I needed to cancel my hotel reservation because firstly I reserved a room with a bathtub which i need for a disability i have and they changed it to a room without a bathtub and then after that my flight was cancelled by the airline so i couldn't stay at the hotel anyway. expedia kept giving me the runaround about the refund. they say it's up to the hotel to approve but i contacted the hotel weeks ago and their third party department said they approved the refund and contacted expedia to process it but that expedia would not reply to them and yet when i contacted expedia they kept claiming they never got any messages from the hotel despite all evidence to the contrary, multiple emails from the hotel department with contact info and everything. one day at 1 am i got another email from expedia again falsely claiming they didn't get the information from the hotel in order to refund it but that they would contact me in 8 hours at the latest with an update, but when i reminded them i had told them many times that the hotel did approve the refund and provided the emails proving it, they simply never replied, even 8 DAYS after they said they would. I had to dispute the charge with my card since expedia completely stopped acting in good faith and stopped all communication past their own deadline they set and wouldn't refund my reservation despite their own requirements they set being met. then the real kicker, after my dispute was of course decided in my favor, I finally got a response about my refund from expedia which just said "Thank you for contacting Expedia with regards on your refund request with Bellagio. Due to your dispute on your bank we highly request you to contact your bank directly for your refund request." wow! i never heard such a thing! they just want customers to file disputes rather than they refunding it themselves! I'm guessing the company puts punitive action against the customer service agents when they process refunds, even if those refunds are legally required or meet expedia's own conditions for refund!! this should not be. they need to get their house in order! until then, do not book with them! even if the prices are cheaper, it's not worth it, especially if you need to get your refund in a timely manner, because they will literally make you dispute it with your card rather than process it themselves!!

They refused to refund my 500 hundred dollar deposit, my bank is still working to get it back please avoid them at all cost.

Really don't know where to start with Expedia, these guys are a terrible Business with little to no 'Genuine' interest in customer service or empathy. The back end of 2021 we had a really nice place booked for weekend but sadly caught covid. Being honest and genuine people, we contacted the hotel in question and Expedia to advise them of our condition. Expedia initially recommended a refund or amendment, but as we really wanted to go we opted for an amendment.... this is where is started and continued to go terribly wrong. Put into perspective, have 16 contact periods between December and March to try and get an amendment. The hotel in question was pitiful, and a second review will follow. But Expedia were just not good enough! I am out of pocket with absolutely no contact whatsoever. Will be reporting this to consumer affairs. The most laughable part to this, is their affiliation with feefo to highlight 'genuine reviews'... these are about as Genuine as Vladimir Putin!!!

Please nobody use Expedia, your money is not safe with them! After my flights to New Zealand were cancelled due to covid the only option I was given was airline credit but Expedia neglected to inform me that the credit would expire. The worst part is even if they had told me it wouldn't have mattered as the NZ borders were closed well beyond the expiration date. Now they refuse to refund me! Scammers and thieves. DO NOT USE EXPEDIA

I paid for insurance for my flight, and then it was cancelled. I then went into Expedia's chat, where it took a full HOUR to tell me they need to call me. I have now been on the phone with another person for 20 minutes, who just told me she has to put me on hold. I have a work call in 10 minutes that I cannot miss, and the Expedia team has told me they cannot call me back once they have found a solution - I can only hold or hang up and start all over again. EXPEDIA INSURANCE IS CLEARLY A SCAM.

Booked a trip to London in November 2020 and had to cancel due to Covid but I was assured by Expedia customer service that I would get flight credits but I had a year to use them. They don’t tell you that it’s a year from the original purchase date so I only had 4 months to use them. Now came the worst part… trying to book a trip using those flight credit’s! I spent literally hours on the phone over three days trying get my trip booked. Expedia would tell me to call American Airlines and they would tell me to call Expedia. Expedia wanted to charge another $4000 for just the flights on top of my $3200 flight credit. In the end It was cheaper to rebook the entire trip not using the credits which I did. But that $3200 is just gone and Expedia couldn’t care less. This trip will be the last time I will ever use them and I will trash talk them to anyone that will listen!

Do not, under any circumstances, use Expedia. We had to cancel flights at Christmas time due to Omicron and were given flight credits. When we tried to redeem them on the app - in January, for travel in summer - it only allowed for one-way bookings. When I logged into the desktop version, it has the same problem. Turning then to the chat bot for help, that is also thoroughly useless. If you want any hope of actual help, you need to ask for a live agent (not that you can speak to them - it's still on chat). So having worked out where we want to go and when, I have spent no less than three hours (literally) online only to be told the 'fare base' rules for our flight credits don't allow that. When I asked "what do they allow", all the agent can say is "pick a different date or destination" (which is not an answer to the question). In sum, no one is able to help you. This is a catastrophically horrible customer experience. Avoid this company like the plague.

The worst customer services system ever! You used to be able to speak to a human on the phone, but now the phone system just makes it extremely difficult to speak to a real person on the phone! In fact it just designed to deliberately make it impossible to get through to a real person on the phone! Don't use expedia!

Expedia sucks so bad. DO not book thru them. The credit isn't really credit you will pay more for the "credit" then the original booking.

