing the lot) the lot to your satisfaction prior to placing any bid. To help members with this, lots are available to be viewed at our facilities during the week prior to their auction and we also have a specific ‘Additional Information’ email address for each of our facilities so that members can request additional information for lots they are interested in. We do make every effort to ensure we provide accurate descriptions of lots however, our descriptions are based solely on a visual inspection of the lot to ascertain the primary and secondary areas of damage present. Although such damage is highlighted to you in our advert for a vehicle, I must remind you that in line with point 8.1 set out above, the information we provide on an advert is purely for convenience only and, having agreed to the terms and conditions, you have agreed to place no reliance whatsoever on such information when you are deciding whether or how much to bid as the responsibility lies solely with you to investigate the lot to your satisfaction. Again, please accept my apologies for the frustration caused. If I can be of any further assistance in the future, please do not hesitate to contact me. I ask, where is your honesty in letting buyers know that this lot had previous poor repairs?
