I recently purchased two Large Pink Standard Rose Trees. There was no indication in the bio of the product that it would arrive in damaged condition and would need to be revived. They are both riddled with rust and the branches are damaged and dead. I would never of purchased them if i knew. When emailing gardening express they stated “These plants are as we would expect them to be upon arrival to you, and should with the correct care and planting conditions continue to thrive and grow” The images on your website are extremely inaccurate & deceiving to customers. I did not purchase these for myself. I am a gardener and they are for a client. I most definitely would never find it acceptable to use these trees for a job. And the fact that this company would send out such shoddy product is just disgusting. When requesting to return them I was told to do so via Parcel2Go. Is this how your company makes its profits? Selling your end of line, damaged goods to customers and then making it so difficult for them to return the plants that they are forced to just give up?

Just that the standard fushias don't look very healthy and tried emailing pictures as they asked for and nothing goes .also nothing like the photos on website not buying from them again should have found this review site first

They send out dead plants and then don't want to acknowledge it. They don't answer the enquiries just send out automated answers. Never buy anything from them. it's a scam.

Ordered 6 conifers for a £1 each,received them,all were healthy & large specimens, I was well chuffed! Will definitely order more

I ordered 3 different Clematis plants - 2 of them were healthy & now growing well in my garden. The third however looked dry and unhealthy when received, but I planted it and hoped it might spring back to life. One month later, the plant gave up completely. Customer Service then wanted me to pay for a courier to collect the dead plant, as evidence, despite taking detailed photographs both when first receiving the plant and a month later. Their response was "All our plants are checked for quality, condition and overall health prior to dispatch, both internally and by an external independent ministry (DEFRA), to make sure we are only sending out good quality stock to our customers" This statement is clearly inaccurate! I had no suitable packaging to return a delicate dead plant, nor was I prepared to pay good money to a courier for its return. It was actually more cost effective to buy a new clematis from a different supplier and this is now growing healthily. Customer Service at Gardening Express do not represent their company at its best and I will not be using this supplier again.

Never ever purchase anything from this company. They have finally agreed to accept my return of a magnolia ‘twig’’ for a refund but the courier service will cost more than the plant price and they do not refund postage even on faulty items. Absolute scammers. Please, please avoid this company

Very disappointed with my recent purchase of a magnolia. I have waited 2 weeks (as per GE customer service request) but it’s well below parr for the price paid. Also not easy to contact GE once you have purchased a product. It’s not going to be possible to return easily without further damaging the dead twigs 😡

I honestly would avoid this company. I ordered 3 plants and upon arrival, I opened the box to find the plants very poorly packaged. The plants were out of their pots, spilt apart and soil everywhere. I took images, out the flowers in the bin and emailed the company straight away however, the customer service lady advised a refund or replacement would not be provided without images of the individual plants, pots and the delivery note. After a lot of going back and forth they advised they would refund for one plant but not the others. It is completely unreasonable to not offer a replacement or refund if images are provided of how the items were received. Their customer service is very poor. Avoid avoid avoid.

Bought 4 Daphne plants for £70 which were tiny when received, poor value. One of the plants didn't thrive and developed black mould. I asked for a replacement thinking they would send one out but no! They wanted the original sent back, tracked post with proof of purchase etc. and said they might send one if they have them in stock. What scammers! DO NOT BUY FROM GARDENING EXPRESS. I have since read reviews, all bad!

Ordered 3 Indian summer plants they arrived with no foliage looks dead. Wrote to them they advised wait until weather warms up it’s the way they are grown. All my other plants that died off last winter are already shooting, these are still looking dead. Trimmed the top off of one plant no sign off living matter. Wrote back asking for replacements was told to do more tests, I won’t be buying from this company ever again. Any reputable company would have arranged for replacements. I didn’t want a refund just living plants.

Don't buy houseplants, or any other tender plants from this company in winter. They will send them out even when low temperatures are forecast. Mine arrived with frost damage and because I didn't complain within 14 days - a period during which the damage looked quite minor they have refused to replace or refund them, so turning what may have been a simple mistake into sharp practice. Don't touch them.

Poor customer service and descriptions. Expect you to pay for expensive returns regardless of the issue being caused by the lack of information on the website. Avoid.

I have always used Direct Plants who I can definitely recommend for their plants and after sales service.Gardening Express I dont recommend on either. I bought a magnolia tree last after getting one flower then looking sickly it didn’t last the winter,keep well away from this company.

2 plants arrived with frost damage for which a refund was given . 2 Montana grandiflora clematis arrived as a twig they look dead not as shown on screen there is no sign of life and no refund was issued even though was a return shopper.

I bought 3 plants all were very well packaged and arrived on time but the coleonema was completely brown other than 1 little stem and the bamboo plants were broken and very sparse. Save your money and buy elsewhere where the plants are healthy and will grow

do not bother purchasing, plants may be cheaper but customer service non existent, if plants don't grow they will only refund or replace if returned in original condition, so you have to send pots labels as well as plants that you've been trying to get to grow for a month or so, impossible

Amaryllis bulbs did not grow and no interest when I contacted customer services. They said to contact with 14 days. I left it a month from planting the bulbs...surely that's acceptable timing?
