AVOID GARDENING EXPRESS AT ALL COSTS....DONT KNOW HOW THEY ARE STILL IN BUSINESS. AFTER NUMEROUS EMAILS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE DREADFUL QUALITY OF TWO STANDARD ROSE TREES ..... LOOKED TOTALLY DEAD ON ARRIVAL BUT BOUGHT NEW COMPOST AND PLANTED WITH FINGERS CROSSED. FAILED WITH EVEN THE GRAFT JUST SPLITTING AND BLOWN AWAY. STANDARD EMAIL REPLIES FROM THEM SAYING THEY WERE PASSING COMPLAINT ONTO RELEVANT DEPARTMENT. THIS HAS GONE ON FOR NEARLY 6 MONTHS !!!! SENT EMAIL COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO ASKING HOW, AS A COMPANY, THEY CAN SLEEP AT NIGHT....... NATURALLY NO REPLY AND HAVE JUST GONE INTO MY ACCOUNT WITH THEM WHERE I CAN VIEW ALL THE EMAILS AND GUESS WHAT ........ THEY HAVE DELETED THEM ALL. HOW IS A COMPANY ALLOWED TO TRADE JUST KEEPING CUSTOMERS MONEY ????? HEARTBREAKING TO HEAR OF SO MANY LEGAL, HARD WORKING BUSINESSES HAVING TO CLOSE BUT THEY CAN KEEP ON TRADING ??????

Zero customer service years before COVID and then recently in September 2020. Ordered twice from this company but several years apart. Both orders were for what they were selling as established shrubs. Both orders arrived in a very poor state and it was clear that they the plants hadn’t been looked after whilst they were maturing. Not only were they poorly but they had hardly any leaves in them (both bought in season) and looked like someone had dumped twigs in a pot and added a bit of soil. The packaging was below standard - pots were in carrier bags and then put in boxes which were too big for the plant so there was movement and therefore damage in transit resulting in snapped twigs. Not impressed

Categories My Reviews My Settings Help LOG OUT Alternate Text Ian Palmer GB For companies Review of Gardening Express Ian Palmer Ian Palmer 2 reviews 1 star: Bad 9 minutes ago I ordered plants in April they arrived… I ordered plants in April they arrived 10 weeks later badly damaged i then submitted a ticket with photographic proof and then waited and waited and waited and waited ( can you see the pattern forming ) And then finally received the confirmation that the matter had been resolved and the ticket closed I have not received any refund or replacement plants or any explanation whatsoever these fraudsters are the worst kind of oxygen thief's ever to have walked the earth and i would urge anyone thinking of doing business with GARDENING EXPRESS to take their custom elsewhere I did read the reviews for these charlatans but thought they can't be that bad and maybe I'll be ok as a few people have had no problems ( probably family members and workers ) Please don't make the same mistake as I and many others have

Plant arrived okay and healthy. However packaging a lot to be desired. Could have been different story if it damaged the contents. Especially as paid £6 to have shipped. Expected it to arrive in better condition and protected.

I received my mimosa tree in January and was slightly surprised as it was basically a stick with a very limited ball of growth at the top and then one very small leaf lower down. I had never grown nor seen mimosa growing so planted it hoping that it would thicken and produce more growth. Over the next few months the top growth gradually faded the one lower leaf died and then the stem/trunk gradually turned brown. I have tried to get a refund for the tree but to no avail . I sent photos which was difficult as I am not very good with technology but they say they have not received them. It is now a month ago since I asked for compensation but they ignore me. I would not use this company again

I ordered £120 of plants from them end of April. Most of them arrived 4 months later in various stages of neglect - from damaged to rotten. I made various attempts to get my money back with no success and now they have closed the complaint. Wonder if the poor NHS worker who was trying to get her money back ever heard back from them either? AVOID AT ALL COSTS

worst company I ever used. no phone or email.. just a ticket system to contact them which does not copy you into the ticket you raise.. they mostly don't reply at all... now trying to get refund for item never recived for a month.. mostly they don't reply, if they do they send emails making no sense.. like asking for photos of the damaged plant in response to an email I sent saying I have not recived the plant.. never ever again.

