“Shocking used for months sold lots of item s and sent an item the buyer 3 wks later reckons it doesn’t work probably broke it and without messaging me depop refunding the scammer disgusting no sellers protection do not use and am taking them to the financial ombudsman”

“Very bad for selling!!! They remove listings for no reason - the children can understand that my items are genuine (serial numbers or certificate) but Depop team doesn't think so... At the same time, you can find many fake listings - Lady Dior for 120 or Dior Saddle bag for 160(???) and they don't remove them! Why??? Why for my GENUINE items is not possible, for ather people with VISIBLE FAKE ITEMS it's possible?? This is a double standard. I am a good buyer and good seller but definitely they will loose me as a customer. They forced 2 of my favorite sellers to don't use the site anymore! I am thinking to do the same. VERY, VERY DISAPPOINTED!”

“Ordered, paid 17 days ago. Got an email to say item 'shipped' 11 days ago. Since then nothing but silence. It was a cheap little item luckily. But never again - Depop not for me I'm afraid.”

“Do not use this company. Bought a coat with a hole in - described as overall good condition. I do not think good condition means a hole. Depop obviously does think a hole is good condition as they would not refund and were not interested. Have read so many bad reviews - wish I had seen the reviews before making a purchase. So I add my review to warn others not to use this company.”

“They closed my account without any warning for a silly reason. I have nearly 1000 positive feedbacks on other platforms and very happy with their service I get but depop is just a scam! Avoid selling and buying. Depop has the most fake items compare to other platforms!!!”

“0 stars. SCAM, DON'T TAKE THE RISK. SELLER & BUYER BEWARE!!! After making a simple mistake in listing description, my account just disappeared and I got the shock of my life to see it was immediately and permanently closed, with NO Warning, after I'd just bought 2 items on it. I pleaded my case and begged for them to reactivate my account. They had the nerve to say: "I posed a threat". Why because I made a mistake? I have a clean Police record and am an honest, reputable seller, proven by my 100 percent seller ratings on THREE platforms: Ebay, Facebook AND Gumtree. My well written Ads and professional quality photos PROVE my professional sales experience. Why didn't Depop simply alert me and issue a warning for my mistake and just remove the incorrect listing, instead of taking the EXTREME , HARSH and unnecessary measure of PERMANENTLY closing my account and me losing all my items that I worked SO HARD to create for the last 3 months, so my daughter and I can eat? I'm a single Mother and need to sell my clothes and possessions to survive. WHY didn't Depop warn me first and simply remove the incorrect content and temporarily disable account, to ALLOW me the chance to fix it? Depop contradicted it's OWN terms below: 1. immediate, temporary or permanent withdrawal 2. immediate, temporary or permanent removal of any User Content 3. issuing of a warning to you. Don't trust them, I did and got burned. Explains all the bad reviews and 1 star trust rating. My items were the best quality on there. Most of the clothes are crappy old junk. Congrats Depop, you've lost ANOTHER customer and earned ANOTHER terrible review. Dishonest SCAM company that should be SHUT DOWN.”

“Do not sell with depop! they can get your account blocked with their beliefs tbat the item could be fake! the thing is if the person received it. depop keeps the money for 10 days. if they block your account they will not give you back your money! it is so illegal to keep your money after you have only 5 stars reviewed by customers ! they have to give me over a 100 £ !! and they dont want to !!!! their website must be taken down !!”

“They will allow drop shipping, replica items, misused tags, and stock photos across the entire platform, but if you end up being an unlucky seller your account will be deleted with no previous warning and they will not release any of your money and claim that it's for security reasons. I sold for three years and never had an issue, they claimed my deactivation for was one reason and then changed the reason mid email chain. Their customer support will only give you vague, copy & paste answers with little to no help or information. I had over $400 waiting to be deposited in their Depop Payments and they said they will not be releasing any of it. A COMPLETE SCAM.”

“Worst site for selling! Closed my account. Stated I used copyright photos. All pics were taken by me, on my mannequin, in my home. No copied pics from the web. None. But try telling this to the no-help-rep that takes days to reply. First the listing that you worked hard to create is removed. Then you try and try to get an answer from them. Tell them to 'put the listing back up'. They close your account. Had over 50 items. A lot of work went into this. Worst Company I have sold on!!!! I sell on ebay, Etsy, Posh. Selling for years!!!!! Depop is the WORST!”

“Do not use Depop. They don’t value protecting their customers at all. Several years ago I bought items from a seller who misrepresented everything. The worst was a pair of pants her listing claimed were a size 12. They were in fact a size 0. When I contacted her about the issue she was like “oh well too bad…you can just re-sell them to someone else.” So I left a negative review. She then started threatening me…which was scary because we lived in the same city then and she had my address. She started demanding I take down the negative review. After that I stopped buying anything on Depop. Fast- forward to almost a year later, and I get a message from Depop threatening to close my account. She had flagged my review as “fraudulent”. I explained the issue to Depop…they didn’t really care. I told them I wanted my account deleted with immediate effect.”

