“So My husband is on his father’s Costco account. I typically do all the shopping while he’s at work. I use his card with no issues whatsoever. Today I go in and all of a sudden it’s an issue. We live in the same home. We are MARRIED. What on earth is the issue???? So now he has to be inconvenienced by coming to Costco after a long day at work so we can get the things that I should have already been able to get! Some kind gentleman even offered to be there and allow me to use his card but apparently that was an issue as well. Costco y’all are screwing up big. Looks like bjs and Sam’s club are going to. E the way to go from now on. The least they could have done was let me finish making my purchase. I spend a lot of money at Costco but I will not be anymore.”
“Went to the food court and ordered 3 whole pizzas, no one waiting and took 40 minutes. the time they got the last one ready, the other were cold. I can understand if they were busy, but they were slow.”
“So last Monday I went to Costco to inquire about buying new tires for my truck so the tech came out and looked at my truck and tires and gave me a price and I paid on the spot for new tires and they told me that they would call when they came in. I waited a few days and called and when I called they told me that they came in and made me an appointment. I showed up yesterday for my 2:30 appointment. I run my own business so I put all my all of my appointments off and waited in Costco. They called me and told me that they could not install my tires because of a after market cover so I asked them to take the cover off and please install the tires. They told me from the minute that I arrived that they were very short staffed and that this would take much longer. I then got a call back on my cell that they would not remove the cover so I offered to take the Brake cover and they said no. I said hey I really nee the new tires and they said sorry and refused to install the tires. I then asked for a Manager and he said the same thing and offered my money back. I said that is great but I just waisted my afternoon for nothing and that the guy that initially looked at the truck should have said that they just can't install them. I got my money back and asked where my truck was and as I walked by the bays in the back to my truck the same guy that gave me my money shouted to the guys in the bay "hey boys I got rid of another one". I called to complain as they were short staffed and just didn't want to Install the tires. I will never go to any Costco again.”
“My Review for Keter Alto Cortina Vertical Shed-Half of the parts are missingThe product was delivered later than the original date. Then we discovered that half of the parts of shed were missing. Upon contacting Costco, we were informed that they are not certain where the parts could have gone or how they were misplaced and the only option we have to first to order the product again then physically return to Costco warehouse wasting an ample of time and money. Very unprofessional of all parties involved: Costco, Keter and UPS who originally delivered. Unprofessional customer service, lack of accountability for the product they sell.”
“I bought my tires at Costco when I had a membership. now that my membership has expired they will not rotate or Ballance my tires. I thought that was part of the purchase but they said it was part of being a costco member. it is way cheaper to get my tires someplace else then to have to purchase a Costco membership every year. the tire purchase is a scam and they don't tell people.”
“I asked Keith Mc what I could do to let Costco know what an excellent employee Costco has. He said that wasn't necessary, as long as I was satisfied with my purchase. Keith went way out of his way to make sure I got what I had come to Costco for, and would not let my search go unfulfilled. Thank you Keith and Costco.
A pleased customer,
Jim Janke”
“It is the best thing I love Costco and their return policy is amazing I bought a ps5 and I came 7 months later to return it and it was pretty bad but they returned it and returned all my money back it was amazing definitely recommend I since then only bug expensive things from Costco”
“I have generally had very positive experiences with Costco. But I am not happy that, in my view, they took advantage of my mother. She was checking out and she was yet again approached about upgrading her membership. The salesperson did not take no for an answer. She was pressured. She is 88 years old and was tired and gave in and said yes. $50.00 later and a long ride home, she realized she did not want the upgrade. When she called, she was told she had to be there in person to cancel the upgrade! I do not know if this is legal, but it sure is inconvenient! I called and got nowhere also. She's frustrated and I'm angry. I'll be surprised if this review is published.”
“Gilbert, AZ store… but it’s happening everywhere. I understand asking to see our membership card at the front door to enter a “members only” warehouse, but while waiting in line at self checkout to purchase two bags of trail mix - a whopping $24 purchase…. I was carded yet again. I had put my card away while we had eaten a bite at the food court, and had just switched phones so my membership wasn’t loaded onto the new phone. As I juggled the bags of trailmix, my water cup, and purse to fumble through my wallet for my membership card the Costco worker inched closer and closer to me staring as if to jump at the moment she could say “gotcha!”. Well, I did pull my card out finally and I did have some words for her. She went and tattled on me to the managers because two of them met me on the other side of self checkout. I discussed my displeasure about being ‘carded’ and they assured me they were asking everyone. I kindly told them that this particular employee had NOT asked a single customer in front of me or behind me for their membership cards. I had been targeted. The managers then let me know they are cracking down on this and gearing up because they are about to start checking memberships AS WE EXIT THE STORE! That’s right! Not only will they continue to check carts and receipts, but you will have to scan your membership card and YOUR PICTURE will show up in a monitor for everyone to see so that they can confirm it’s you! This is getting out of control Costco! We’ve been members for over 20 years and this is about as low as you can go. Don’t you make enough money as it is? We aren’t stealing product - we are buying your product! You are making more and more loyal customers rethink whether or not to renew when our memberships expire.”
“I want to write an excellent review to Jacob
He was running around the whole warehouse with me, helping to find out the item which was displayed that morning( Fair life chocolate protein shake). Eventually we found it and then he rang me up at the front end (customer service), so I wouldn’t have to wait in the line again. Thank you so much for the outstanding customer service !”