Dreadful company. Wish I had read the review first. Ordered seven Bush roses that should have been well established they cost over £70 . After two weeks I received seven puny plants in a bashed up box. They have disconnected their phone and don't reply to your emails. Don't make the same mistake as me

Do not order from them be warned! I received a supposedly evergreen clematis which had one leaf which was going brown, having raised a ticket 2 weeks ago I am still waiting for the horticultural manager to respond. (must be inundated!) As previously highlighted no other way of contacting. The plant has since deteriated further going black dispite my best attempts with rich compost and feed.. ☹️

The plants I received were in very poor condition the dwarf apricot had about 3 or 4 leaves on it that were half dead & the tree didn't look much better I raised a ticket & then waited & waited but no reply raised another ticket & the same thing no reply.I would not recommend anyone buy from this company because if anything is wrong they will not reply to emails & there is no other way to get in touch with them.

Don’t order from them! My order came was dead within 2 weeks, still no reply from the ticket which you have to raise. No other way to contact them, they are just thieves taking your money!

After waiting over 2 extra weeks, my fruit tree arrived. The delivery box was very damaged and when I opened the box, the tree was badly damaged. The smaller branches had broke off and the larger ones were hanging off. Two of the branches were dead (already wooded). Immediately I raised a ticket attaching numerous photographs. 22nd of august. 2 days later i got reply saying it was awaiting review by the Horticultural Manager. 9 days later NOTHING. This manager must be very busy replying to all the complaints. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't buy anything from this company. Shocking customer service. Corona Virus is not an excuse. They took my £36. Day light robbery.

Like many of the previous posts, I to have had poor to nonexistent service from Gardening Express (the name is a joke). I ordered Plants in March at over £50 and am still waiting delivery or my money returned. I have raised numerous tickets and despite being allegedly being referred to Management, still nothing received or refunded. Be warned, keep clear of these cowboys. What does it take for the authorities to take action? Never Ever again!!!

Ordered plants in April, tomorrow is September....still not arrived. They tell me they are very busy and it could be 2-4 weeks before they can deliver....it’s been 20 weeks, don’t think I’m being unreasonable so have asked for refund (more than once!) they don’t reply at all to these emails. Do not use it is a scam!!!!

I received a dead geranium, a hydrangea with 2 leaves and didn't get a Red Abyssinian banana plant. There is no phone number, no e-mail address and a complaints ticket system that get cleared with no resolution. I don't understand why Trading Standards allow this company to trade. Please be warned you are better off giving your money to charity.

I don't feel quite as negative as others about Gardening Express as the plants they have sent me have been received packaged well and in good condition, better than many at garden centres during Covid 19, and have flourished but...... They sent me a wrong plant, I wasn't prepared to go to the trouble of returning what they sent me under the present circumstances so I kept it but it was cheaper than the one I'd ordered. I then tried to check my orders in my account and couldn't access it, it wasn't accepting my password. I've tried to change my password dozens of times but never receive an email from them to allow me to do so. They send me charming responses to my queries apologising and telling me how to try and sort it out but I've given up and will cancel my contact with them. This company is missing a trick, like the curate's egg it's good in parts but not good enough for me to stay with them. What a pity.

Like everyone on this review site, damaged/dead plants and months of being ignored, photos sent and my ticket has now been closed. Avoid this company and save your money, they are con men of the highest order. Just be glad you are not a family member of the "family run business "

Deliver badly damaged and dead plants & then ignore all your emails for weeks. AVOID! Delivered badly damaged and dead plants, then do not respond to ticket raised.. and then eventually close your ticket weeks later. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. THEY WILL DELIVER DEAD PLANTS AND THEN IGNORE YOU COMPLETELY! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