Purchased tickets and flight insurance for a vacation to Mexico. Got positive tests for Covid, so preceded to change or cancel our flights. We were mislead. They would not refund us or let us change our flight to a later date. They play middle man and take no responsibility when things go wrong.

An agent at expedia gave misinformation about the process to use an airline credit towards a future flight. After this, the company was unwilling to help even though they were the ones to make the mistake. Factor in waiting multiple consecutive 8 hour holds, I will never use expedia again, and I recommend that nobody else does.

I would have given it 0 star if there was an option. In 2020 I booked some flights through Expedia to Lebanon to spend Christmas with my family. Obviously with the pandemic, I decided not to go, and contacted Expedia to move my flight. I was given a credit note to use later. Then in 2021, I called Expedia to use that credit note to book flights for this Christmas. I was also charged extra for the change in price. They said everything was handled, that I should not worry. Then in September I was checking my itinerary, and realised that I could not find the actual confirmation. I called Expedia and they told me that the airline cancelled my ticket. Nobody told me about this when it happened; if I had not called to check I would never have known. I called the airline (MEA) and they confirmed that it was actually Expedia who cancelled my ticket. So I called Expedia again, explaining that this was their fault. After just over 3 hours on the phone (after several call attempts being dropped by them, and during which they tried several times to explain I would not get a refund), they finally booked me my flights and again I had to pay the difference. They did refund me the extra I had paid earlier. Again they told me that everything was fine, and this time I got a confirmation email from Expedia. Now in December I am going over my itinerary and I can see that, once again, I have no flights booked. When I called the airline, they informed me that Expedia started to book flights, but did not complete the booking. Once again, Expedia did not tell me about this at the time; once again if I had not called I never would have known. I am really at my wits end with these people. I have not seen my family in 2 years and I am stunned by this incompetence and lack of customer care. I am now dreading having to spend another day on the phone with them, knowing that they will not refund but will try and push a credit note on me again (if that!). I never want to deal with this company again. They sent an email to airline a month ago to get my refund and haven't received any reply. When I called to ask about it, they said I should just wait. How long? They are just trying to avoid paying me back. IT IS THE WORST COMPANY EVER. THEY JUST STEAL EVERYONE's MONEY. I WILL NEVER USE EXPEDIA AGAIN. STAY AWAY! AWFUL.

DO NOT USE THEM!! The website is easy to use and looks great UNTIL you have issues with booking or questions. it near impossible to get in touch with anybody about any questions you may have. And if you do they provide generic response. DO NOT USE THEM! You can get similar rates but a lot better care for customers on other website and booking services!

Expedia emailed me stating my expedia flight credits need to be redeemed by 12/31. I login, click 'use credits' and come to the search for flights page. The page does not load after many attempts, rebooting WiFi, and using multiple browsers. The main page loads flights without any issues at all. Spoke to customer service using vitrual chat, was told to contact the airline. Airline has zero records, told to contact expedia again. Expedia customer service is an absolute abomination, not helpful whatsoever. Basically long story short they stole over $600 from me. Do not book with expedia, no "deal" is worth the risk you will take or the headache of hearing "ma'am, there's nothing I can do for you" for hours.

Had to cancel a hotel booking and could not and was not even considered for a refund. Hotel chain (most) will honor a cancellation a day before and it was unavoidable that we had to cancel. EASY MONEY for Expedia. Something could have been in the fine print, understood, but look at how long that is and who really always reads all of that. Worked with their customer support and it was cut in stone that my money was staying in their pocket. Terrible company in this day and age.

Con merchants book a flight that was confirmed. After I paid sent me an Email saying the ticket was unconfirmed and send me this. Dear PETER , RE: Itinerary Number: 72207249843496 Booking ID: PDHCOH We have attempted to contact you, on phone number listed in your user profile that you provided, when you made your booking. To inform, that we are unable to issue ticket due to some airline error. So in this case you need to create new booking from the airline website, so that we can issue tickets. Please contact us at +44 203 0248211 from outside the UK. We are available from 8:00 A.M. to 8:30 P.M., 7 days a week. Please do not reply to this e-mail as this mailbox is not monitored. Thank you for choosing Expedia! Yours sincerely, The Expedia Travel Team Now having problems getting my money refunded. Just giving me the run around after being I would receive it by today Used them for 25 years never again Now saying they will look into . Have to find out the status’s they say More run around just. Then told my he charges would drop of my account and I could phone the bank . I did phone More Lies After that then told me they sent a refund on the first of December. No refund more Lies . Then they told me this. The charge that you're seeing on your account is just pending charges. Hence, these pending charges will automatically drop off on your account. You may call your card issuer to check the removal status of this charge. I did check with bank more lies. Then saying this. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. ^JFThe refund request was already sent last Dec 1, 2021, 9:42 AM. You will receive an update via email within 10-days. Our apologies for any inconvenience. Rest assured that we are doing our best to provide a resolution to your concern. Purchased the cancelation insurance with a round-trip ticket for my son to come home for the holidays. Had to switch to different flight and they are fighting us on the refund. Who does that?! It's disgusting that a company would steal from people. Especially with lockdowns and the holidays.