“I ordered a small freezer and never got it. There was a tracking number. The tracking number through UPS did not exist. We got notices that the packages was delivered two different times during two different months. It never arrived. I will never order from this company again. I never could find a number where they call or locate them. Without a doubt, I got scam”
“The general manager and manager as well as headquarters are so amazing and kind to fix the actions of some employees. Truly kind and professional. Thank you so much for being so reasonable and fixing any issues. Grateful.”
“Had a somewhat unpleasant experience at the Logan Costco. Was offered no solution. As I was walking out I decided I would ask one more time at a different counter person.
I explained the situation and Kris imminently offered solutions and found an answer for our problem. Even at the expense of going the extra mile for us. We think she’s awesome and grateful for her flipping out day from cloudy to sunshine.”
“They are constantly banned highly rated Instacart shoppers for no valid reason and members as well.
They are very rude to high level shoppers accusing them of fake accounts when they have been doing the job at the highest level for years.
Was shopping one of my hundreds of orders for a customer at the Strongsville, Ohio location snd was falsely accused by a chair I have never seen before (others there said he is a jerk) of having a fake account. While I was shocked I proved it was not fake. The manager was condescending and rude and called me “not Costco material”. Your members who rated me 97 5 -star reviews in a row disagree. Calling me the best they have ever had shop for them. I was banned from all Costco stores in the United States because he thinks I was not listening to him. I don’t need to agree with you. You’re not my boss and he did nothing about the ride cashier who multiple cashiers who witnessed it said he was rude to me as well sd the cashier assistant. The manager was some big muscle guy who judged me as a human being based on his employee falsely accusing me of having a fake account. I shop there all day for their customers and get one 5 star rating after the next and he didn’t like me so banned me for life from every Costco. This happens a lot I was told by instacart. They said how u professional they treat members and instacart shoppers. Apparently they ban people all the time. It was appalling and I work 17 hours a day and didn’t deserve this. They did not hold their ride cashier accountable at all. Just me for standing up for my valid and highly rated account. They truly believe they have this power to destroy income for others who don’t fall in like with their false accusations. They are incompetent and legal action is being taken. They ban multiple innocent people.”
“I went to Costco, found some glasses frames I liked. Went to pay. One person was helping a man with a million idiotic questions, many of which he kept rephrasing. I waited about ten minutes. Then I went up front to try to pay for them. I couldn’t pay up front. So back to optical. The jerk was still there, now looking at charts and calling his wife to consult while the optical lady waited patiently. While I was gone another person joined the line. Ahead of me.
Anyway, finally, after about another ten minutes one of the other optical people finished with her customer and started to help the woman in front of me who needed her glasses adjusted. I was seeing hope, because the other guy was still asking questions. Finally someone else joined the team and took my money.
I really like the frames or I would have left. The woman helping Mr. Super inconsiderate and annoying deserves sainthood.
I give them five stars because what happened to me was not the fault of the employees. One person who was not even purchasing glasses tied up one employee completely for at least the half hour I waited and probably for another hour.”
“Placed online flower order to be delivered 4/12 for a 4/14 birthday of an 89 year old relative. Order was placed 2 weeks prior to asked for delivery date. Flowers never made delivery. Costco to replace with delivery of 4/17. Really Costco? Can't you do better?”
“My name is João Batista Cunha de Araújo, 55 years old, M.D. Plastic Surgeon, and a Costco member for over 10 years.
On April 11th, 2024, around 5:30 pm, my girlfriend Amanda Ungaro and I went to the Costco store located in North Miami to do some grocery shopping along with my little service dog which was in my arms. At the entrance of the store, we were rudely approached by an employee asking for what purpose my service dog was there. What was the need, that is, what illness or problem I have that justified a service dog.
The employee's name is Polina, who continued to be rude and prevented us from entering the store until a supervisor came to question us. We waited until two employees, said to be supervisors, arrived and continued to insist in a disrespectful way, implying that we were lying about the need for my little service dog.
While these impolite and disrespectful inquiries were occurring about my need for such a service dog, the aforementioned employee, Polina, allowed other people’s dogs to walk in, thus demonstrating a lack of judgement and disregard for my needs. In this way, we had no choice but to call the police!
We waited for the police officers to arrive, but they could do nothing because the employees told their own version, in which we had not cooperated with the answers that would be necessary to authorize our entry!
As if such humiliation and disregard for my illness were not enough, the same employees whose names are César (agm) and José (manager) prevented us from making purchases on that day and in a sarcastic way, as if they were doing us a favor, told us that they would keep my membership active.
I have been a Costco customer for over ten years and which I refer it to as a great shopping option to friends and acquaintances. Just check and confirm for how long I’ve been consuming at this store.
These employees decry the image and respect I have for this company.
I would like to add that my service dog, that has all the documentation and training to be a service dog, has been to this same store countless times, and routinely travels with me all over the world. It is a trained dog for this qualification.
I have a psychiatric disorder condition caused by gun violence and use medications to control post-traumatic anxiety and depression.
In situations where it is not obvious that the dog is a service animal, staff may ask only two specific questions: (1) is the dog a service animal required because of a disability? and (2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform?
Without anything else to say and after much emotional and physical exhaustion, we turned our backs and left the venue humiliated by the negligence that had occurred.
Be reminded that ‘service dog law’ is a federal law that protects my rights.
Under Florida law and the federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), people with disabilities may bring their service animals to all "public accommodations," such as restaurants, museums, hotels, and stores. These laws also require those who operate transportation services to allow service animals.
I request reparation, that is, an apology for these unprofessional and unprepared employees who do not enhance the name of this great company.
Hoping to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
João Batista Cunha de Araújo”
