Hi, I was very happy with the advisor that we spoke to regarding the upgrade of our broadband package but after upgrading to the extra package I then ran out of data allowance for watching streaming video and any downloads. I feel that designating the first 30 gig of our allowance to these things is a disgrace considering how much the monthly cost is! I am very disappointed with tooway for this as I have no mobile reception at my home I use instant messaging which no longer worked. I hope at some point the conditions with this package will be looked into and changes will be made. That is my only disappointment but in my opinion a very bad one. Regards. Matt Munro

Hi Matt. Thanks for taking the time to respond to our survey. A full explanation of our Tooway Extra tariff is available on our website. I can assure you though that we do pass all feedback from our customers to the satellite providers to improve our tariffs. Kind Regards The Europasat Team

Generally great when not being throttled. Internet access was virtually non existent for the last 6/7 hours every day. Not good enough for long term use.

Hi Hugo. Thanks for taking the time to respond to our survey. The speeds you are receiving could be due to the amount of people on the network at any given time as this is a shared network and for this reason, we cannot guarantee any kind of headline speeds. This is also why your speeds may be lower during the late afternoon till late at night simply due to the amount of people using the bandwidth. If you have particular concerns, can we ask that you call our Technical Team when you are experiencing the particularly slow speeds and they can investigate for you. Kind regards The Europasat Team

A few weeks ago I made a complaint and, after a reminder (you claim to respond within 24 hours; that has never been the case, and I doubt I would have had any response without the reminder) received an unsatisfactory reply that had failed to understand the main gist of my complaint - which was, and is, that it is irritating to receive three emails from you every month - 2nd an invoice, 9th a reminder, 16th receipt - for an absolutely straightforward Direct Debit payment. Normal companies just send a receipt. My comment was with the system as a whole; absurd and pedantic over-emphasis on communication. The receipt is all that is necessary.

Incredibly slow speeds from their TooWay. I'd avoid at all costs. Read the reviews on Think Broadband about TooWay before signing up.

Hi Andrew Thanks for taking the time to respond to our survey. We cannot see a recent speed test performed on your system which has been with a computer connected to the Tooway Modem. Please can you perform our test at http://speedprobe.skylogicnet.com on a computer with a direct connection to the modem. We will be able to analyse your situation further when these tests have been performed. Kind regards The Europasat Team

Before I installed a satellite system I was using Orange via a phone line. Being at the end of a 6km line I found the performance and reliability very poor, in fact during the school holidays 2014, I found it almost impossible to use the Internet at all. Since my installation I have been disappointed with the performance of the Internet. Most of the time the connection is slow to very slow, inferior to my previous server. At no point has it ever been better. I am also astonished to discover that even in a gentle rain I loose complete contact. Either the WWW is slowing down to the point of becoming useless or something else is going on to encourage people to buy faster systems ( not an option for me in France ) The fact that I can use up my prepaid quota on my iPad within 2 weeks while hardly using it leaves me unhappy.

I live in a 'notspot' in Suffolk and so the only realistic way I am able to access the internet is via satellite. I have been using Europasat for 4 years and am very pleased with the service they give, as it is very reliable and gives much better speeds than most areas in rural Suffolk can access. Even when so-called superfast broadband via the landline is rolled out here, the speeds I currently get are better than those being predicted. Their technical team has always been able to answer questions and resolve any issues very quickly.

I use this in France for three spells of five weeks in a year. The set up cost is quite high but would be OK if there was a better tarif for users like me. The £7 for 1gb(?) is high and does not seem to last long. I consider myself a light user. It is a bit of a fag phoning up each time for an additional slug and one does not know how much is used until it runs out. Sods law says that will always be on a Friday night. Difficult to manage. Otherwise it woks well.

Massive speed fluctuations, sometimes no connection, poor customer support after extensive speed tests with a reply of 'thats the way satellite broadband works", no follow-up to see how we are getting on. Speed fluctuations of 10% - 100% speeds, not acceptable in my opinion

We had a lot of problems receiving a satisfactory signal. Eventually we purchased our own router from the UK and with the help of my son-in-law, a computer professional, we started receiving a good signal. We were sold and paid extra for an unrestricted service but in fact it is limited and restricted. We only have so many download hours per month and when that is used up it is not possible to download between 17h00 and 23h00. Although we were told that we could always browse the internet at this peak time, we find that this is often not possible when our quota is used up. I would only recommend this service if you are in a remote area and no satisfactory alternative is available.

