“I used to have an amazing life and credit score but that changed last year when I couldn't pay at once, the entire balance of my accumulated medical bill. “I got scammed of $47k on a bitcoin investment platform. It turned out the platform operated as a Ponzi scheme. I reported to the authorities and was made to write a series of statements which they didn't follow through, hence delaying the investigation. “I have been making regular payments on a loan that was opened in January 2021, but my lender did not report my account to the credit bureaus until September same year. When this account popped up on my credit report, it showed that I had only made two payments even though I had not missed a single payment. “I had a default judgment against me back in 2012 and recently I received a summons for the judgment (it was still within statute of limitations). I was willing to settle it. It was nowhere to be found on my credit report until recently when it appeared on my report again because I settled with the debt collector. It affected my report and lowered my scores. “I thought I had auto pay on just about everything. I was wrong and I didn't have a seldom used Visa card rack up 20 dollars in late fees from a 200 dollar balance. I can understand the hit to my credit of 25 points. What I couldn't fathom was why I had a low 700 score before that. Both of my houses were paid for and I had no loans. Everything was paid. I auto pay AMEX every month the full amount. Thank you 'Cyberdon AT techie DOT com' for helping me curtail the hitch and eventually restoring my credit to high 800 across all bureaus.”
