“It is rare that you call in for customer service and you get the feeling the person on the other end of the phone is committing fraud. But that's exactly how I felt dealing with eBay customer service. In order to get your promised refund, eBay customer service asks to log into your phone and essentially take control of it. In my case, they had me open a Venmo Credit Card, a Crypto.com account, a Strike.com account, and an Uphold account. Then they had me log into my bank account and they tried to withdraw money from my account, all in the name of "verifying" my account! All the while, they are seeing all my personal information, passwords, etc. My bank kept telling me not to do business with eBay's customer service. My bank kept telling me it sounded too fishy. But I did anyway in hopes of getting my refund. (Which never happened, by the way.) After days, weeks, then months of working with them, I finally just gave up. Do yourself a favor and just kiss your refund goodbye- it is too much work and too much hassle to even get a cent back from eBay. Just save yourself the headache and eat your refund. I wish I had done that two months ago instead of participating in the three-ringed circus that is eBay customer service.”

“Fraudsters are running amuck on eBay. I was scammed. The seller sent me a tracking number that was a package to someone else in a different location. When the package didn’t arrive I notified eBay and they said it was delivered. I told them it wasn’t and we went back and forth multiple times. Hey refuse to do anything to help or refund my money. Now I’m having to dispute it with my bank. eBay’s customer service is garbage. They will do nothing in your interest to help you. I will never do business with eBay again.”

“I have 2 complaints about Ebay Have phoned several times and got nowhere 1 a service advisor called Ariel was supposed to ring me about a problem with eBay not updating listings I had an offer of 80% off fees and I couldn’t list on Friday or Saturday This service advisor said he would make sure I didn’t lose out on the 80% off, but I’m still waiting for the call 2. I listed a Dior charm which eBay removed saying it was counterfeit which it wasn’t They didn’t contact me just high handedly removed the listing It has to be flagged to some team to investigate which will take 24-48 hours The 80% off fees ends tomorrow Customer service is totally useless All you get is sorry If they don’t sort these issues out I will be leaving eBay and selling elsewhere”

“I went out of my way to perfectly box/ bubble wrap a doll and sent it out the same day it was sold only to get a “NEGATIVE REVIEW “ from the buyer because he thought I charged too much for shipping. I charged exactly what eBay charged me! EBay refused to remove the NEGATIVE rating because this keeps it “safe”, they claim. I’m not paying eBay to allow buyers to unfairly give me a negative rating especially when I don’t charge for handling/ packaging and sell the new in box item /NRFB item for less than I pay . I go way out of my way for a buyer and end up with a “NEGATIVE RATING “!!!”

“Just tried to log onto my business ebay account and had to go through a verification process. It required an actual phone call to ebay because the verification process was trying to text to a landline. After trying to understand a person with an extremely difficult dialect to understand, multiple times repeating myself, and asking her to repeat herself...I was told the account could not be verified because I was deceased. WTF! I'll never buy from ebay again and I recommend no one else does either. As a small business owner I usually hope for the best for other businesses. But in this case, I hope they go out of business. The sooner the better.”

“Utter disgrace paid for 2 day postage, 2 weeks later I still don’t have it, at least I only have to wait up to 45 days for a possible refund. 15 year ebayer, NEVER AGAIN DISGUSTING”

“eBay and UKDEALS, a seller on eBay are criminals. I ordered three products from UKDeals on eBay. They claimed the carrier could not find my address! Amazon delivers to my doorstep a few times a week, UPS, FEDEX, USPS somehow can locate me, but UKDeals says they couldn't locate my address? As a result they refunded one of the three orders. They refunded the one for $25 and kept my money for the one that was greater than $50. I escalated this at eBay and within an hour eBay found for the Seller with absolutely NO explanation at all. WHY, because eBay makes a lot more money from UKDeals than it does from me! BOYCOTT eBAY until they are reminded that they are there for the consumer and their Buyers Guarantee is a complete lie until they remember who is ultimately funding their vacation homes!”

“Horrible place to sell. They hold your funds for days. They act like your parents when stuff goes wrong. They charged me 13 cents when I took auction down six hours in because I made an error? Are you kidding me? 13 lousy cents you penny pinching crooks . I just sold 1400.00 item and have not rec funds yet 3 days already they hold YOUR money”

“I had a high dollar putter I wanted to sell. After not selling at a fixed price, even with "Offers" available I started an auction. I started at one cent but put a $600.00 reserve. When I posted it the $600.00 reserve was very visible next to the bid box. I felt it might scare people away so I tried to edit this out. In the past I could edit the auction after it started. I had to end that auction so it was there for only a few minutes. I re-did the auction without the reserve. eBay charged me $55.00 for the reserve so I called them. They promised not to post that but the next day they did! Then, after the auction ended they charged me another $60.00 for unexplained costs??? That's a total of over $115.00! I tried to close my account but eBay keeps open for as long as they want. Warning, stay away from eBay.”

“Orderered 2 boxes Yankee candle refills. Should have been 2x 2 bottles . I box with 2 bottles in it . Normally in shops 1 box just under £7 with 2 refills . Paid £12.70 for 1 box .Paid double the price . Won’t use E Bay again . Total rip off .”

“eBay does not back up sellers Had a buyer buy a bike for 1700.00 Then buyer said it was too small and that he’d resell it off I could not refund. I have a no return policy. So a day later the buyer made up a story and requested a refund. eBay did not back me up at all. On top of that the buyer sent the bike back with damage to the frame which dropped the value from 400-500.00 All I got back was 100.00 deducted off the refund. eBay case reviewers are not trained to see the real picture.”

“EBAY AND FRAUDULENT THEIVES - Save yourself some stress and sell online elsewhere Ebay are thieves and fraudulent. I was clearing out some items, and decided to sell on Ebay. All was going well but then Ebay put a hold on my account pending verifying identity. Fine I thought, I hadn't sold hardly anything for years then I list 40+ items. So, I send my driving license and bank statement with both name and address clearly confirmed. Ebay then suspend account, provide no reason or offer to speak. But confirm they will send funds in a couple of months, ok all very strange and unprofessional but ok I'd sold most of the stuff I didn't want anyway, so just agree never to use Ebay again as their so weird and clandestine. However, when I chase this they say they will keep the funds. They mention regulations but refuse to explain what regulations allow them to provide service to sell items online and keep the money themselves. They refuse any attempt to discuss or explain what the issue is, they go completely dark and are unwilling to address their unfounded concerns. Its August 2022, of the unwanted items sold, it raised £580 which Ebay state they are keeping and I can do absolutely nothing at all about it! Just speechless. Who would have thought this was the behaviour of a big listed company. Sell elsewhere.”

“For some reason my account has been suspended and Ebay refuses to tell me why. I have only purchased a few items from this site. I wonder how many other accounts have been suspended for no reason. This company definitely does not value their customers. Do not waste your time with Ebay.”