“I have no idea how this place is getting away with closing people's accounts and not transferring their balance to their PayPal account. Instead, depop steals the money thr seller earned. They don't have evidence you did anything wrong to have your account closed they just do it out of the blue.”

“I was a seller on Depop for just over a year with a good reputation, good reviews and zero issues. On Tuesday December 27, I posted a replica (fake) skull head with mounted hardware included on the back. I stated in the title and multiple times in the listing that it was, indeed, not real. The listing was public for three days. On Friday December 30th, I received an email from Depop stating that the item had been removed per their “Prohibited and Restricted Items” and “infringement on their rules”. Within just two minutes I received another email stating that my account had now been permanently banned. I was never given a chance to make it right, if there was a problem or threat. The only contact I had was through email, and I was passed around to about 4 or 5 different customer service individuals who call themselves “Team Depop”. Their customer service is appalling. None of them could even provide a category that the item fell under, as I was told different things. Per their policy, Depop states that they “will work with a user to rectify a situation”, but I was never given that chance. They made an assumption which was a mistake, and I am now no longer able to even get on the app or website. They told me to “consider myself permanently banned”, and “any new accounts made will also be banned and reported”. On top of the item that was removed, they eventually told me that I posed a threat to the Depop community. Their allegations are preposterous and demeaning, as I did nothing wrong. Defamation aside, the biggest issue and my reason for going public is because I sold two items on the platform to one buyer the week of Christmas. Depop was, and still is, refusing to release those funds made. I have those emails, the screenshots from the Depop communication as well as my information and details on the listing/item in question. I also have the information and shipping information from the last sale that Depop is refusing to release the funds from. I have since posted videos on social media and YouTube calling this for what it is. NO business has ANY right to withhold funds that are yours. I am willing to do all that I can to be justified and to, most importantly, receive the funds that are mine. I don’t know, legally, how they are able to do this as I am not sure what happens to funds sitting idle. They have since ceased all communication with me. If you use or sell on this platform, I would highly recommend shutting it down because this ludicrous situation could happen to you. I will execute all of my avenues to get what is owed to me.”

“Depop is the worst site. Support is either bots or just people that just don't care. Listings removed. You take time to create a listing and it's taken down for ridiculous reasons like 'stock' pics, copyright issues. Crazy - customer service is close to non existent. And watch your $$$. I sell on 3 other sites and ship all over the world. Unfortunately Etsy is now just as bad with customer service as depop, 'same' run-around.”

“DO NOT USE DEPOP!!! My item got lost using their postal service and they won't refund the amount. Their customer service is atrocious and as they retain your funds until they feel like paying out, there's nothing you can do. USE EBAY INSTEAD”

“I am absolutely furious. I have used depop for over a year now. At the start It was going ok. Now in the last 6 months they keep removing my items. Just last week I had a buyer who kept messaging me to know where I lived so they can come and collect a brand new eyeshadow palette off me, but I kept replying to the buyer saying I only sell in the app I am not going to say where I live but they kept messaging me so I informed depop. Instead depop did not do anything to the buyer and instead they removed my item and sent me a warning about asking buyers to purchase outside the app even though I provided them proof of the message. When I contacted depop about this they said it was an error on the system & restored my item. Bare in mind over the last few months they removed more of my items that they did no restore in the months before even though I contacted them providing proof and saying none of my items went against their prohibited items but they do not respond. Now today I wake up and see my heels for no reason have been removed apparently cause they have been worn, since when has shoes being worn once been an issue? I've sold before shoes on there but for some reason this time its a hygiene problem?. These heels have been listed for ages as well as my other items that they removed over the last few months.None of my items went against their policies. And now today they sent me "final reminder before they suspend my account " because apparently I am selling outside the app. I've made no sales within the last couple of month so I am fuming why they randomly decide to say this. Absolutely unacceptable they don't even review reports properly. They don't even check the items properly or why would they just slap you with random reports nearly every other month. 1 day with a so called prohibited item report, another day with an out of app payment for a buyer report, another day with a used item report. Ridiculous To the point now they are saying to me this is my final chance. Well I give up and deleting my account before they decide to suspend for removing another item for absolutely no reason. Also the fees are so bloody high, they say 10% but it's absolute bull how they charge. Awful experience.!”

“Depop are a bunch of scam artists and that is being kind. I think they visit Primary Schools and employ people with similar credentials and you are lucky to speak to somebody that has year 6. Sold a product, sent proof of postage and delivery, allowed the person to set up 2 cases and then took the money out of my account even though they sent me an email saying that I needed to do nothing further and all was in my favour. It is a disgraceful Company which is run incredibly badly. What is the point in selling your products and them then stealing you money. NONE”
