Service is very good and reliable. Provides much faster internet access than is available from local wired connections, although the transmission lag can be noticeable. The speed boost more than compensates for this and not really an issue when streaming. The only downside - and the reason for four rather than five stars - is that finding local installers can be difficult. Because of our location and planning restrictions none of the standard install options worked for us, so we needed the self-install option. You'll need to make sure that you've identified a good, knowledgeable local installer before proceeding. Most are 'Sky' only and this can faze the majority.

Expensive, minimal data allowance, slow, nearly stops between 7-10pm, and you're stuck with it for 2 years.

Hi Martin Thanks for taking the time to respond to our survey. We cannot see a recent speed test performed on your system which has been with a computer connected to the Tooway Modem. Please can you perform our test at http://speedprobe.skylogicnet.com on a computer with a direct connection to the modem. we will be able to analyse your situation further when these tests have been performed. I ordered the Tooway system but after installation I realised I wasn't able to open ports which rendered my security cameras useless. In the two years that I have had the system it has got progressively slower

After some delay when I just could not get hold of Europasat on the phone to tell them my broadband connection had totally failed, I did complain heartily using my wife's laptop. The help I then received from Steve and his troops could not have been better. I now believe that poor installation (by a contractor since fired) and some fine aligning of internal hubs was to blame. Our old house is admittedly tricky to cater for in matters electrical, but as I say, the service from Europasat was first-rate and everything is now working better than ever. Many thanks. Having had EuropaSat for 3 years so we feel that we have not bought the product recently, we also feel the product could be cheaper for customers who are using the product over a good long period of time and are loyal customers. D Harrison

Satellite will be more expensive that standard ADSL broadband due to the amount of funding that has been ploughed into the new Technology. until november i have been perfectly satisfied with your europasat service & reliability, however, i am currently experiencing a problem regarding rapidly disappearing bandwidth. in mid-november i was surprised to discover that i had suddenly used up ALL of my monthly 20 GB bandwidth allocation, even though my typical online behavior had not changed & no other person has received my network key. i needed to purchase 10GPS extra top op to stay online the month which also quickly disappeared & was very slow. on december 4th my 20 GB was reloaded & now on december 10th you wrote to warn me that 51% had already been used up ! so now i am desperate & wondering what i am doing differently than before to use up my bandwidth so quickly ? i never stream at all or download during the day --always waiting until after 23:00 to watch youtubes & send off photos...until november, this has been the perfect way to end each month without depleting my 20 GB--what could possibly be changed now & how can i remedy this situation ? thank you for your reply, victoria ratledge

Overated does not give consistat service other by day or after 22.30 system users are throtled back in parular those who use the premium service with unlimited data seem to be the wrst affected. A more reliable method is to use a simple 3G phone with unlmited data or mobile hotspot. fast no throttling.

The speeds you are receiving could be due to the amount of people on the network at any given time as this is a shared network and for this reason, we cannot guarantee any kind of headline speeds. This is also why your speeds may be lower during the late afternoon till late at night simply due to the amount of people using the bandwidth. Please also be aware that the services is an up-to service which means the 20MB/s is not a guaranteed speed. The system was easy to install and set up which is always a bonus. In operation there is a lag between sending a request and the data starting to flow. It is slight but noticable. It can be affected by weather and sometimes the modem locks up, requiring a reset but this is easily done and having spoken to people using a land-line connection, they experience the same problems. Overall we are very pleased with Europasat, backup has been good for the last three years and the cost the service has gone down as the data allowance has gone up. We have recommended the system to others and no one has come back with any complaints

having used the Tooway max facility in the past, we downgraded as we were not using the full package, but with recent sky changes to broadband usage we required to revert back to the unlimited package, as sky record was sucking up our full facility, However when we tried to revert back, we were now told this was unavailable. yet the unlimited product is still available in the wider Eurosat group, but we require to rent a new set of equipment under a 2 year contract to receive the same service we were receiving after having spent nearly 600 pounds on buying the equipment on 18 months ago. we are now shopping around for alternative providers of this facility. sorry but i would not recommend this service

The data allowance is much to low. We are on the 20 GB (L?) package, but alas the new 25 GB package has the free download/etc. only from 0:00-6:00, while our package has it from 23:00 to 07:00! I had hoped for Tooway/Europasat to be more generous and give at least 22:00-8:00 OR EVEN BETTER 20:00-8:00 without accounting? But alas, new offers seem even more worse? Though I can understand the shared nature of the SAT connection, those limits seem in 2014 pretty ridiculous, especially when someone in your family is heavily using youtube and alike. Volume boosters are much to expensive, more like a rip off and no alternative! Sorry, but it seems Tooway/Europasat takes full advantage of people who have no other choice then SAT Internet, in order to rip them off, instead off being more generous and attracting more customers, which might be in the long run better for the company revenues? OK, in our failure by design monetary system this is of course not the goal! ;-( Best regards in the hope for a better future regarding the download limits! Although the reception and speed are very good, I (along with others) find it very hard to believe 10Gb is 10 Gb as it would be gone in one day if I didn't switch the router off for most of the day when my family of 4 visit. It uses 4Gb just to update my Garmin Sat Maps.

Not totally happy with the product after more than a year of usage - I often find that the download speeds aren't as advertised.

The process of placing order for equipment, installation, set-up and initial connection was very smooth and no real problems. The service has proven reliable with the odd very brief outage. The recent attack on the main Italian site was unfortunate and I hope that more security has been put in place. The inevitable latency of a satellite system/service may pose some problems in the future and should be kept to an absolute theoretical minimum. A bonus scheme whereby existing customers are awarded more download bandwidth as reward for loyalty over time up to a max of say 40 Gb could be considered to increase following. F. Guerrini