I think you should be more generous in the amount of user time for the amount of money we pay each month. You email me to tell me I have already used up 76% of the amount of online time and I have no proof of this whatsoever. Other companies, used by my friends on the mainland have no restriction on the amount of time their customers can be on line. Please consider offering unlimited use for a reasonable price. You must be making enough money already.

Hi Pauline. Thanks for taking the time to respond to our survey. We are really pleased that you are happy with your satellite broadband system. Satellite will be more expensive that standard ADSL broadband due to the amount of funding that has been ploughed into the new Technology. However, we are hoping that this will reduce as the option becomes more 'mainstream'. We do not offer a truly unlimited data tariff. Kind Regards The Europasat Team

When I first installed the satellite system I was very pleased with performance with regular download speeds above 18 Mbsps, after about 6-8 months download speeds dropped dramatically sometimes as low as 2-3Mbsps. I have spoken to John Sidwell several times and complained to head office but they can only give me the standard industry excuses. Overall it works quite well it is just the speeds that let it down and the price is astronomical (please excuse the pun). Regards, Edward Skipper

To expensive and rigid. Should be possible to have and use the net when needed. Now you have to pay even if not used for months.

A very expensive way to obtain broadband internet connection, however where I reside there is no other viable alternative , at this time . An excellent provider ,I have experienced no problems since I had it installed , customer service , the little I have used them , appears to be on the ball . Only downside....THE COST . Would have been a 5 star rating if not for the cost .

About 3 months ago I purchased a self install package for my caravan. The Europasat website is very comprehensive and answers all the questions I needed to ask to determine the right package for my needs. The Europasat salesman was very informative and helpful over the phone and the buying transaction was simple. As long as your not frightened by a little DIY this is easy to install. The supplied router sends out a signal to enable you to set the dish up and the installation video is easy to follow. I bought an additional wireless modem to enable any device to be used in the caravan. You can name the network to suit yourself and set a visitors password so your not giving out your personal password. I chose the £20 per month 5Gb package download package. I would recommend this to start with as you can always upgrade later if it doesn't suit your needs. I am at my caravan most weekend throughout the year and so far it has delivered my needs for normal everyday usage. When I first set it up, it seemed to use half of my monthly 5Gb data straight away. I raised a query ticket with Europasat and they told me it may have been some sort of update. They did say they would contact the service provider and send me a more detailed explanation but I haven't received this as yet. In the new year I will monitor my data usage myself and compare it with the Europasat stated usage for my account to see if it matches up. I am sure it will, but I would just do this to satisfy my own curiosity. Also I have had quite a few enquiries from other caravan owners as to the system performance with a view to fitting a system for themselves (Some of them will want me to do it for them ha ha)

With no option for a usable, speedy broadband BT service, we arranged for a satellite system to be installed. At the time I queried the ongoing monthly price of £25 (inc vat) and was assured prices 'can only go down'. That has proved to be NOT the case and service charge is still hefty at the same £25. To be fair, it has been largely glitch-free apart from some early weird happenings and messages threatening a slowed-down service. Seems 100% now, EXCEPT for excessive cost. There is no apparent broadband alternative in rural Wales, so one has to accept the costs. BT was down as slow as 'one' thingy, which is slower than carrier pigeon. Works well enough, and if no other outfit can beat this company on price or quality, I'm stuck with them.

Having got fed up with paying for broadband speed internet access and only getting dial up speed due to VERY old cables to where we are in south west France we decided that satellite was the way to go. Excellent service from BigDishSat over the telephone and quick delivery of the equipment. Over the 21 months we have been using the service we have only had two (short, less than a couple of hours or so) periods of no access even in very adverse weather conditions. English speaking help line and when a part of the system went wrong speedy service for replacement. No buffering of signal for films etc and we now have access to UK based catch-up tv type web sites. I would not hesitate to recommend Europasat.

Hi Alan. Thanks for taking the time to respond to our survey. We are really pleased that you are happy with your satellite broadband system. As with mobile phones, unused data cannot be rolled over to the next month as the satellite engineers need to know how much available capacity they have at any one time.
