“I travel from hull to Southampton central about 4 times a yeah and the service is brilliant we get the option to avoid London which is great as I'm a single parent with a 7 year old in tour. Now for Doncaster station it's is very unorganised with platform changing at last minute and this is everytime not just a one off. But ovaroll first trains are brilliant ????????????”
“Hull trains is a first class company.
The only beef I have is that if there is a problem with the locks/rolling stock then trains were cancelled and there appears to be no back up.”
“I travel to London regularly from Brough although have also travelled on the east coast and west coast lines with other operators. The is no doubt in my mind that Hull Trains is the best. Both standard class and first class are really good but what really makes a difference is the friendliness of the staff. That can make for a unique customer experience. Being from the Hull area, I call it the Village Train because that is how it feels - like being at home somehow.”
“I always travel by Hull Trains to Edinburgh and down to London a few times a year. It's a treat to look forward to with nice clean coaches, good tea, coffee and snacks. The only negative is if I have to travel in a hurry and the tickets are more expensive than taking the car, so the last two times I've been away I've driven to save money, about £50. Otherwise I'm a totally satisfied customer.”
“We travel on First Hull Trains regularly (approx every three months) between Hull and London throughout the year and have not had any problems with delays or cancellations for at least four years. The staff are always polite, friendly and helpful.”
“Prompt train transport that supported me through my last contacting position working up in Scotland.
My only grumble is when they cancelled a 05.59 am train because of the shortage of staff to operate. I had to get a taxi to connect with York to Edinburgh train, by which you only compensated half of this fare !!”
“Booked on January 1st 2015 for a 3 person trip to London in March. Luckily I obtained a very cheap rate. Hull Trains provide a punctual and excellent service. Staff are always polite and efficient. Always use Hull Trains for London trips”
“Please time the Beverley to Hull train such that there isn't a long wait for the train to Leeds or increase the of trains from Hull to Leeds to 3 or 4 per hour.”
“My favourite train company is Hull Trains. I like the convenience of a straight through to London service. The trains are comfortable and always immaculately clean. The staff are polite, helpful and good humoured. Things go wrong from time to time, however the company try hard to rectify issues. When Hull trains are at fault they are quick to compensate if culpable. Fares are reasonable particularly when you book early in advance of journeys.”
“When I lived in Hull I used Hull Trains on a regular basis as being able to travel direct to London was brilliant. I still use Hull Trains from my nearest station, which is now Peterborough and I have always found the trains to be clean and reliable and the fares to be reasonable.”
“Travellled several times recently,
sadly often at night and the train is cold.
last time our train was cancelled which was a problem as we had elderly family travelling ,seat bookings gone,managed to get a seat for father(he had had a stroke,is 82 and I had to ask someone to move a bag so he could sit down)we did not get seat;
If trains are excessively busy and need a hand like this-where is the gaurd? When quiet they are everywhere!
most times very helpful.”
“Used a couple of times to get to London from Howden last summer to hook up with Eurostar from St Pancras a very easy stroll from Kings Cross Station. Lucky enough both times to take advantage of good prices for 1st class travel. Despite the carriages being older stock they were very comfortable. The on board staff were extremely polite, helpful and genuinely wanted to ensure you had a good journey. We were well fed and watered throughout our journeys. The standard of food served at your seat was perfectly acceptable and was better than was offered on Eurostar services. Each trip was spot on time. We do not go to London very often but when we do we always check Hull trains website. There are some good deals to be had, especially if you are able to book well in advance. I particularly appreciated the fact you could select a date and the website contacted you when tickets were available to buy. Very useful for good prices.
You provided a service we were very happy to use - well done”
“In mid July I took my grandson on his annual treat from Hull for day in London. We travelled first class for extra service and comfort. Our outward journey was excellent and arrived into King's Cross on time. When we returned to King's Cross at the end of the day, having visited the Houses of Parliament and the new Wembley stadium, we found that our return Hull Train had been cancelled. We were re-routed on an East Coast train to Doncaster and then a Northern Train to Hull. We arrived later than anticipated but more importantly, the standard of service from both companies was not up to that of Hull Trains. When I contacted Hull Trains about this they were prompt and sympathetic in their reply. They refunded the total cost of our return journey.
I was very impressed and pleased by their high standard of customer service and their desire to make amends. We will have no hesitation returning again in 2016.”
“I find HullTrains very good. I travel regularly t o Kings cross in the quiet coach mainly. It is comfortable and usually on time and very good value for money when making an Advance booking.”
“Fab service from Hull to London. Booking system fab for a family/couple/single travellers. But shame groups cannot benefit from booking together and using prime time trains :(”
“The train was clean and ran on time. Staff were polite and I could hear and understand the announcements. I went to the snack bar for a drink but was a little early but got served anyway. No problems at all with the service. Well done Hull Trains.”
